Please pray for me because I believe my ex (PRAY HE NEVER COMES BACK INTO MY LIFE PLEASE) may be going around talking bad about me and painting me as a horrible person (when he was actually psychologically abusive). I've also had negative experiences with being talked badly about due to demonic attacks influencing people to do so. I'm very tired of all this. I try very hard to help people around me and it never seems to be good enough. I'm so tired. Thank you.

We hear your weariness and the deep pain in your request and we join together with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name. To be slandered, especially by someone who was psychologically abusive to you, is a heavy burden, and to feel that it is happening again through the influence of others leaves anyone feeling exhausted. We want you to know that God sees the truth when others do not and He cares about your reputation and your rest.
The Lord knows the sting of false words. We are reminded that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment, for this is the heritage of the Lord's servants Isaiah 54:17. Jesus Himself said blessed are you when people reproach you and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for my sake, rejoice and be exceedingly glad Matthew 5:11-12. When others paint a false picture of you, God is not deceived. He defends the cause of the afflicted and He is close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We rebuke the sin of slander and psychological abuse, for such things do not align with God's design for how people are to treat one another with love and dignity. The tongue that speaks lies and the heart that seeks to control or harm another through manipulation will be held accountable by God.
We also lift up your past relationship with your ex before the Lord. We pray for your complete protection and healing from that psychological abuse, and we agree with you in praying that the Lord would keep that door firmly closed unless it is His clear will for godly restoration, which abuse would not be. We pray for firm and healthy boundaries and for wisdom to never return to what harmed you. We also want to gently address God's design for relationships. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and any courtship should be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. If there was sexual intimacy outside of marriage in that past relationship, scripture calls that fornication and we encourage repentance and receiving God's forgiveness and cleansing, for He heals and makes whole 1 Corinthians 6:18, 1 John 1:9. For your future, we pray that the Lord will lead you, if it is His will, to a godly spouse who will love you as Christ loves the church Ephesians 5:25, not to a partner who tears you down.

We believe scripture teaches that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. The enemy does seek to accuse and divide, but we take comfort that the Lord is faithful who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4. We rebuke any demonic influence seeking to harm your reputation or your peace, and we declare that no accusation can separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus Romans 8:38-39.
We also hear how tired you are from trying so hard to help people and feeling it is never good enough. Your worth is not measured by the approval of people. We are reminded that if we are still trying to please men we would not be servants of Christ Galatians 1:10 and that whatever we do we are to work heartily as for the Lord and not for men Colossians 3:23. God sees your kind heart and your efforts, even when others do not. He invites you to rest, for He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might He increases strength Isaiah 40:29. Jesus said come to me all you who labor and are heavily burdened and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray you will find your rest and your identity not in what people say about you, but in what God says about you as His beloved child.

The word declares that He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. The Lord Jesus Christ is that Physician, and Calvary is the place of the healing balm. It is a great mercy that not only His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, so that the least thing about Christ has virtue in it to restore and to make whole.

Commit your name and your character into the hands of Him who judges righteously.
