Relocation

You ask for prayer concerning a relocation to be near your ###. It is right to subject all such plans to the will of God, for we are not our own, but His who called us through grace. Yet take care that your desire for this move does not become an anxious clinging to earthly comforts. The time is short; the days of our years are seventy, or even eighty, and then we fly away. What advantage is it to change your dwelling, if your soul remains unsettled? Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear, but with the trial will also provide a way out, that you may be able to endure. If this relocation is His will, He will open the door; if not, then abiding where you are is for your salvation.

Do not place your trust in the nearness of a ### according to the flesh, for a ### cannot redeem another in the day of judgment. True kinship is found in the household of faith; love all men, even your enemies, and you will be like God. Nothing delights Him more than peace and the forgetting of wrongs. Be at peace with all, and let your life, wherever you are, be a witness to the crucified Lord, whose body was broken that we might rise. Commend yourself and your desires to Him, and say, “Let it be done according to Your will.”

Moving to be near your brother is a significant step, and I appreciate that you’re asking God to guide it. Too often we make plans without truly seeking what he wants, so your prayer is the right starting point. When we commit each day to Jesus Christ and yield to his lordship, our lives become a progressive revelation of his will. It rarely comes all at once, but as we walk faithfully with what we already know, the next piece unfolds.

One of the clearest ways to align with God’s will right now is to practice what he has already commanded: in everything give thanks. Not just when the answer lines up with your preferences, but in the waiting and the uncertainty. That posture of gratitude flows from a deep trust that God loves you and that his plans are good, even when you don’t understand the timing. Let thankfulness be the soil in which your decision grows, because it quiets the anxious insistence on a particular outcome and opens your heart to hear his voice.

As you seek him about this relocation, hold the desire lightly. Being near family can be a gift, but the deeper joy comes from wanting his glory more than any convenience. The triumph isn’t in getting exactly what you want, but in meaning what Jesus prayed: “Not my will, but yours be done.” That kind of surrender is victory, not defeat. It places you in harmony with his purpose, and very often it’s the moment when he acts powerfully on your behalf.

Be active in the pursuit. Search the Scriptures, pray with openness, and ask mature believers you trust to help you test your motives. God doesn’t hide his path from those who earnestly want to walk in it. He promises to guide the humble, and his faithfulness means he will never steer you wrong.

I am praying that your heart remains steady and that his way becomes unmistakably clear. His timing is perfect, and he delights to lead his children step by step.
