Praying for this request in Jesus Name. Amen.
We hear your heart cry for repentance and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name, for this is the very thing God desires from each of us. Repentance is not just feeling sorry or feeling guilty, it is a turning of the heart and mind away from sin and toward God, a change that bears fruit in a changed life. The Scripture says in Acts 3:19, Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. And in 2 Corinthians 7:10 we are taught, For godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death. Worldly sorrow is regret at being caught or at the consequences, but godly sorrow agrees with God that sin is sin and turns from it to follow Christ.
We want to gently point out that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we would be unloving if we did not tell you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that repentance has power to save. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Repentance without faith in Jesus is incomplete, because forgiveness is only through His shed blood on the cross and His resurrection. Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We also remember the warning of Jesus in Luke 13:3, I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way. God in His kindness invites us to repent, for Romans 2:4 says it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance.
We also want to encourage you that when we truly confess and turn, God is faithful to forgive. 1 John 1:9 promises, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. True repentance will also bring forth fruit worthy of repentance as Matthew 3:8 says, so we are called not to return to the same sin but to walk in newness of life by the power of the Holy Spirit, seeking to obey His Word daily.

We bring this heart that longs for repentance before You and ask that You grant genuine godly sorrow and a complete turning from all sin. Wash us with the blood of Jesus, blot out our transgressions, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us. Give us faith to believe that Jesus is Lord and that You raised Him from the dead, and help us to walk in obedience bearing fruit worthy of repentance. Lead us in times of refreshing in Your presence and keep us from returning to the old way. We trust in Your faithful and righteous forgiveness and we ask for strength to live holy lives that honor You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue in daily confession, to turn from anything that grieves the Lord, to read His Word, to pray, and to fellowship with believers who will help you walk in accountability and holiness. If there are specific sins you need to turn from, bring them honestly before God by name, forsake them, and receive His cleansing. He is near to the brokenhearted and will not despise a contrite heart.

It is a hopeful token of the Spirit's work when the soul cries out for repentance, and not merely for relief from trouble. Many are sorry because sin has found them out and its bitter fruit is in their mouth, but true repentance sorrows because sin itself is an offence against so good a God. While we thought God a hard master, sin seemed a trifle, but when we see His goodness and His mercy in Christ, we deeply regret that we have sinned against such love.
Take heed that your repentance be not transient or superficial. There is a repentance that lasts only while the smart of judgment is felt, and then returns to sin with greater gusto, as a man may abstain from food only to sharpen his appetite. God is not mocked. He sees through the film that would hide the ulcer. The truly repentant one hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. Repentance makes a rainbow with her tears of grief for sin and her glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. She stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven, and then she repents more than ever.
This is the repentance to which forgiveness is joined, for forgiveness is according to the riches of His grace. Sin is a great thing and needed a great Sacrifice to put it away, and that Sacrifice has been offered. The blood of Jesus Christ, the sinner's Substitute, has been shed, and through it there is a great forgiveness, complete and divine. No priest can absolve, for God only can remit sin, but He blots out transgression for His own sake and remembers it no more. If washing will not do, He will use blood and fire, but He will cleanse the soul that comes with a broken and contrite heart, for a broken heart can never long be divided from the broken Saviour.
Remember also that faith and repentance are inseparable. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is the same work that admits Christ to be sole Master of the heart. He came not to save us in our sins, but to save us from them, and wherever He takes away the guilt of sin He also kills the love of it. Therefore turn, and that with more than a turning from open vice to mere morality. Turn from death itself to the living God. Look at sin and see its flower, which is death and hell, and flee from it as you would flee from death. Confess it fully before the Lord without hiding, not as a despairing remorse that ends in darkness, but as a humble confession that casts itself upon His mercy.
May the Lord grant you this grace now. I pray that He would give you a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise, that He would wash you thoroughly from iniquity and cleanse you from sin, that He would open your lips to sing aloud of His righteousness, and that you would find peace with Him as you are made to be at war with sin. Return unto Him with unfeigned repentance through Jesus Christ alone, for His is the only name by which we are saved, and He will have mercy upon you and abundantly pardon.
