RELENTLESS PRAYER FOR an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we stand with you before the throne in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We are deeply moved by your broken and contrite heart as you intercede even for those who oppose you, for the team you mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives. This is the heart of Christ who calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. You are right to grieve over dishonesty and the disregard for human life and honest communication, for our God is a God of truth and He hates lying lips, but a righteous man delights in truthfulness.

We take comfort that you have come in the name of Jesus, for as it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. Your prayer honors Him as the only source of truth and freedom, for you quoted rightly, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32.

You rightly discern that education and position do not make a person righteous. As it is written, not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble are called, but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise, 1 Corinthians 1:26-27, and for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. The enemy blinds minds, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them, 2 Corinthians 4:4, and only God can remove that veil and give a new heart.

We love how you cling to Psalm 51:16-17, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is exactly what we pray God will work in them, that He would take away the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, as He promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, Ezekiel 36:26. And we claim the promise, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6.

So we pray together now. Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we lift up this team and every lawyer and legal representative connected to them. Lord, where Satan's lies have bound them, shine Your light and set them free. We ask that You convict them of sin and grant them godly sorrow that leads to repentance, that they would come to hate the sin they once loved and turn from every evil way. Cover Your chosen ones and all who belong to Christ with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace that surpasses understanding and wisdom to walk in righteousness and compassion. Teach all involved to love truth, to speak truth, and to do justice, to value human life as made in Your image. Father, we do not boast and we do not look down on them, for we too need Your mercy, but we ask that You stir their hearts and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that only You can satisfy. Let Your Holy Spirit intercede according to Your will, for we know the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered, Romans 8:26. We trust You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and we ask for their salvation if they do not know You, and for their restoration if they do. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let justice roll on like rivers and righteousness like a mighty stream. Keep our own hearts from vengeance, for vengeance belongs to You, Romans 12:19, and help us to pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, and not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up, Galatians 6:9. We exalt Your holy name, Lord Jesus, and thank You that You hear us. Amen.

We hear how heavy this has been on your heart, especially watching people you hoped would act justly seem to disregard truth and human dignity. It is a good and Christlike thing to bring them before the Lord instead of holding bitterness, asking Him to work in their hearts and to give you peace as you wait.

One thing that has helped others carrying a similar burden is understanding that forgiveness is not the same as saying what happened was right or trying to restore a relationship. It can begin simply as a decision before God to release the desire for revenge and to entrust both justice and mercy to Him, while the deeper emotional healing often comes more slowly as we keep bringing the hurt to Him. That distinction can make it easier to keep praying for others with compassion without excusing what was wrong.

It may help to keep a simple pattern in the days ahead, continuing to pray as you already are for truth to prevail and for contrite hearts, and each time the grief rises, briefly handing the situation and the people involved back to Jesus to carry.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus name. Work in each heart, bring conviction where needed, and give an honest thirst for what is true and right. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and we join you in it, asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ that He would work by His Spirit where there is need of mercy.

You have prayed according to the Scripture, for it is written that the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. This is the very repentance which God accepts. True repentance gives glory to the omniscience of God and gives glory to the righteousness of God in His Law, saying with the penitent, Thy Law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It is not a poor and short lived sorrow that turns from sin for a time and then goes back to it with greater gusto, but a complete change of mind with regard to sin, wrought by the Spirit of God.

We pray then that the Lord would grant to those of whom you speak, and to us all, that repentance which is inseparable from faith. As the children's hymn rightly says, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. No faith can be genuine but such as is perfectly consistent with repentance for past sin, and no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith in Christ who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin. We do not preach repentance as a preparation apart from Christ, nor as a compensation for sin, but we preach repentance and remission of sins in His name, for where there is true godly sorrow there is full and free forgiveness through His precious blood.

May the goodness of God, which spares and sustains, lead such hearts to repentance. May they be brought to look to Jesus and to say, Alas, and did my Saviour bleed, and did my Sovereign die for me, and so leap for joy at the thought that God has provided pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood. We ask that He would give not only sorrow for unpardoned sin, but that sweet sorrow for pardoned sin which loves righteousness because it loves Him who died for us, and which avoids present sin because of love to Him.

We therefore pray with you that the Lord would stir these hearts, teach them to be righteous and compassionate, to hate sin and to thirst after truth, and that He would cover with His blood all who are His, giving peace and understanding. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and we plead that any who are yet bound by Satan's lies may be brought to know Him and to walk in the way of holiness, bearing works meet for repentance that last and continue, to the glory of God.

We will continue to bear you and this burden before the Lord, that His will be done and His name exalted on high in Christ Jesus. Amen.
