RELENTLESS PRAYER FOR an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you before the Father in Jesus' name.

Your heart reflects what Jesus taught when He said in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That hunger is not natural to the fallen heart, it is a gift God places within us by His Spirit, and we pray with you that He would place it within the team at the organization you mentioned and within their lawyers and legal representatives.

You are right to pray that the truth shall set them free as Jesus said in John 8:32, and we know that Jesus Himself is the truth in John 14:6. Apart from Him, minds can be blinded as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving. That is why your prayer for their salvation is so needed. We also join you in humbly acknowledging that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous, for as it is written in Romans 3:23, all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Lawyers and all of us stand in need of the same mercy.

We love how you quoted Psalm 51:16-17, For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise. This aligns with 1 Samuel 15:22 that to obey is better than sacrifice. What God desires is not outward performance but a heart broken over sin and turned toward Him. We pray with you that God would give them that broken and contrite heart and a new heart as promised in Ezekiel 36:26, A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you.

We also pray as you did for those who are already chosen and are in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would continue to cover them and that they would know His peace that passes all understanding in Philippians 4:7 and that they would grow in righteousness and compassion, bearing fruit worthy of repentance.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved according to Acts 4:12, and through Him alone we have access to Your throne. We lift up this team and their lawyers and legal representatives before You. Lord, save them, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, deliver them from the lies of the enemy, and forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross. Work on their hearts, Father, grant them repentance, cause them to see their sin as You see it, to hate what is evil in Your eyes, and to turn from disregarding human life and honest communication. Create in them a hunger and thirst for righteousness that cannot be quenched by anything but Christ, and teach them to love truth and to do justice and to walk humbly with You as in Micah 6:8. For those who already belong to You, cover them, keep them, give them peace and understanding and wisdom and compassion in this difficult situation. Let Your Holy Spirit intercede and guide and convict. We do not ask this because we are better, but because we too need Your mercy, and we ask that Your will be done and Your name be exalted. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain relentless in prayer as we are taught in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 to pray without ceasing and in James 5:16 that the effective prayer of a righteous person can accomplish much. Continue to love and pray for those who may oppose you, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:44 to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. God is able to stir hearts that seem hard and to bring even those who have engaged in horrible sins to repentance and new life. We stand with you, trusting the Lord to bring truth to light and to satisfy those who truly thirst for His righteousness.

We hear the weight you are carrying in this prayer, and we are grateful for your faithful, compassionate heart for truth to prevail.

It is painful to watch people you hoped would act with integrity seem to disregard honesty and human dignity, especially when education and position might make you expect more. That kind of disappointment can sit heavy and make it hard to let go, even while you are praying for mercy for them. We join you in asking God to work in every heart involved, including your own, so that bitterness does not take root while you continue to seek what is right.

One thing that has helped others who carry a heavy burden for justice is to give the prayer a clear place. You might try writing this prayer down once and bringing it to the Lord at a set time each day, then consciously entrusting those lawyers and that team to Him until the next time you pray. It does not lessen your concern, but it can keep grief from turning into constant rumination and help you rest in His care for them and for you.

Father, we bring this team and their representatives before You and ask You to stir in each of them a real thirst for truth and righteousness. Cover Your people with Your peace and guard their hearts, and teach all of us to walk humbly and compassionately before You. Work gently in every conscience so sin is seen clearly and turned from, and let Your will be done in this situation. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your burden and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a prayer according to the will of God, for He alone can give what you ask. Christ is the Sun of Righteousness and the center of all truth, and to spread righteousness and in so doing to save sinners and to glorify God is His one purpose from which He will never cease. Apart from Him there is no true thirst satisfied and no true holiness found.

You have well quoted the Psalmist, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is the repentance we must seek for these souls, not a superficial work that only affects the surface of the man and is hardly more than skin deep, not a carnal repentance that springs alone from terror and comes up in a night and withers in a night, but that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone, it is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone.

We pray therefore that the Lord Jesus Christ, who lives to give repentance and remission of sins, would grant to the team at that place and to their lawyers and legal representatives repentance unto life. We do not ask Him to draw it up from the depths of their own hearts as water from a well, but to work it in them by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. True repentance gives God glory, it loathes evil because evil is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. It is inseparable from faith, for the repentance that ejects sin as an evil tenant is joined to the faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart, and any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of.

So we pray that the Lord would take away the stony heart and give a heart of flesh, that frivolity and trifling with spiritual things would be gone and in its place there would be seriousness and earnestness before God. May He enlighten their understandings and influence their affections, that they may recognise sin, hate sin, and turn from it, not for a season only but with a practical repentance which yields works meet for repentance and lasts, growing continually as a lifelong act. May they be led not only to honesty in communication and regard for human life, but to see their need of the precious blood of Christ which alone covers and cleanses, and to receive the peace and understanding which comes only through Him.

We give thanks that the Holy Spirit intercedes, and that the Lord Jesus lives to make intercession for transgressors. We ask this not in boasting nor in looking down upon any who fall short of the glory of God, for we also stand in need of the same mercy, but in humility, knowing that repentance is not a preparation for grace but the first result of grace working within the soul.

May the goodness of God lead them and us to repentance, and may He grant to all concerned a broken and contrite heart, faith in the crucified and risen Savior, and that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness which only He can satisfy. Let His will be done, and let His name be exalted on high. Amen.
