Remove toxic people
We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this request for the removal of toxic influences. First, we must acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His name alone that we are saved. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so today, for He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Now, let us address the matter at hand. The Bible instructs us to be wise in our relationships and to guard our hearts diligently. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." Toxic people can drain our spiritual, emotional, and even physical well-being, and it is not God’s will for us to remain in harmful situations. We are called to love others, but that does not mean we must endure deceit, manipulation, or consistent ungodliness in our lives.
The individual mentioned here is described as a user and a liar, and Scripture is clear about the dangers of such people. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, "Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul." Lies and deceit are tools of the enemy, and we must not allow them to take root in our lives. Jesus Himself called Satan the "father of lies" (John 8:44), and we must rebuke any influence that aligns with his work.
