Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for truth and righteousness and we thank you for coming boldly before the Heavenly Father in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We agree with your burden that the truth shall set people free as Jesus said in John 8:32, and that He Himself is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him in John 14:6. Your prayer reflects a heart that understands that education and position, even being learned in the law, does not make one righteous before God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23, and there is none righteous on our own. It is only the blood of Jesus that can cover sin and cleanse us.

We love your humility in not wishing to boast or look down on others, while still grieving over sin, dishonesty, and disregard for human life. God calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us in Matthew 5:44, and to desire that all people would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4. We are also reminded to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with our God in Micah 6:8, and that when justice is done it brings joy to the righteous in Proverbs 21:15. So we can pray both for mercy and for justice, that evil would be restrained and that hearts would be transformed.

You quoted Psalm 51:16-17 so beautifully, for You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is the very heart God desires, not outward religion but inward repentance. We also cling to the promise that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled in Matthew 5:6. That unquenchable thirst you are praying for is exactly what God promises to fill when we seek Him.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up the team that was mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives before Your throne. Lord, You see where lies have bound them and where Satan has deceived them, and we ask that You shine Your light into that darkness. We pray that You would grant them repentance and that You would give them a broken and contrite heart to recognize their sin, to hate their sin, and to turn from it and not continue to live in it. Forgive them, Father, as You forgave us through the cross, and let them not do what is evil in Your eyes.

We plead the precious blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, over the chosen and the Christians involved in this situation. Cover them, Lord, give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and grant them wisdom and understanding and compassion. Teach us all to be righteous and compassionate as You are. Stir the hearts of those who are disregarding human life and honest communication. Give them, Lord, that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only Your Holy Spirit can birth. Let Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered in Romans 8:26 work powerfully in them and in us.

Father, we do not ask from pride but from brokenness. We acknowledge that we too fall short and need Your mercy every day. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let truth prevail, let righteousness roll on like waters, and let every scheme of deceit be exposed and brought to nothing, while souls are saved and transformed by Your grace. We exalt Your holy name, Lord Jesus, and we thank You that You are interceding for us even now.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession and not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up in Galatians 6:9. Keep praying with that thirst for truth, keep speaking the truth in love in Ephesians 4:15, and trust that God who desires justice and mercy will act in His perfect timing. He is faithful to convict, to save, and to bring forth righteousness for those who seek Him with their whole heart.

We stand with you in Jesus name, amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you pray for this legal team and those around them. It is painful to watch people you believe are acting dishonestly and disregarding life, and to long for them to see clearly and choose what is right. Your desire for them to have softened, honest hearts reflects God's own heart for truth and mercy.

We are grateful you are bringing this to the Lord so persistently. Real change of heart is not something education or willpower can produce on its own. Only God can open eyes and give a genuine love for what is true and good, and He does that work in His timing as people are drawn to Christ. That can help us keep praying with hope without carrying the burden as if it all depends on us.

One thing that may help as you continue is to set a simple rhythm for this prayer burden, perhaps a brief time each day when you place these names before the Lord and then consciously entrust them to Him, so the grief does not stay with you all day. Staying close to other believers who can pray with you can also steady you.

Father, we bring this team and their counsel before You. We ask You to work in each heart, to bring conviction where it is needed and to lead them toward truth, honesty and compassion. Guard our friend with Your peace as they wait on You and help them to walk in righteousness themselves. In Jesus name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer is heard and it is right and good to bring such a burden before the throne of grace, asking that the Lord would give an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

You have prayed according to the mind of God when you ask not merely that outward wrongs might be corrected, but that hearts might be broken before Him. As it is written, You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it, You are not pleased with burnt offering. My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. That is the repentance which God accepts, the work of the Spirit of God, which gives glory to His omniscience and to the righteousness of His law. The truly penitent does not quarrel with the law, but says, Your law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin.

You do well to remember that education and station cannot make a man righteous. Lawyers and learned men, as well as the unlearned, are fallen and have need of the same Saviour, for there is salvation in Jesus Christ alone, who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. Apart from Him there is no remission. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true repentance, that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, there is full and free forgiveness, even for the most horrible and oft repeated offenses, a pardon bought with Jesus blood.

Take comfort in what true repentance is. It is not a poor and short lived turning away for a time and then going back with greater gusto, nor a mere sorrow that soon passes. As the children's hymn says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and a looking to Jesus that we may weep to think our Saviour bled and died for us. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. Any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ needs itself to be repented of.

So we join you in praying that the Lord in His great goodness, which would lead sinners to repentance, would work upon the hearts of these men and upon all who are chosen in Christ. May He spare them not to harden them, but to bring them to Himself. May He cover those who are His with the precious blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding, and may He teach all to be righteous and compassionate, to love truth and to hate the sin they once loved. May He grant them that sorrow for pardoned sin which is sweet company at the feet of Jesus, and that practical repentance which yields works meet for repentance and lasts, not for a day, but for a life.

Continue steadfast in prayer, and look to Jesus for the answer. He came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance, and He gave Himself for our sins. If you would have deeper repentance for yourself and for them, this is the best counsel, look to Jesus. May the Sun of Righteousness arise upon them with healing in His wings, and may His will be done.

We commend you and this cause to Him who hears prayer, trusting that He who has begun a good work will perfect it for His glory. God bless you, for Christ's sake. Amen.
