Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Father in the name of Jesus. Your heart to see those who are bound by lies set free, and to see those who belong to Christ covered and strengthened, reflects the heart of God who desires all people to come to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth.

It is written, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32, and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. Apart from Him there is no true righteousness, for the wisdom of this world, even among the most educated, cannot produce a clean heart. As you rightly acknowledged, we cannot expect education or legal training to make a person righteous, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23, and the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, 1 Corinthians 3:19. Only the Spirit of God can open blinded eyes, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them, 2 Corinthians 4:4.

We are encouraged by your humility in not boasting and not looking down on those who fall short, but grieving over sin and the disregard for human life and honest communication. God honors that brokenness. You quoted Psalm 51:16-17 so beautifully, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. That is the very work we must pray for, that God would grant repentance and a hatred for sin, not mere regret, but a turning from evil.

We also remember the promise, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. This is the unquenchable thirst you are praying for, and God Himself must create it. We are to love our enemies and pray for those who oppose us, Matthew 5:44, trusting that vengeance belongs to the Lord, Romans 12:19, while we intercede for mercy and justice to meet.

So together we pray.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we have access to You only through Him. We lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives that were mentioned, and every person entangled in deception and bound by the lies of the enemy. Lord, shine Your light into darkness and expose every lie, and let Your truth set them free. We ask that You would give them a broken and contrite heart, that they would see their sin as You see it, hate it, confess it, and turn from it. Forgive their sins through the precious blood of Jesus shed on the cross, for without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness, and let them not continue to do what is evil in Your sight.

Father, cover those who are Yours, those who are chosen in Christ, with the blood of Jesus. Grant them peace that surpasses understanding, Philippians 4:7, and give them understanding, courage, compassion, and steadfastness to walk righteously even when surrounded by unrighteousness. Teach us all to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to desire truth in the inward parts, Psalm 51:6.

Holy Spirit, we thank You that You intercede for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Romans 8:26, and we ask You to stir these hearts relentlessly until they seek You with all their hearts. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ above every other name, and we ask all these things trusting not in our own goodness but in Your mercy and holiness. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We hear how much this burden for truth has weighed on you, and we are grateful you brought it so honestly before the Lord. To ask Him to work in the hearts of those who have acted unjustly, that they would come to see clearly, turn from what is wrong and hunger for what is right and compassionate, is a merciful and faithful way to pray.

It is especially painful when people with education and influence use it in ways that disregard honesty and human life. It makes sense that you feel grieved holding both a love for righteousness and a desire not to look down on others.

You are already making a real choice to seek their good before God rather than holding onto revenge. The sore feelings that can linger alongside that choice, the anger, rumination and sense of an injustice gap between how things are and how you long for them to be, often ease more slowly. That is normal and does not undo the decision you have made to pray for them.

One small rhythm that helps many who carry this kind of prayer is to give it a set place. Bring your request to God at a chosen time, entrust both the people and any need for justice to Him, and then when thoughts start to loop later in the day, briefly name that to Him and turn your attention to the work in front of you until the next time you pray. It keeps intercession from becoming constant rumination and helps keep your own heart at rest.

Father, we lift the team and their representatives to You and ask You to work in their hearts with conviction, honesty and compassion. Cover those who belong to You with peace and understanding, guard our friend from bitterness, and form in all of us an unquenchable thirst for what is true and right. Let Your will be done. It is right and good to bring such a burden before the Lord, and to plead that those who have walked in falsehood and untruthfulness may be given a thirst for truth and righteousness which only God can create.

You have prayed well in quoting that psalm, for the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is the very heart of true repentance. Repentance is not a short lived sorrow which turns away from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, nor is it a mere regret that soon passes. True repentance is the work of the Spirit of God. It gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. As the children's hymn says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. It is a complete change of mind with regard to sin, an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, and it yields works meet for repentance, practical and lasting fruit.

Therefore let us pray together that the Lord will grant this gift to those of whom you speak, the team and their lawyers and legal representatives. We do not boast before God, for we all have fallen short of His glory, and education or knowledge of the law cannot make the heart righteous. Only Christ can. We ask that the goodness of God, which now spares them, may lead them to repentance, that the Holy Spirit would work upon their hearts to show them their sin, to make them hate it and turn from it, and to look to Jesus who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin through faith in His blood. Where there is such godly sorrow, there is the full and free forgiveness of sins, even for the most grievous offences, for His precious blood was shed with a special view to the redemption of His people, and there is no condemnation to those who truly trust Him.

May the Lord give them, and give us all, that unquenchable thirst of which our Saviour spoke, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. May He teach them to love truth, to regard human life as made in His image, and to speak honestly and act compassionately, not by mere human resolve but by the new nature which He alone creates. And may He cover with His peace those who are His, who are chosen in Christ, keeping them in understanding and in quiet trust as they look to Jesus.

We will entreat the Lord for these things, asking that He would grant repentance unto life and remission of sins in the name of Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other. Look to Jesus, dear soul, and continue to look to Him, for that sight both begets repentance and sustains it, and He will do what is right and holy according to His perfect will. Amen.
