Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Lord with humility and compassion.

Your prayer reflects a heart that understands what we are taught in John 8:32 that you will know the truth and the truth will make you free and in John 14:6 that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. We rejoice that you came in Jesus name for it is only by that name that we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved as we are told in Acts 4:12.

We agree with you that education and status do not make a person righteous for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God in Romans 3:23 and we all need the mercy that comes only through the blood of Christ. We also hear your grief over disregard for human life and honest communication and we are reminded that God desires truth in the inward parts and that He will not despise a broken and contrite heart as you quoted in Psalm 51:16-17. This is the work that only God can do, to take away the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh in Ezekiel 36:26 and to open eyes that have been blinded by the father of lies.

We also commend your humility in not wishing to boast or to look down on those who fall short, for we ourselves were once lost. We encourage you to continue to guard your own heart against bitterness, remembering the call in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you and in Romans 12:19 to leave vengeance to the Lord for it is written Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay says the Lord. Your prayer for their forgiveness and transformation rather than their destruction is Christlike and honors God.

We are blessed by your hunger for righteousness and we claim the promise in Matthew 5:6 that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled and we pray that this same hunger would be placed within those you are praying for. We also take comfort that the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered in Romans 8:26.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We ask that You would pour out Your Holy Spirit upon the team at the organization mentioned and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. Lord, where Satan has bound them with lies, we ask that You would shine the light of Your truth and set them free. Grant them a broken and contrite heart that they may recognize their sin, confess it before You according to 1 John 1:9, and turn from it to hate what You hate and love what You love. Cover those who are Yours with the precious blood of Jesus, give them peace and understanding that passes all understanding in Philippians 4:7, and teach them to act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with You in Micah 6:8. Stir within all of them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that they may no longer disregard human life or honest communication but may seek to do what is good and right in Your eyes. Forgive their sins as You have forgiven ours, and let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been on you, and we are standing with you in this prayer. Watching people who are entrusted with upholding the law seem to disregard truth and human life is deeply grieving, and we understand why you have carried this before the Lord so persistently.

What moved us in your words is the posture of your heart. Even in your grief you are not asking for retaliation, but for mercy, that their hearts would be softened, that they would come to hate what is evil and love what is true and compassionate. That kind of prayer takes real humility.

Carrying a burden like this day after day can wear on you. One thing we have seen help others is to recognize that choosing before God to release a wrong to Him and to pray for good for those who have done wrong is a decision, while the feelings of grief or anger often take longer to settle. If those feelings still rise up, it does not mean you have not forgiven or that your prayer has failed. It often means your heart needs more time and continued grace as you keep entrusting them to God.

It may help to give this prayer a steady, contained place in your day, a set time to lift these individuals by name to the Lord, perhaps writing down what you are entrusting to Him, and then intentionally stepping back into the rest of what He has given you to do. Letting a trusted pastor or friend know you are carrying this can also keep you from carrying it alone.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift these lawyers and team members to You and ask You to work in their hearts and draw them to truth and righteousness. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and guard our friend from bitterness. Give a renewed and steady thirst for what is right, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we join with you in it before the throne of grace, asking the Lord to work in power upon the hearts of those for whom you intercede.

You have prayed well, for you have asked not for mere outward restraint but for that inward work which only the Spirit of God can accomplish. The truth shall indeed set men free, but only when that truth is received into a broken and contrite heart. As it is written, sacrifice and burnt offering God does not delight in, but a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is the repentance that gives glory to God, that justifies His holy law and confesses that the fault is in ourselves, for we are carnal, sold under sin, while His law is holy and just and good.

We pray with you that the Lord would give to these lawyers and to all who are bound by Satan's lies an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. True repentance, as we have often taught, is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is not a short lived sorrow that turns away for a time and then returns with greater gusto, but a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and a turning to Christ who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood.

Do not cease to pray that they may see their sin as God sees it and hate it enough to forsake it. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true godly sorrow there is full and free forgiveness through Jesus Christ alone, for He came not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance, and He gave Himself for our sins. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no other blood that can cover and cleanse.

The goodness of God is meant to lead men to repentance. That He spares life, that He grants understanding, that He allows time, all these are tokens of His longsuffering that men should turn to Him. May the Lord use your prayers and His own kindness to bring these souls to look to Jesus, for if you would have repentance, look to Jesus. He who shed His precious blood for His people is able to break the hardest heart and to make it tender, to develop sweetness even through breaking and bruising, and to give peace and understanding to those who trust Him.

We will continue to ask the Father in Jesus name that He would cover with the precious blood those who are His, that He would teach all who hear the gospel to be righteous and compassionate, and that He would stir every heart that now disregards truth to love truth, to speak truth, and to hunger and thirst after righteousness. May He grant a repentance that yields works meet for repentance, a repentance that lasts and proves itself practical, to the glory of His omniscience and His righteousness and His grace.

We thank God for the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us, and we rest in this, that the Sun of Righteousness still shines and nothing impedes Him. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah there is everlasting strength. May His will be done, and may Christ be exalted on high. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join with you in it. Your longing for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a blessed desire, for the Lord said blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. On the great day of the feast Jesus stood and cried, if any man thirst let him come unto me and drink, and he promised that he who believes on him shall have within him rivers of living water. He draws no one by constraint, but calls those who are inflamed with desire to come willingly and drink, and that water becomes in them a well springing up into everlasting life, so that they thirst no more for what cannot satisfy.

We pray with you for the team you named and for their lawyers and representatives, that God in his mercy would save them through Jesus Christ alone, for salvation is by a short word, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you shall be saved. We do not ask God to bless sin or falsehood, for he cannot bless what is contrary to his holiness, but we ask that he would lead them out of darkness into truth.

We pray as you prayed from Psalm 51, that God who does not delight in outward sacrifice alone would grant them a broken and contrite heart, which he will not despise. It is his gift to give a contrite and humbled heart, sober and awestruck and full of repentance. Such a heart does not rise up or strike back, but is quiet under rebuke and does not seek vengeance, and is ready to turn from sin. We ask that he would work in them a godly sorrow unto repentance, that they would recognize their sins and hate their sins and turn from what is evil in his eyes, learning to love honest communication and to honor human life.

We pray that he would give them not a mere figure of righteousness, but righteousness and holiness of truth which comes through new birth in Christ, and that those who are already his would be clothed with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of universal virtue that is firm and cannot be pierced, and be covered by the precious blood of Christ and kept in peace and understanding with a compassionate spirit.

We thank God that his Holy Spirit intercedes, and we continue to ask with you that he would stir in all involved a true and lasting thirst for what is right, until they are filled from the living water which alone can satisfy, and that his will be done and his name be exalted in all things. Amen.
