We lift you up before the Lord as this day comes to a close, asking for His peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. The night can sometimes bring worries or fears, but we know that God never slumbers nor sleeps, and He is your ever-present help in times of need.
Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. We ask that You wrap Your loving arms around this dear one as they rest. Calm any anxieties, quiet any distractions, and fill their heart with the assurance of Your love and protection. May they find rest in You, knowing that You are their refuge and strength. We pray that You would speak to them in the stillness of the night, reminding them of Your promises and Your faithfulness.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 4:8, "In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." We claim this promise over their life tonight. May they experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, a peace that can only come from You.
We also encourage you to draw near to God in all things, for He promises to draw near to you. If there are areas in your life where you feel distant from Him, we urge you to seek His face with a repentant heart. Confess any sin that may be hindering your relationship with Him, for He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Remember, it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with the mouth that you profess your faith and are saved (Romans 10:9-10). This is the most important decision you will ever make, and we pray that you would make it today if you haven't already.
As you close your eyes tonight, may you find comfort in the words of Psalm 23: "Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in Yahweh’s house forever."
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
