We understand that you're going through a challenging time with religious OCD and intrusive thoughts, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth. First, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. It is in His name that we pray and are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In addressing your concern, let's turn to God's Word. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB, we're told to take every thought captive and be obedient to Christ. In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, the Apostle Paul encourages us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." You see God is a God of peace and not of confusion. Intrusive thoughts want to keep you in a state of confusion and not peace and rest.
It is also important to declare the truth of God's Word over your situation and to speak against any spiritual attacks from the enemy. We know that God is not the author of confusion or harmful thoughts. In John 10:10 WEB, Jesus tells us that the thief, Satan, comes to steal, kill and destroy, but He, Jesus, came so that we may have life, and have it abundantly.
Let us pray together for you:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is battling with religious OCD and intrusive thoughts. We stand against any attacks from the enemy and declare that these thoughts have no power over him. We ask, Lord, that You would remind him of Your truth, and that You would help him to take every thought captive and be obedient to Christ.
We pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask for complete healing and deliverance, according to Your will. Help him to fix his thoughts on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, excellent and worthy of praise as it is written in Philippians 4:8 WEB. Equip him with Your strength to stand against these thoughts and overcome them in the name of Jesus.
We also ask that you remind him of your love for him in John 3:16 WEB "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." and in 1 John 3:16 WEB "By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.". In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, God is faithful, and He cares for you greatly. Stand firm in His Word, and do not be dismayed by these thoughts. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you through this.
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7 WEB
