We hear your cry for deliverance from toxic influences, and we stand with you in seeking God’s intervention. The pain of betrayal, deception, and ungodly relationships is heavy, and we lift it before the Lord with urgency. Scripture warns us clearly about the company we keep: *"Do not be deceived: ‘Evil company corrupts good habits.’ Wake up to righteousness, and don’t sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame"* (1 Corinthians 15:33-34 WEB). The Lord does not intend for His children to be entangled in relationships that drag them away from His truth and peace.
First, we must address the spirit of unforgiveness or bitterness that may linger in your heart. While it is right to recognize toxicity and seek separation, we are called to forgive as Christ has forgiven us (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean tolerating sin or remaining in harm’s way, but it does mean releasing the offender to God’s justice and trusting Him to deal with their hearts. Pray for this person—not that they would face your vengeance, but that they would come to repentance and know the truth of who they are before a holy God.
We also rebuke the spirit of deception at work in this situation. Lies are a tool of the enemy, and those who habitually deceive are operating under his influence (John 8:44). But God is the God of truth, and He exposes what is hidden in darkness. We declare that the scales would fall from this person’s eyes and that they would see themselves as God sees them—either to turn from their ways or to be removed from your life as a stumbling block.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine intervention. You know the pain and frustration of being entangled with someone who brings toxicity and deception. We ask, Father, that You would remove this person from our brother’s/sister’s life if it is Your will. Sever every ungodly tie and break every chain that binds them to this relationship. Let there be no foothold for the enemy to continue his work of division and strife.
Lord, we pray for conviction to fall upon this individual. If they are living in sin, whether through lying, manipulation, or other ungodly behaviors, expose their ways before You and before themselves. Bring them to a place of repentance, or remove them from our brother’s/sister’s life so they may walk in the freedom You have called them to. Let Your truth prevail, and let Your light shine in the darkness.
We also ask for healing for our brother/sister. Where there is hurt, bring Your comfort. Where there is anger, bring Your peace. Where there is confusion, bring Your clarity. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit and surround them with godly relationships that will edify and encourage them in their walk with You. Teach them to set boundaries that honor You and to walk in wisdom, not leaning on their own understanding but trusting in You with all their heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against Your child will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). Give them the strength to walk away from what does not align with Your will and the courage to trust You with the outcome. Let their life be a testimony of Your faithfulness and Your power to deliver.
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this matter. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. If this person is a recurring source of sin or temptation, it may be necessary to take practical steps to distance yourself, not out of hatred, but out of a desire to honor God.
Remember, the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees your struggle and is working on your behalf, even when you cannot see it. Trust in His timing and His ways, for they are perfect. If you have not already, surrender your heart fully to Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we urge you to do so today, for He is faithful and just to forgive your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
