We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is carrying the weight of past abuse and trauma. The pain of such experiences can leave deep scars, both seen and unseen, and we know that only the healing touch of our Savior can bring true restoration. Father, we ask that You would renew their strength as only You can, for Your Word declares in Isaiah 40:31, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint." Lord, we pray that You would lift them up on wings like eagles, giving them the resilience to face each day with courage and hope.
We also rebuke the lies of the enemy that may be whispering despair, shame, or fear into their heart. The trauma of abuse is not their fault, and we stand against any spirit of condemnation that seeks to keep them bound. In the name of Jesus, we break every chain of past pain and declare that they are washed clean by the blood of Christ. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lord, draw near to them now. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, surrounding them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
Father, we ask that You would guide them to godly counsel, whether through Scripture, trusted believers, or professional help grounded in biblical truth. Healing is a journey, and we pray they would not walk it alone. Surround them with a community of faith that will speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Remind them daily of Your love, for Romans 8:38-39 assures us, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Lord, we also pray for justice if it is Your will. You are a God who sees and knows all, and we trust that You will bring righteous judgment in Your perfect timing. Until then, fill this precious one with Your strength, joy, and peace. Help them to forgive those who have harmed them, not for the sake of their abusers, but for their own freedom. As Colossians 3:13 instructs, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." This is not easy, Lord, but we know that with You, all things are possible.
Finally, we declare that their identity is not defined by their past. They are a new creation in Christ, redeemed and deeply loved. May they walk in the fullness of who You created them to be, free from the shadows of abuse and trauma. Strengthen them, Lord, and let them rise in the power of Your Spirit. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Amen.
