Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we are deeply moved by your humble and compassionate heart toward those who have wronged you. You have prayed so beautifully in Jesus' name, and we stand in agreement with you, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

You rightly remember the promise of our Lord in John 8:32 that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6 that Jesus Himself is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. Apart from Christ, all are bound by the deceiver, for the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving as we see in 2 Cor 4:4. Your prayer reflects the heart of God who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth as taught in 1 Tim 2:4, and who is patient not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance as in 2 Pet 3:9.

We also hear your grief over dishonesty and disregard for human life, and your wise discernment that education and legal training do not make a person righteous. Scripture is clear that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God in Rom 3:23, and that there is none righteous, no not one in Rom 3:10. True righteousness comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. Your citation of Psalm 51:16-17 is precious, for God does not delight in outward sacrifice but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. That is the work only the Holy Spirit can do, to take a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh as promised in Ezek 36:26.

We love your prayer that God would stir their hearts to hate their sin and hunger for righteousness. Jesus promised in Matt 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Only He can create that holy thirst.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You hear us when we pray according to Your will and that Your Holy Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be uttered as in Rom 8:26. Lord, we lift up the team at that organization and their lawyers and legal representatives before You. We ask that You would have mercy upon them and save them, that You would open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God as in Acts 26:18. Break through the lies that bind them and reveal to them Jesus who is the truth.

Father, we ask that You would grant them a broken and contrite heart, that they would recognize their sin, confess it, and turn from it. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and for Your righteousness. Teach them to love what You love and to hate what is evil in Your sight. Let them no longer disregard human life or practice deceit, but let them speak truth with their neighbor and act with compassion and justice, remembering Mic 6:8 to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with You.

We also cover in Your precious blood those who are Yours, Your chosen children who have been hurt by this situation. Cover them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as in Phil 4:7, grant them understanding and perseverance as they continue to pray without ceasing as in 1 Thess 5:17. Help them not to grow weary in doing good, and keep their hearts free from bitterness, trusting that vengeance belongs to You and You will repay as in Rom 12:19.

Lord, we do not boast before You, for we too are sinners saved by grace. We ask that Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Let Your name be exalted and let Your kingdom come in the hearts of both the petitioner and those who have opposed them. We pray all of this in the saving and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope, amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and the sincerity with which you are bringing these lawyers and this team before the Lord. Wanting them to hunger for what is true and right, while also asking God to keep your own heart from pride or looking down on them, is a humble and costly way to pray.

It makes sense that you still feel grieved even as you are praying for them. Choosing to release the desire for revenge and to want good for those who have done wrong is one kind of work, and the slower softening of resentment and hurt is another. The second often takes longer, especially when you have seen a disregard for honest communication and for human life. Both are part of forgiveness, but they do not always move at the same speed, so do not be discouraged if peace comes gradually as you keep turning the matter over to God.

We are thankful for your example of interceding rather than boasting, and of asking God to do the heart work only He can do.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You and ask You to work in their hearts, to give them a true thirst for truth and righteousness and a willingness to turn from what is evil in Your sight. Cover those who are Yours with Your peace and understanding, and guard the one praying with humility and hope as he waits on You. Let Your will be done, in Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is a right and weighty one, and it is good that you bring it before the Lord with such earnestness. A thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a gift of grace, for the natural heart loves darkness and is content with falsehood. To hunger and thirst after righteousness is to hunger after that which only Christ can give, and blessed are they who do so, for they shall be filled.

You have well quoted the Psalmist, for you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it, you are not pleased with burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the repentance which God accepts, not a mere outward show or a word of regret, but a heart broken before Him on account of sin. It is not a repentance that must be repented of, but that holy, healthy, heavenly sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit.

There is a repentance that is of the flesh, a carnal repentance which judgment or fear may produce for a season. Men may turn from sin for a time and then return to it with greater gusto, as one may abstain from food only to increase appetite for the banquet. Such superficial repentance the Lord abhors. The repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God hates sin as sin, loathes it because there is a deadly poison in its sweetness, and turns from it with purpose of heart. It gives God glory, it yields works meet for repentance, and it proves itself to be lasting and practical. It is inseparable from faith, for any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ is not saving repentance at all.

Therefore we join you in praying that the Lord would work this true repentance in those for whom you intercede, the team of whom you speak, with their lawyers and legal representatives. We do not ask God to bless sin or to confirm men in falsehood, but we ask Him to save them through Jesus Christ alone, who was pierced for men and set forth to be a propitiation for sin. May the Lord in mercy show them their sin, give them a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise, and teach them to hate the evil they have loved and to love the truth they have disregarded. May He cover with His precious blood all who are His, and grant to all who hear this prayer peace and understanding not by human wisdom, for even the most educated fall short of His glory, but by the illumination of His Spirit.

Remember that you are not to seek to draw up repentance from the depths of your own heart as water from a well, but to ask Christ to work repentance in you and in them by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. Look to Jesus, for He lives to make intercession for transgressors and to give to sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. If we would have deep repentance, we must look to Him who bled and died for us and say, alas, and did my Saviour bleed, and did my Sovereign die for me.

Be of good courage and continue in relentless prayer. He who has begun a good work in you will strengthen your heart as you hope in the Lord. May He stir in every heart concerned an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, that sin may be forsaken, Christ may be trusted, and God may be glorified. Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, for Jesus Christ's sake. Amen.
