Requesting prayer for monitoring spirit causing anxiety

I am reaching out requesting prayer for a possible monitoring spirit situation. Regardless what it is I am seeking help as I feel watched constantly. I am asking for prayers that whatever is causing chaos in my life leave immediately in the name of the Lord. I am asking that the Lord delivery me from this anxiety and place a protective barrier around my home and family. I am asking that the Lord be with us and deliver us from our situation.

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in spiritual warfare, knowing that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The anxiety and feeling of being watched is not from God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We take authority in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, at which every knee should bow (Philippians 2:9-10), and command every monitoring spirit, every spirit of fear, and every demonic influence to flee from you and your household right now.

We rebuke the enemy’s lies that you are alone or unprotected. The Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart (Psalm 91:2-4). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses you from all sin (1 John 1:7), and by His stripes, you are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

We pray that the Lord would surround your home and family with His holy angels, as He commands His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask that the Holy Spirit would fill you with His presence, bringing comfort, strength, and discernment. May you be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love, which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:17-19).

Father, we ask that You would deliver this dear one from every snare of the enemy. Break every chain of anxiety, fear, and oppression in the name of Jesus. Let Your light shine into every dark corner of their life, exposing and driving out every unclean spirit. We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, spirit, and home, creating a hedge of protection that the enemy cannot penetrate. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the armor of God, truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

We also encourage you to draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Fill your mind with the truth of God’s Word, meditating on it day and night (Joshua 1:8), and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can stand with you in prayer and encouragement. Do not neglect the power of corporate prayer, for where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20).

If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Only through Jesus can we approach the Father, and only in His name can we find true deliverance and peace.

We stand with you, declaring that this oppression has no place in your life. The enemy is already defeated, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). May the Lord arise, and His enemies be scattered (Psalm 68:1). We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We’ve been lifting your situation to the Lord and we feel the weight of what you’re carrying. That constant sense of being watched, and the anxiety it stirs, is exhausting and unsettling. We’re standing with you in prayer against whatever is causing this chaos.

One thing we’ve found helpful when spiritual oppression feels heavy is to remember that our enemy often works through fear itself. The more we fixate on what might be watching, the tighter anxiety’s grip becomes. While we take the reality of evil spirits seriously, we don’t want to give them more attention than they deserve. Instead, we look to the One who has already disarmed every dark power. As we fill our minds with God’s perfect, personal love for us, fear begins to lose its voice.

A practical step that may bring relief is to invite one or two mature believers you trust, perhaps your pastor or a prayer partner, to come pray through your home together. Claim Christ’s victory aloud, ask the Holy Spirit to fill every room, and dedicate your space as holy ground. There’s something strengthening about facing this with others who will stand with you in Jesus’ authority.

If this anxiety keeps disrupting your sleep, work, or relationships, please also consider a visit to your doctor or a Christian counselor. Sometimes our bodies and minds get stuck in alarm mode, and getting that checked can be part of God’s provision for you.

Lord Jesus, you see this dear person and the fear that hounds them. By your resurrection power, silence every lying whisper and cast out any spirit that does not confess you as Lord. Place your mighty angels around this home and family, creating an unbreachable hedge of protection. Flood their heart with your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them tangibly sense your presence when they feel most alone. We ask this in your powerful name, amen.

You speak of a monitoring spirit and the chaos it brings, and I perceive that this sense of being watched and crushed is no small thing to your soul. It is possible to go down into Egypt by reason of our own depression of spirit, inward conflict and despondency; if you are like the preacher, you are by no means a stranger to inward sinking. Yet know this, when Israel came out of Egypt, it was Jehovah who brought forth her armies, and deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. You cannot, in any degree or measure, bring this about yourself. The spirit of the people was too crushed to have dared to come forth, even if they could have achieved liberty by a brave revolt, and so are you. Therefore, He makes their deliverance effectual and in every deed He brings them forth.

That very anxiety you describe is an arrow shot by the enemy to make you declare that God’s ear is shut and He will never move His arm. But the clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of deliverance, for the time had come. Nobody would have thought of that way of the deliverance of a sinner from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it. He has found a ransom, and no dark spirit can stand where the blood of Christ speaks. Look there, and look nowhere else. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty? If you are telling yourself about it and your anxiety is confined to yourself, no good will come of that.

It is the Holy Spirit who helps our infirmity. You say you are watched and cannot feel mercy; it is true you are darkness, but then He is your light. The deliverance you seek must come from being led out by divine power, and our Lord is the One anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power to heal all who are oppressed of the devil. Cast yourself wholly upon Him. Think you that while you can plead a Father’s love and cry with the Spirit of adoption to Him, you can be forsaken? Take this cluster home and drink deeply of its juice: “Thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and the door shall surely be opened. The God who went about doing good has not changed; He will place His protective barrier, for the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them. You shall get safely home.

The thing you suffer, this constant sense of being watched and the anxiety it breeds, is not to be taken lightly, nor should you imagine you are helpless. The enemy of our souls delights to press upon the mind with such fears, but the Spirit given to us is a Spirit of power and of a sound mind. Just as the dove appeared when the flood had made all seem lost, bearing the olive branch of deliverance, so now the Holy Spirit stands ready to bring calm to your heart and to your home. But the sail of the soul must be stretched tight, not slack with despair. Earnest prayer, stretched forth toward heaven with great intentness, is what catches the wind of the Spirit. When you pray, do not merely whisper words, but brace up your mind, on fire with hope. For the Spirit does not abide in a slack soul; He requires a certain tension, a holy vehemence, that the gusts of these dark fears may be shaken off and fall away.

You ask for a protective barrier. Remember whose you are. In baptism you received the Spirit of adoption, crying out “Abba, Father.” You are no longer a slave to terror. The Son Himself has set you free from the curse, and the Spirit who came at Pentecost came precisely because the disciples first felt their need keenly. Let this trial sharpen your longing for God, and it will become the pathway to unalloyed peace. Do not fix your gaze upon the watcher, whether spirit or mere imagination, but upon the Deliverer. The Spirit is given to foretell things to come, so that you need not be tormented by uncertainties. What then is left? Cleave to things spiritual, overlook the world’s phantoms, and in this way you will have heaven’s protection even while on earth. I shall pray for you, yet I urge you also to put on no slackness. Rise from prayer, make the sign of the cross over door and heart, fill your mind with psalms, and let the energy of the Spirit drive out all chaos. He who delivered the whole world from the shipwreck of sin will surely guard one soul that trusts in Him.
