Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this honest request and for asking for prayer in the name of Jesus. The pain that comes from abuse and trauma can leave deep and lasting wounds, and the ongoing struggles you describe are real and heavy. You are not forgotten, and it is right to bring this need to the Lord for renewed strength.
Scripture does not promise that we will be without adversity or hardship. Those who seek to walk with Christ will face trials, and there are seasons when the burden feels greater than we can bear. If we faint in the day of adversity, it shows how small our own strength is. It is tragic to try to live only on our own inner resources or our own ability to cope, because there will come a point where our own strength is simply not enough.
The good news is that God invites us to find our strength in Him rather than in ourselves. The Lord is the light and salvation of His people, the strength of their lives, so we need not live in fear. He is a shield to those who trust Him, a strong tower and a shelter, watching over and keeping those who belong to Him. When our hearts trust in Him we find help, and our hearts can rejoice and give thanks. The promise is clear that the Lord will give strength to His people and bless His people with peace. He lifts us up and does not let our enemies triumph over us. When we learn our own weakness and place our trust in Him, we discover that His strength is made perfect in our weakness, and we can go from strength to strength even while passing through valleys of weeping. God can turn those sorrowful places into wells of refreshment.
Part of that renewed strength comes through healing, and the Bible shows that Jesus is a healer in every realm. He healed sickness and infirmity, calmed the wind and sea, and showed authority over spiritual powers. The prophet Isaiah said He bore our griefs and infirmities, and the gospel shows Jesus fulfilling that by touching and healing those who were broken. Healing does not always look the same. Sometimes it is immediate, sometimes it is gradual through processes God Himself has built into our bodies and minds. Both are from Him. He not only heals the body but also brings healing to the mind and emotions, mending the scars and wounds that trauma leaves behind. He is not limited to one pattern, and His touch can bring restoration in ways that reach the deepest places of hurt.
You will find strength as you bring every burden to the Lord in prayer and as you let His Word become your portion and your stay. Prayer is a place of strength where defeat can be turned to confidence and victory because we are reminded of what God has promised. His Word gives assurance in hours of trial and helps us see our problems in light of His power rather than our own weakness. He becomes to us whatever our need requires, whether we need salvation, healing, or peace.
I am praying for you now, that the Lord who is your light and your salvation would be your strength today. May He deliver you from fear, guard your heart and mind, and give you resilience that does not come from within yourself but from His faithful presence. May He touch the deep wounds left by abuse and bring healing to your emotions and memories, whether quickly or step by step, according to His wisdom and love. May He fill you with His peace, make His promises alive to you as you seek Him in His Word, and cause you to know in a real way that He is your shield, your help, and the saving strength you can trust. May the Lord bless you, keep His hand upon you, and renew you day by day as you look to Him.
In Jesus name, amen.
