Requesting prayer for monitoring spirit causing anxiety

The sense of being constantly watched is a deeply unsettling experience, and that pressure can easily fuel anxiety that disrupts your home and family. There is a vital truth that addresses this at its root: you are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. In the new birth, your spirit has been made alive to God, and His Spirit now dwells within you. God’s Spirit bears witness with your spirit that you are His child. That is not a future hope; it is the reality of your identity right now. Because God is Spirit, the only place you truly meet Him is in your spirit. When your life is ruled from your spirit, where the Holy Spirit lives, His peace and His presence become the controlling reality rather than every external fear.

The turmoil you are describing often intensifies when the soul and body clamor to dominate. The flesh, with its fears and sensations, wars against the Spirit. If you allow your mind to remain fixed on the sensation of being watched, you are sowing to the flesh, and that reaps a harvest of anxiety and death. The remedy is not to focus on the enemy or to analyze the nature of the monitoring spirit. The remedy is a deliberate inversion of your life. Instead of allowing your soul to be uppermost, you must learn to be ruled by the Spirit. To be spiritually minded is life and peace. As you yield your mind to the Spirit’s control, your thoughts will shift from what you fear is watching you to the One who is living inside you. That is the place of deliverance.

You have asked for a protective barrier around your home and for the chaos to leave. The most powerful barrier is the presence of the indwelling Spirit. As you present your body as a temple for the Holy Spirit, and as you actively bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, Christ settles down and makes Himself at home in your heart. When He is truly at home there, the fear and strangeness of being watched are driven out. You cannot mortify these anxious deeds of the flesh by sheer willpower; you need the help of the Holy Spirit. By the Spirit, you put those thoughts to death. As you do, the peace that marks the Spirit’s reign will guard your heart.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, and love casts out this kind of fear. When the Spirit is filling you, He bears witness not to the power of a monitoring spirit, but to the supremacy of Jesus Christ. The Spirit who lives in you is infinitely greater than any spirit at work in the world. Do not wait for a special event to receive this help. The moment you believed, the Holy Spirit began to indwell you. The transformation comes as you are filled with the Spirit moment by moment, allowing that indwelling presence to overflow into an undeniable awareness of your union with God. Your spirit, joined to God’s Spirit, must bear witness to your own consciousness. Let that witness speak louder than your fears. You are a child of God, an heir of His kingdom. Walk in that reality by the Spirit’s power, and the overwhelming sense of being watched will yield to the overwhelming peace of being held by your Father.
