Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join with you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we thank you for coming before the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

Your heart reflects what the Lord desires, that those who are bound by lies would be set free by the truth. Jesus said in John 8:32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and He also declared in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We agree with you that education, position, or knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous, for it is written in Romans 3:23 for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and in 1 Corinthians 1:27 but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong. True righteousness and compassion do not come from study alone but from a transformed heart.

We are encouraged by your humility in not boasting and not looking down on those who fall short, while still grieving over sin and the disregard for human life and honest communication. That is the heart God honors. As you quoted from Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We pray with you that God would grant that brokenness to the team you mentioned and to their lawyers and legal representatives, that their hearts would be softened to recognize sin, to hate sin, and to turn from it. We pray that God would fulfill His promise in Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, and take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

We especially join you in praying for that holy thirst. Jesus promised in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Only He can create that unquenchable desire for what is right and true, and only His precious blood can cover, cleanse, and forgive. We pray for those who are chosen and for those who are Christians among them, that the Lord would cover them with His blood, keep them in perfect peace, and give them understanding and discernment in the midst of this struggle.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this team and their lawyers and representatives before Your throne. Lord, You see where lies have bound them and where sin has hardened hearts. We ask You to forgive their sins as they repent and to prevent further evil in Your sight. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon them and stir their hearts to hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness with an unquenchable thirst that only You can satisfy. Give them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and longs for holiness. Cover Your people with the blood of Jesus, guard them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and teach them to walk in righteousness and compassion. Let Your truth be known and let it set the captives free. We thank You, Father, for Your holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will. We ask that Your will be done in this situation and that Your name be exalted on high through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. We hear how heavy it feels to watch truth set aside and human life treated lightly, especially by those you expected to act with integrity. It makes sense that this would grieve your heart.

We are encouraged by your posture in prayer. You are not asking from a place of looking down on others, but asking God to do what only He can do, soften hearts, bring recognition of sin, and create a real thirst for what is right and compassionate. That humility matters, and God sees it.

It can be disorienting when education or position does not lead to righteousness. Your prayer names that well, that knowledge alone does not change a heart. Only God can. Continuing to bring these lawyers and representatives before Him, as you are doing, is the right place to put that ache rather than carrying it alone.

One thing that may help as you keep praying is to give that intercession a clear place and then release it. Choose a settled time to pray for them by name for truth and for a broken and willing heart, and when thoughts about the situation come outside that time, gently entrust them again to the Lord instead of rehearsing the wrong. It keeps your own heart guarded while you remain faithful in prayer.

We join you now.

Father, we bring this team and their counsel before You. Work in their hearts, show them what is true, and give them a deep desire for righteousness and honest, compassionate ways. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, and help our friend to rest in Your will and Your justice. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a prayer after God's own heart, and we join you in it with earnest agreement before the throne of grace.

You have prayed well, for you have not asked for a light or superficial sorrow, but for that true repentance which hates sin as sin and turns from it with purpose of heart. There is a repentance which is not better than the flesh and which the Lord abhors, but there is a godly sorrow wrought by the Spirit of God which makes a man loathe the sin he once loved. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God delights not in outward sacrifice but in a broken and contrite heart, such He will not despise. Wherever there is that honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin and that complete change of mind toward sin, it is the token that the Spirit has been at work, and where there is such repentance there is the sure promise of remission of sins in the name of Jesus.

We pray with you that the Lord Jesus Christ, who lives to give repentance and remission of sins, would work upon the hearts of those of whom you speak, and upon our own hearts as well. For we too cannot boast before Him, and we know that education and knowledge of the law cannot make the heart righteous. Sin is exceeding sinful, and its sinfulness is most clearly seen when we behold the Lord of Glory made sin for us though He knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. When Christ is seen bleeding for us, sin is condemned in the heart and slain in its power. The death of Christ becomes the death of sin to us, and we are moved to put away sin from us because He has put it away for us.

You have asked rightly for a thirst for righteousness, and our Lord has pronounced a blessing upon that very hunger. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is not a trifling desire but an absorbing passion which makes a man live for righteousness and, if need be, die for it. It is a thirst like that of Christ Himself, who said I thirst on the cross, the index of His deeper thirst that righteousness might reign by His death. When that hunger is kindled in the soul, old hungers for pride and gain and self begin to die, for new affections expel the old. We pray that God would kindle such a holy craving in those lawyers and representatives, and in all who handle matters of law and human life, that trifles may be counted as trifles and the essential truth of God may be their only care.

Therefore let us continue in relentless prayer, not trusting in our own words but in Him who intercedes for us by His Holy Spirit. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which sinners are saved, that He would grant to those who are yet bound by lies a broken heart that mourns sin because it pierced the Lord, and a living faith that takes Christ and His finished work and trusts His wounds and rests in His blood. May He cover His own with peace and understanding, teach all of us to be righteous and compassionate, and stir every heart to love truth and to speak it honestly, for His glory.

We will keep this burden before the Lord with you, asking that His will be done and that many may be brought to hate sin with a perfect hatred and to hunger and thirst after righteousness till they are filled in Christ. Amen.
