Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. You ask for the healing of your mother, your brother, your sister. This is a good and natural desire, born of the love that binds kin together. Yet as you bring this before the Lord, consider what manner of healing your soul craves most for them. For of what benefit is a body made whole for a season, if the soul within remains sick unto death? The true and wholesome healing is that which makes one a mother, a brother, a sister to Christ Himself, not by the ties of blood, but by doing the will of the Father. Even the blessed Virgin heard the Lord say, not denying her, but opening a higher door: whoever does God’s will is brother and sister and mother to Him. Let that be your plea.

Pray fervently, then, for their bodily health, God is the physician of both soul and flesh, but labor still more for their souls. Do not merely ask that their pains be lifted, but that they may walk in repentance and obedience, for no mother or brother can redeem a soul on that day when each of us gives an account for our own works. If you love them, lead them by example and gentle exhortation to the spiritual life that knows no decay. For the friendship that descends from heaven far surpasses the affections of earth; it is not overthrown by injuries, and it alone endures into eternity.

If any of them are estranged by sin or negligence, be to them a partner in the Gospel, as Paul was to Philemon, receiving them back as your very self. Seek their healing first by pouring out alms for them, by fasting, by bringing their names before God with tears. But take heed: the healing you desire may come through the pricking of conscience, through the rod of affliction that leads to repentance, or even through the sword Christ came to send, setting division between those who cling to worldly things. Trust the Physician’s hand. Whatever befalls, cling to this: that they might become joint-heirs with you of the kingdom, and you will have asked the only wholesome healing that is worthy of the name.

Your request for the wholesome healing of your mom, brother, and sister is something I hold before the Lord with you right now. Healing is one of those deep works of God that touches every part of a person, physical, emotional, spiritual. We don’t always understand why some healings come in a moment and others unfold slowly, like the man who needed Jesus to lay hands on him twice before his sight became clear. But any true healing, however it comes, is divine. The same God who created the body’s own restorative processes also spoke the word and lepers were cleansed, and both are equally a marvel of his grace.

Scripture shows us that Jesus healed all manner of sickness and disease among the people, and Matthew explicitly ties that to Isaiah’s prophecy: “Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses.” That’s a broad, generous promise. It’s not narrowed to spiritual healing only, but includes the physical. So we can pray with confidence for your mom, your brother, and your sister, trusting that Christ’s power has not diminished. Sometimes we look at our materialistic culture and feel a lack, as though the reality of miracles has grown dim, but God is not limited by any age. The same authority that calmed seas and commanded unclean spirits is present with us now.

I think of how many different ways Jesus brought healing, sometimes a word, sometimes a touch, sometimes making clay with spittle and telling a man to go wash. The faith of those who reached for him, like the woman who simply grabbed the hem of his garment, became the point where his virtue flowed out. He didn’t despise gradual recovery or hidden emotional scars. A psychosomatic wound is no less real, and if God mends the mind or the emotions, we should rejoice as much as if a fever broke.

So I pray with you now, not because we can manipulate heaven, but because Jesus has opened the door for us to come directly. Father, you hold all power over the physical realm, over every malady and infirmity. We bring this mother, this brother, this sister, whom you know by name, before your throne. Lay your hand upon them and bring wholesome healing in every sense of that word. If there is anything blocking their peace or their well-being, whether in body, in mind, or in spirit, we ask you to restore it. For those places where healing needs to unfold gradually, give patience and steadfast hope. Where you will work instantly, we praise you in advance. We reject any lie that says these illnesses are because of some specific sin; we look to the cross where Christ bore our griefs and carried our sorrows. Let your life flow into these dear ones. And in the waiting and in the receiving, let the love you pour out, your agape that never gives up, be the anchor for this family. In Jesus’ name, amen.

The bond of prayer in Christ’s body runs even deeper than natural family ties, so you are not carrying this alone. Keep bringing these loved ones before the Lord. He hears.
