Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for truth and righteousness and we thank you for bringing this burden before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We agree with your heart that education and legal knowledge do not make a person righteous, for it is written in Romans 3:23 that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in Jeremiah 17:9 that the heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt. We also rejoice that you do not come in a spirit of boasting or looking down on others, but in humility, remembering that we all need mercy.

Your prayer that they would have an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is deeply biblical. Jesus said in Matthew 5:6, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. And He also said in John 8:32, You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Apart from Christ, men remain bound by the lies of the enemy, as it is written in 2 Corinthians 4:4 that the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving. That is why we must pray for their eyes to be opened.

We love that you quoted Psalm 51:16-17, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is exactly what we pray for, that God would give them a new heart. As Ezekiel 36:26 promises, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. We pray that their hearts would be broken over sin and that they would come to hate what God hates and love what God loves.

We also stand with you in praying for those who are chosen and who are in Christ, that the precious blood of Jesus would cover them and keep them, and that they would walk in peace and understanding. In Philippians 4:7 we are reminded that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We lift this prayer together before our Heavenly Father.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and we ask for Your mercy upon the team you have placed on our hearts and upon their lawyers and legal representatives. Lord, save them, open their eyes to the truth of the gospel, and deliver them from the deception of Satan. Forgive their sins as they repent and turn to You, and restrain them from doing what is evil in Your sight. Create in them a broken and contrite heart that does not continue in sin, but turns from it. Stir within them an unquenchable thirst for truth and for righteousness, that they would hunger for Your Word and for honest and compassionate dealings, and that they would regard human life as You do. Cover Your people with the blood of Jesus, grant them Your peace that surpasses understanding, and teach them to walk in righteousness and compassion by the power of Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Romans 8:26. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be exalted. We pray that all involved would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, for it is written in 1 Timothy 2:4 that You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, and in Acts 4:12 there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, not growing weary, for James 5:16 tells us the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. Keep interceding with love, speaking the truth, and trusting that God is both just and merciful and that He will bring all things to light in His perfect time.

We hear how heavy this burden has been on you, and how much you long for truth and righteousness to prevail where there has been dishonesty and disregard for life. It is painful to watch people with education and standing act in ways that grieve you, and we join you in bringing that grief honestly before the Lord.

You are asking for something good, that hearts would be softened to recognize wrong and turn toward what is compassionate and true. Holding both sorrow over what is happening and hope for change can be wearing, and it is understandable to feel that tension day after day.

One insight that helps many who carry this kind of intercession is that releasing the hurt happens on two levels. One is a decision to let go of getting even and to entrust justice to God. The other is slower, as the resentment and fear that build up when we have been wronged are gradually eased and replaced with steadier compassion as we keep bringing the matter to Him. They do not move at the same pace, and peace often comes in waves.

We will keep praying with you. It may help to give your intercession a simple rhythm so it does not consume every hour, and to share this burden with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can stand with you in prayer.

Father, we bring this team and their representatives before You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to do what is right, and cover those affected with Your peace and understanding. Keep our own hearts tender and not hardened as we wait on You, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a prayer after the very heart of God, and it is good that you have brought it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.

You have well quoted that precious word, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. This is true repentance, not a carnal repentance which is of the flesh and soon passes away, as men may turn from sin for a season and then return to it with greater gusto. The repentance which God accepts is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. It hates sin as sin, it loathes the sweetness in which there is deadly poison, and it turns from it with purpose of heart. It gives God glory, for the truly repentant soul leaps for joy at the thought that God has set forth Christ to be a propitiation for sin.

You pray rightly that these lawyers and those associated with them may be saved and may come to hate their sins and forsake them. Remember that repentance and faith are inseparable gifts of Christ. We are not to seek to draw up repentance from the depths of our own heart as water from a well, but to ask Christ to work it in us by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. Look to Jesus, for He lives to make intercession for transgressors and to give sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. His precious blood alone can cover sin and bring peace and understanding, and where that blood is applied there is no condemnation.

It is wise and humble in you not to boast and not to despise the educated, for learning cannot make the heart righteous. The heart itself is weak and diseased, and only God can strengthen the heart. Our hope cannot content itself with things seen and temporal. We thirst for that righteousness which Christ alone can give, and blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after it, for they shall be filled.

Therefore let us continue in relentless prayer, not for a superficial sorrow that needs to be repented of, but for that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is consistent with faith in Christ, which avoids present sin because of love to Him who died for us, and which yields works meet for repentance and lasts. May the Lord stir their hearts indeed, and your own, to love truth and to choose righteousness even if there were no reward for it, and may He grant to all who are chosen in Christ a broken spirit that He will not despise, and a thirst for His holiness which only He can satisfy. We join you in praying that His will be done, and that Christ may be exalted as the only cure for troubled hearts, through whom alone is remission of sins. Amen.
