We hear your cry and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus' name, seeking His protection, peace and deliverance for you, your mother, your three children, their spouses and your pets. We understand how distressing it is to have intrusive thoughts and a voice in your mind speaking harm over you, especially in quiet moments like watering your garden that should be peaceful. We bring this before God who sees and hears and who is our refuge.

We rebuke the enemy and all evil influence that has tried to torment your mind. Scripture tells us to be sober and watchful, for your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour, but we are to withstand him steadfast in the faith, 1 Peter 5:8-9. We are also taught that we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers, Ephesians 6:12, and that we are to put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. Satan is a defeated foe. Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and when we submit ourselves to God and resist the devil he will flee from us, James 4:7. The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly, John 10:10.

We also hear the heaviness of those violent and hateful thoughts that say you should be shot, and we pray that the Lord will silence every lying voice and bring your mind under His perfect peace. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and to let the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you, Isaiah 26:3. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, and when the righteous cry, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles, Psalm 34:17.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by His blood which covers us, and we thank You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We ask You to place Your hand of protection over this dear one, over her mother, her three children, their spouses and over the pets You have entrusted to her care. Let those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. We ask You to rebuke Satan and every evil assignment against her mind and her household, to bind up every harassing spirit and to command it to leave and not return. Wash her mind with Your Word, renew her thoughts, and fill that garden time with Your presence instead of torment, with prayer and thanksgiving. Let no weapon formed against her prosper and let every tongue that rises against her in judgment be shown to be in the wrong. We forgive those who have spoken ill or wished harm, and we leave vengeance to You, for it is written vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19, and we pray You would bless even those who have desired her demise that they would turn from hate and be occupied with their own lives before You and come to repentance, as You desire all to be saved. We pray that You would grant her quietness, safety, and the ability to live in peace and harmony without fear or worry, whether at home or in secret places of rest You provide, and that she and her cats and her whole family would dwell in safety under the blood of Jesus. Fill her heart with Your joy and let her know she is deeply loved and held by You.

We encourage you to continue to call on the name of Jesus aloud whenever those intrusive thoughts come, to speak Scripture over your mind, to put on the armor of God daily through prayer and the Word, and to stay in fellowship with godly believers and a trusted pastor who can pray with you and counsel you in person. If these voices continue to distress you, we encourage you to also seek help from a pastor or Christian counselor and a trusted medical professional so you are not carrying this alone. Keep turning your garden time into prayer time, thanking God for His creation and His protection, and let His Word dwell richly in you.

We trust the Lord to keep you and your loved ones in His perfect peace and to guard your home. We pray all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Father, we bring this family before You and ask for Your peace to guard their minds and home. Cover them with the blood of Jesus, quiet what is troubling and threatening, and draw them close to Your care. Your cry has been heard, and the distress of your mind and the heaviness that has pressed upon you in your home and in your garden is not hidden from the Lord. You have spoken of tormenting thoughts and a voice that ought never to be heard, of fear for yourself and for your mother and your children and their spouses and your pets, and of a longing to live in peace under the blood of Jesus. That longing is right and good, and the Lord who sees you knows it fully.

The Scripture says, I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Remember that the infinite God has thoughts of peace toward you, and though your own thoughts have been troubled and assailed, His thoughts are not as your thoughts. His thoughts are certain and numerous and tender and infinitely wise, and they are very practical, for with Him to will is to do. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace. When the mind is crowded with accusations and with that cruel suggestion that you should be harmed, know that such thoughts are not from God. God's thoughts toward His people are peace, and the negative is expressly inserted for our comfort, not of evil.

We are outside of Eden's gate with the rest of Adam's family, and no screen is set around the godly to protect them from suffering in this present world. We would gladly follow peace with all men, yet at times we are forced to cry that our soul has long dwelt with those that hate peace. Do not condemn yourself because a cloud is over you. Even David, who loved God's law, was a man of war from his youth and was hunted like a partridge upon the mountains, yet he found that to love the law is to find great peace of mind, the peace of resignation to God and acquiescence in His will.

Your hope is not in your own power to bind the enemy or to still the voice by your own strength. The whole of the victory results from Christ's own work. He has overcome the world, and in Him you may have good cheer. As the result of His death, Satan's power is broken. The Seed of the woman shall trample on the serpent. This good ship bears the Red Cross at her masthead and shall never be taken, but shall win the victory as surely as God lives and His Son lives who has risen from the dead. The peace that you seek only comes from God. You cannot work it out yourself. It is peace from lips that cannot lie, peace from a heart which cannot change, peace through the blood which has made a full atonement. The Lord will bless His people with peace, and that peace is given in the time of tempest and after the storm.

If your thoughts run one way and God's thoughts run in the opposite direction, you cannot have fellowship with Him. Your thoughts must be conformed to His thoughts, and this is done by faith. Lay hold on God's thoughts by faith. Cease from covetousness and from quarreling with God, and reach forward to love His law and to stand in awe of it and rejoice over it. Let His Word dwell in you, and let prayer be your continual resort, even in that quiet time when you water your garden. When you awake, still you are with Him, and such thoughts help to restore God's presence to you if for a while you have lost the sense of it.

We pray for you now, that the Lord Jesus Christ, who has overcome the world and who has broken the power of the evil one, would keep you and your mother and your three children and their spouses and your pets under the covering of His blood. We ask that He would rebuke every evil influence and silence every accusing voice that has no power over those who are in Christ, and that He would guard your mind and heart with His own peace which passes all understanding. We ask that He would give you to live in peace and harmony, with no worries, and that He would make your home a place of quiet trust in Him, and that He would cause you to know that His thoughts toward you are precious and constant and kind.

Cast your care upon Him, and continue to look to Christ alone for salvation and for keeping. Draw near to His Word daily, seek the fellowship of faithful believers who can walk with you and pray with you, and if these distressing voices and thoughts press heavily upon you, do not bear them alone but speak openly with a trusted pastor or godly counselor and with those who care for you, that you may be helped and watched over with care. May His own Spirit make you feel that the thoughts of the Lord are peace, and may you find that perfect peace and joyous confidence which your deepest and most anxious thoughts can never achieve for you, but which God's thoughts can lift you to as on eagle's wings.
