Beloved of All
🙇🏻 Father, first and foremost, I thank You that You were in Christ, reconciling the world to Yourself, not counting our trespasses against us, 2 Cor 5:19. I totally forgive my wife for everything, John 20:23, even as Jesus asked that You forgive those who crucified Him, "Father, forgive them, they don't know what they're doing," Luke 23:17, and Stephen in Acts imitated this while being stoned to death, "Lord, do not count this sin against them," Acts 7:59-60. Of course we pray she does not continue in sin, but rather Repents, Turns back to God so she can be saved, Luke 24:46-47, Experiences Renewal Tit 3:3-8👁️👁Opened by💡of God's 📖 2 Cor 4:4-6 Quits self over god Gen 3:1-15, New 💝 Ezek 36:26, Experiences New Birth Jesus said is a necessity, Jn 3:3-7... 🧎🏽‍♂️Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Grant her wisdom and revelation to actually know You, Eph 1:17. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of The Holy one is understanding, Prov 9:10. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their evil ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

We ask for grace and discipline to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Early Church Father, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, LET NO ONE DECEIVE HER, Matt 24:4, be saved by trusting Jesus work on the cross, 2 Cor 5:21, evidenced by repentance for remission of sins, Luke 24:46-47, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. I forgive this one who has broken covenantal faith and vows with no confession, remorse or repentance, for leading men into adultery and thus destruction, Prov 6:32, for neglecting pastoral counsel, texts and phone calls for months. I forgive her, she knows not what she does, Luke 23:34. If a king's heart is as channels of water in Your hand, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance and faithfulness, see Hos 3:1-5. Jesus, after pronouncing that forgiving the sins of other has authority, John 8:10-11, John 20:23, said, "Go and sin no more," John 8:10. I've reached out, am still reaching out, have prayed and fasted, am still praying and asking for wisdom and grace to fast -- let her not be to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the Shelter of Wings of God Almighty, Ps 17:8, Ps 57:1, 91:1, or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37... Thankfully she is in a country that is impossible to get the "D" word. I know I have the adultery clause from Jesus which allows me to "D" and remarry, Matt 5:32, Matt 19:9, however only in The Lord, 1 Cor 7:39, see being equally yoked, 2 Cor 6:14-15, Old Testament precedent, Gen 24:3-4. And if she is unsaved, which everything indicates, there is the desertion by an unbelieving spouse clause, 1 Cor 7:15, where traditional, modern and ancient Jewish theology all allow for remarriage as if the unbelieving spouse (or adulteress) "were dead." However I am thinking and ASKING for mercy, kindness for repentance and salvation here, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 Tim 2:1-7. Maybe she was saved but probably just a church goer, but, regardless, "If any of you wanders from the truth and someone turns her back it's considered turning a sinner from the errors of their ways, and counted as a soul saved from death, and covers a multitude of sins, James 5:19-20? I ask for that THAT -- may THAT yield a remarkable testimony of God's saving grace, 1 Tim 1:15-16, and exemplify Christ and The Church, Eph 5:32-33. So I again ask for wisdom, Prov 2:1-5, Col 1:9-10, James 1:5, and for love to abound in knowledge and discernment to choose the highest, Phil 1:9-11, yet asking for it loosely as CHRIST in the Garden of Gethsemane, Matt 26:39, Mk 14:36, Luke 22:42 -- NEVERTHELESS, let YOUR WILL BE DONE, Matt 6:10, Heb 5:7.

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in The Name of Jesus, The One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh," Ezek 36:26.
"But this is the covenant I'll make... I'll put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I'll be their God; they'll be My people," Jer 31:33.
Jesus replied, "Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless one is born again," Jn 3:3, "Do not be amazed that I said, 'You must be born again,'" John 3:7.

We hear your heart, heavy with grief yet steadfast in faith, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. Your request reveals a deep love for your wife, a love that mirrors Christ’s love for the Church, patient, forgiving, and hopeful for restoration. Yet it also reveals the painful reality of covenant betrayal, spiritual drift, and the weight of unrepentant sin. We lift this burden to the Lord with reverence, urgency, and unwavering trust in His justice and mercy.

First, we rejoice in your posture of forgiveness. You have chosen to forgive as Christ forgave, even from the cross, saying, "Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they do" (Luke 23:34). This is not weakness; it is the power of the gospel at work in you. Forgiveness does not mean ignoring sin, but releasing bitterness and entrusting justice to God. You have done well to forgive, yet we must also acknowledge the seriousness of what has transpired. Adultery is a grievous sin that breaks the marriage covenant (Matthew 19:4-6), and the absence of repentance compounds the wound. Scripture is clear: "The one who commits adultery destroys his own soul" (Proverbs 6:32). Yet even here, God’s heart is for repentance, not ruin, "Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Lord God. Rather, don’t I delight when he turns from his evil way and lives?" (Ezekiel 33:11).

You have rightly identified the need for her to experience true repentance, a turning from sin, and a new birth in Christ (John 3:3-7). This is not merely emotional sorrow, but a radical transformation of the heart, "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh" (Ezekiel 36:26). We pray fervently for this miracle in her life. Lord, open her eyes to the deception of sin and the beauty of Your holiness. Let her see the cross not as a distant symbol, but as the place where her rebellion meets Your mercy. Break the chains of spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:4) and let the light of Christ penetrate her heart (John 1:5). We declare over her the promise of Jeremiah 31:33: "I will put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be My people."

We also lift up the family members involved, especially those who may be influenced by her choices. Protect the youth from stumbling (Matthew 18:6) and grant wisdom to those who interact with her. Let them walk in the fear of the Lord (Proverbs 9:10) and not be deceived by smooth words or worldly counsel. We pray they would be bold witnesses to the truth, even when it is costly.

Your mention of fasting is powerful. The early church understood that fasting humbles the soul and sharpens spiritual discernment. Jesus Himself said that some battles are only won through prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29). We join you in this discipline, asking God to grant you supernatural strength and clarity as you seek His will. Let your fasting be a fragrant offering before Him, a declaration that your hope is in Him alone.

Now, we must address the matter of divorce with biblical clarity. You have rightly noted the exception Jesus gave for marital unfaithfulness (Matthew 5:32, 19:9) and the provision for desertion by an unbelieving spouse (1 Corinthians 7:15). These are not loopholes, but gracious allowances for those who have been sinned against. Yet your heart is not to divorce, but to see redemption. This is commendable. We pray that God would either restore your marriage through genuine repentance or give you the wisdom to know when to walk away if she remains hardened. Either way, your identity is not in her response, but in Christ. You are not defined by her choices, but by your calling as a child of God.

We also note your concern for her salvation. This is the highest priority. If she is not truly born again, then no amount of behavioral change will save her soul. We pray that God would draw her to Himself (John 6:44), that she would repent and believe the gospel (Mark 1:15), and that her life would become a testimony of His grace (1 Timothy 1:15-16). If she is saved but backslidden, we pray for her restoration (James 5:19-20). Either way, we ask that God would use this situation to bring glory to His name.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of faith in Your power to redeem and restore. We lift up this marriage to You, knowing that nothing is impossible for You. Lord, we ask that You would soften this wife’s heart. Break the hardness that has taken root, and replace it with a heart that longs for You. Let her see the gravity of her sin, but also the boundless mercy available in Christ. Father, if she does not know You, save her. If she has wandered, bring her back. Let her experience the new birth that Jesus spoke of, a transformation so radical that it is like being born again (John 3:3).

We pray for wisdom for our brother. Give him discernment to know Your will, whether that is reconciliation or release. Strengthen him to stand firm in faith, not wavering between hope and despair. Let him find his peace in You, not in her response. Teach him to love as You love, with truth and grace, never compromising one for the other.

Protect this family from further harm. Guard the hearts of the young and impressionable. Let them see Christ in the midst of this storm, and let their faith grow stronger, not weaker. Raise up godly influences in their lives who will speak truth and model integrity.

Father, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. If there is to be restoration, let it be a testimony of Your power to heal and redeem. If there is to be separation, let it be a testimony of Your faithfulness to the wounded. Either way, let Your name be exalted.

We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who reconciles us to God and to one another. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking godly counsel. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround yourself with believers who will pray with you, hold you accountable, and speak truth into your situation. You are not alone. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He will lead you through this valley. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We can feel the weight you've been carrying, the long nights, the fasting, the way you keep choosing forgiveness when everything in you might want to give up. Your prayer is drenched in Scripture because you've been saturating your heart in it, and we honor that. What stands out most is not the theology you've gathered but the posture you keep returning to: "Nevertheless, let Your will be done." That is no small surrender.

You've already made the decision to forgive, that's clear. But as you've likely discovered, decisional forgiveness can be extended even while the emotional wounds still ache. The two don't always move at the same pace, and that's not a failure on your part. You can release her to God repeatedly, day by day, while still feeling the sting and the grief. Let yourself grieve. The marriage covenant was broken, and it's right to mourn that.

At the same time, we'd encourage you not to walk this road alone. You're carrying enormous spiritual weight for someone who isn't choosing to engage with you. A trusted pastor, a mature friend, or a counselor can help you process what you're feeling, discern wise boundaries, and stay grounded when the waiting feels unbearable. Even the most devoted intercessors need someone checking in on their own soul.

And if the weight ever tips toward despair or thoughts that life has lost its meaning, please reach out to someone immediately. You can find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com, or contact your local emergency services. You matter deeply, and you don't have to endure this in isolation.

Father, we lift up this husband who has poured out his heart before You. You see the cost of every prayer, every fast, every choice to forgive again. Sustain him in the waiting. Give him wisdom that doesn't rush ahead of Your timing, and surround him with people who will weep with him, pray with him, and help him carry this load. For his wife, we ask what only You can do, open eyes that are blind, soften what has grown hard, and draw her to genuine repentance and life. But more than anything, we rest in this: Your will is better than ours, and Your love holds them both. In Jesus' name.

Your spirit of forgiveness is a sweet savor of Christ's own heart, who even upon the tree cried, "Father, forgive them." Yet true forgiveness must ever be joined to a longing that the erring one should know that repentance which giveth God the glory. There is a repentance that ariseth merely from the bitter consequences of sin, a repentance of the flesh that leaveth the heart unchanged. This was the repentance of those upon whom the judgments fell, yet "they repented not to give Him glory." The repentance which is the work of the Spirit and which God accepteth, this alone giveth God glory. It is a repentance that needeth not to be repented of, making a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work.

You plead for a new heart, for the stony ground to be broken, for that divine renewal promised in Ezekiel. This is the very gift of the covenant: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you." Yet mark well: repentance is not a preparation for grace; it is the first result of grace working within the soul. We are not to preach repentance after the manner of John the Baptist, as a mere preparation, but in the name of Jesus Christ, as the gift of His hand. God giveth repentance, and where it is truly given, there is the full and free forgiveness of sins. The smallest sincere repentance, if it be but a grain of mustard seed, saveth the soul, for it is the germ of life eternal.

You have set your mind upon her salvation, and right it is so to pray, for the Lord desireth not the death of the wicked. Yet remember, salvation is not a matter of conditions met, but of looking unto Christ. "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth." The way is simple, instantaneous. Faith and repentance come together as the first marks of the new birth. If she is brought to true faith, repentance will not be wanting. But if she trust to her own repentance, or even her own faith, she might as well trust to her sins. Her only hope, and ours, is the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's bloody tree.

You have taken the posture of the garden, saying, "Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done." This is a safe resting place. Continue in prayer, in fasting, in forgiving, and in watching for her soul. For if any wander from the truth and one turn her back, it is counted as a soul saved from death and a multitude of sins covered. Yet be not cast down if the work seem slow. The breaking and bruising of soul are fit treatments to draw forth the sweetness of grace. Repentance liveth as long as faith; it is not a bitter thing only, but sweet Sister Repentance, whose company we shall scarce regret to part with even at the gates of pearl.

Let your own joy be in the Lord's salvation. Rejoice in His salvation, for it is divine in its planning, its purchase, its application. He who has begun a good work in you will perform it. And as for the wanderer, leave her in the hands of Him who openeth eyes blinded by the god of this world, who turneth from darkness to light. Your part is to be a living epistle, known and read of all, reflecting the love of Christ to His spouse. He loved the Church and gave Himself for her; so let your life portray that patient, holy love which may yet, by God's grace, win her to consider Him.
