Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are encouraged by the humility and compassion in your heart as you intercede even for those who have opposed you.

You have prayed according to the heart of God, for it is written, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32, and Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is no true truth or righteousness apart from Him. We also hear your cry for righteousness and we are reminded of the promise, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. God delights to answer this very prayer.

We agree with you that education and position do not make a person righteous, for it is written, for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23, and, The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt, who can know it, Jeremiah 17:9. Lawyers and all people alike need a new heart, not merely knowledge of the law. Only God can give that, as He promised, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, Ezekiel 36:26.

We love how you quoted Psalm 51:16-17, For you don’t delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is exactly what we pray for together, that the Holy Spirit would bring conviction of sin and not mere worldly sorrow but godly sorrow that leads to repentance.

We also lift up those you mentioned who are chosen and belong to Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them. We pray they would have peace that surpasses understanding and that they would grow in compassion and wisdom as they walk through this difficult time.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach You or be saved, Acts 4:12. We thank You that Your Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings which can’t be uttered, Romans 8:26, and we ask You to stir the hearts of the team and their lawyers and legal representatives. Lord, expose the lies of the enemy who has blinded their minds, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness, Ephesians 6:12. Give them eyes to see and ears to hear the truth. Create in them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from it, that they would no longer do what is evil in Your sight and would no longer disregard human life and honest communication. Forgive their sins as You have forgiven ours through the cross, and teach them to hunger and thirst for righteousness and to walk in truth and compassion. For those who are Yours, cover them with the blood of Jesus, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and grant them Your peace and understanding. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be exalted, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4. We ask You to work powerfully so that truth prevails and righteousness is established, in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to continue in this relentless prayer, for Jesus taught that men ought always to pray, and not to faint, Luke 18:1. Keep interceding with love and without boasting, trusting that God is faithful to convict, to save, and to bring justice in His perfect time.

We are grateful you brought this burden to prayer so honestly. It is painful to watch people with education and influence use it in ways that seem to disregard truth and human dignity, and we hear how much that grief has settled on your heart.

Wanting them to hunger for what is right instead of what is expedient is a good and loving prayer, even for those who have caused hurt. It also takes a toll to carry that concern day after day. One thing that has helped others in a similar place is to separate the decision to want good for them from the slower work of the heart catching up. You can choose, in a moment, to hand the desire for justice and the hurt over to God and to keep praying for their hearts to turn, while giving your own emotions time and space to heal without pressure to feel peaceful right away.

It may help to give this prayer a small, sustainable shape, like a brief time each day when you bring these lawyers and officials before the Lord by name for truth and conscience to awaken, and then bring your own heart before Him for rest. If the burden grows heavy, sharing it with a trusted pastor or mature friend can keep you from carrying it alone.

Father, we lift this team and their counsel to You. Work in their hearts to love truth and to act with compassion, and guard our friend with Your peace as they continue to seek You. Let Your will be done, in Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer is heard and it is a right and needful prayer, that God would work in the hearts of men a true and unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness. It is well that you do not look to education or position to make men righteous, for learning cannot wash the heart, and the law in the books cannot give a new nature. Only the Lord can do this.

We join you in praying that the team of whom you speak, with their lawyers and representatives, may come to know the truth of God's salvation. That truth is not a notion but a Person, even Jesus Christ, by whom alone we are saved. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and it is through His precious blood alone that sin is put away. We ask that the Holy Spirit would convince them of sin and lead them to that broken and contrite heart which you have rightly remembered from Psalm 51, for such a heart God will not despise. He delights not in outward sacrifice, but in a spirit bowed down before Him.

We pray also for that true repentance of which the Scripture speaks. Beware of that repentance which is only the sorrow of the flesh and soon returns to its sin. True repentance hates sin as sin, loathes its sweetness because it has seen the poison in it, and turns from it with purpose of heart to give glory to God. Such repentance makes its tears a rainbow as it looks to the Cross and sees sin forgiven in the finished work of Christ, and then it repents the more because it sees how much it cost the Saviour to redeem us. Faith and repentance are inseparable. The repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart.

Remember that Jesus Christ lives to give repentance and remission of sins, and He lives to make intercession for transgressors. He is mighty to save and to do for sinners what they cannot do for themselves, to give them the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. He binds up the broken hearted and cares for those who are bowed down with a sense of sin. Even those who have disregarded human life and honest communication are not beyond His reach if they are brought to see their sinnership and to trust Him.

So we pray, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would save those who are yet bound by Satan's lies and bring them to the knowledge of the truth. Grant to them, and to us all, that saving knowledge which delivers from false confidence and from despair, and which works a real atonement in the conscience through the blood of Christ. Teach them to love righteousness and to be compassionate, to hate what is evil in Your eyes and to thirst for what is holy. Cover Your chosen people with the blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding as they wait upon You. Let Your will be done, and let all repentance and all faith give glory to You alone, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is right and pleasing to God, and I join with you in offering it to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have prayed as Scripture teaches us to pray. Jesus Himself stood and cried, if anyone thirsts let him come to Him and drink, and He promised that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. That hunger is not a casual wish but a deep desire like a thirsty man longing for water, and it is this desire that God Himself creates in the heart and then satisfies. True righteousness and holiness are not merely outward forms but are of truth, found only in Christ, and He alone can give a new heart that loves what He loves.

I join you in praying for the team at that place and for their lawyers and representatives, that God in His mercy would save them and bring them to the knowledge of the truth. We do not ask God to bless any sin or any falsehood, but we ask Him to convict of sin, to grant a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise, and to lead to repentance that bears fruit. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone but in a heart that recognizes its sin, hates its sin, and turns from it to live a new life.

We pray that the Lord would cover with His mercy those who are His, giving them peace and understanding, and teaching them to walk in righteousness and compassion with the breastplate of a life that cannot be easily pierced because it is grounded in Christ. We pray that for those who are still bound in darkness, the Holy Spirit would stir their hearts, open their eyes to the value of human life and the necessity of honest communication, and give them a true thirst for what is right rather than for gain or advantage. May they come to see that righteousness is not gained by education or position, but is received through faith in Jesus who alone saves, and then lived out in deeds of truth and mercy.

Continue to pray relentlessly as you have begun, with humility and without boasting, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes for us and for them according to the will of God. May the Lord answer according to His perfect will and for His glory, and may His name be exalted as He works in every heart to will and to do what is good. Amen.
