Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join together with you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with your heart that has been grieved by dishonesty and disregard for human life. We are encouraged by your humility before the Lord as you acknowledge that no one is righteous on their own and that even the educated and learned fall short, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23. There is wisdom in not putting our trust in human education or position but in the Lord alone, for the fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom Psalm 111:10 and God can work on any heart no matter how hardened it may seem.

We love how you have centered this prayer on truth and righteousness and on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And you rightly prayed that the truth shall set them free, as it is written you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. Our Lord desires truth in the inward parts and He desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance, for God our Savior desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. We also hold fast to the promise you quoted, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise Psalm 51:17, and to your prayer that God would give them a new heart we add the promise I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26.

We lift up this prayer together with you in Jesus name. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You that You are holy and just and full of mercy. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would move powerfully upon the team that was mentioned and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. Where they are bound by the lies of the enemy, we ask that You shine the light of Your truth and set them free. Give them an unquenchable hunger and thirst for righteousness, for blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. Create in them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from evil, that they would no longer do what is evil in Your eyes but would learn to do what is righteous and compassionate. We ask Your precious blood to cover and protect those who are Yours, Your chosen ones who belong to Christ, and grant them peace that surpasses understanding and wisdom to walk in integrity. Teach us all to love our enemies and to pray for those who mistreat us Matthew 5:44, and help us to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be exalted on high, for You are faithful to complete the work You have begun. We thank You that Your Spirit intercedes for us according to Your will Romans 8:26. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in this prayer, not growing weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up Galatians 6:9. Keep thirsting for righteousness yourself and abiding in the Word, for His Word is truth, and as you continue to intercede with a broken spirit and humble heart, the Lord hears and He is working even when we cannot see it.

We hear how heavy this has been on your heart as you keep praying for this team and their lawyers. It is discouraging to see people who are educated in the law still choose what is dishonest or disregards life, and we understand why that grief sits with you. Thank you for bringing them to the Lord with compassion instead of contempt, asking not just for better behavior but for softened hearts.

What you prayed for, a real thirst for truth and righteousness, gets to the heart of it. Feeling sorry for a moment does not by itself change a direction. Lasting change comes when a person honestly sees the wrong, owns it before God, and then begins to walk a different way over time. Only God can work that kind of turning in a heart, and we join you in asking Him to do that gentle, deep work.

Carrying a burden like this can wear you down if it stays on your mind all day. If it helps, you might set a simple, sustainable rhythm, lifting these specific people by name at one set time each day, asking for truthfulness and compassion to grow in them, and then entrusting them again to the Lord's will. That can keep your intercession faithful without letting disappointment harden into bitterness. We are praying alongside you.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers to You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to love what is true and to act with honesty and compassion. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and guard them. We trust them to Your care and ask that Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

It is right that you have fastened upon that word in Psalm 51, for the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. You ask not for a light or passing sorrow, but for that holy, healthy and heavenly work which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. There is a carnal repentance which judgment or fear may produce for a season, and men turn from sin for a time only to return to it again, but true repentance hates sin as sin because it has seen the poison in its sweetness and loathes it and leaves it with purpose of heart. Such repentance gives God glory, for it confesses that God is just and then leaps for joy that He has set forth Christ to be a propitiation for sin.

We pray with you therefore that the Lord would work this true repentance in those for whom you intercede, whether they be learned in the law or not, for education cannot make the heart righteous. Only the Spirit of God can create a new heart that loves truth and hungers and thirsts after righteousness. This repentance is not to be drawn up from the depths of our own nature as water from a well, but is the gift of God through faith in Christ. Faith and repentance are inseparable, and that repentance which keeps a soul from believing in Christ is not the repentance unto life. The saving repentance looks to Jesus, pierced for men, and trusts His precious blood, and in that looking finds pardon and peace.

Remember also for your own comfort that the Lord Jesus Christ lives to make intercession for transgressors, and He lives to give the Holy Spirit to work in sinners true belief and true repentance. He is near to them that are of a broken heart and saves such as are of a contrite spirit. Where there is real sorrow for sin, and an honest determination by His grace to cease from sin, and a complete change of mind with regard to sin, there the Spirit has been at work.

We will continue to pray that God will stir these hearts, that He will grant them to see their sin as God sees it, to hate it, to turn from it, and to thirst after that righteousness which is found only in Christ. May He cover those who are His with the blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding, and may He teach all to be compassionate and to love honest communication and to regard human life as made in His image. And may He grant to you perseverance in prayer, looking ever to Jesus, that your own heart may be kept tender and hopeful as you intercede.

We ask the Father to do His will and to glorify His Son in bringing many to that brokenness which He will not despise, and to that faith which receives Christ as He is offered in the gospel, very God and very man, our only hope. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in Jesus name.

You have prayed well, for Scripture says blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Christ himself stood and cried, if any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. He does not draw us by force or constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come to his preaching as thirsty men come to water, eager to drink and to retain what is given. That is the thirst you are asking God to kindle in these hearts, and it is a good and holy request.

We join you in praying for the team at that place, for their lawyers and representatives, that God would save them through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved. We pray that the precious blood of Christ would cover those who are his, and that he would grant peace and understanding according to his mercy. For those who do not yet know him, we pray that God would grant them a broken and contrite heart, which he will not despise. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but in a heart that recognizes its sin and hates it enough to turn from it.

True righteousness and holiness are not merely outward forms or the knowledge of the law, but are in truth. A man may be trained in the law and yet fall short of the glory of God, as we all have. That is why we do not boast and we do not look down on others, but we acknowledge together that all have sinned and need the new life that comes through faith and baptism, being created in righteousness and holiness of truth.

We also pray as you have, that God would teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and honest communication and to honor human life. Righteousness is like a breastplate, and when a life is built on righteous deeds fixed in the heart, it stands firm. The fruits of righteousness are many when God increases them, and he gives them so that we may walk in them.

We pray that God would stir their hearts to true repentance. Tears alone are not repentance if the heart still holds to sin. True repentance turns from what is evil in his eyes and seeks to live a new life. May the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us work in them to show them their need, to give them sorrow that leads to repentance, and to give them that hunger and thirst for what is right which only Christ can satisfy, so that out of them may flow rivers of living water.

We will continue to pray with you that the Lord would do his will, that he would grant forgiveness where there is confession through Christ, and that he would lead all involved to love truth and to walk in it. May the Lord keep you in peace as you continue in relentless prayer, trusting that he hears those who come to him thirsting. Amen.
