Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, and we agree with you in Jesus name for those who are bound by lies to be set free.

Your heart to pray for those who have wronged you, including the team where you work and their lawyers and legal representatives, reflects the love Christ calls us to have even for those who oppose us. It is easy to put trust in education or position, but as you have humbly acknowledged, knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous before God. We are reminded that Rom 3:23 tells us for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God, and that true righteousness comes only through Christ. We are also called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us as Matt 5:44 teaches, not looking down on them but desiring their salvation as we ourselves need mercy.

We stand on the promise you quoted that John 8:32 says You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, and we know Jesus Himself is that truth for John 14:6 says I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We also cling to Matt 5:6 which says Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That is the very thirst you are praying for, and God delights to answer it. You rightly prayed from Psalm 51:17 that The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise, and we pray God grants that brokenness that leads to repentance rather than hardness of heart. We take comfort that 1 Tim 2:4 tells us God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, and that He is able to give a new heart as Ezek 36:26 promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this team, their lawyers and legal representatives before You. Lord, where Satan has blinded minds with lies, we ask that Your light would shine and that the truth of Christ would make them free. We plead the precious blood of Jesus over those who are Yours, Your chosen and Your followers, cover them with Your peace and understanding and guard their hearts. For those who are lost, we ask that You would work deeply in their hearts, that You would grant them a broken and contrite spirit to recognize their sin, to hate their sin, and to turn from it and not continue to live in it. Forgive their sins as they repent, Lord, and restrain them from doing what is evil in Your eyes. Stir their hearts to disregard no longer human life and honest communication, but give them an unquenchable hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness and compassion. Create in them a new heart that loves what You love. We thank You for Your Holiness and for Your Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to Your will. Let Your will be done in this situation and let Your name be exalted on high. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in this intercession, not growing weary, trusting that God hears and that He is patient and merciful, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Keep praying with both truth and grace, speaking honestly yet with compassion, and rest in the peace that God is the righteous judge who will bring all things into the light in His perfect time.

We hear the burden in your prayer and the grief you feel watching people who know the law still disregard what is honest and right. It is painful to see truth set aside, especially when human lives and clear communication are at stake, and we are grateful you brought this to the Lord instead of carrying it alone.

We join you in asking God to work in the hearts of the team and their lawyers. Education and position cannot make a person righteous or compassionate - only God can soften a heart and turn it toward what is true. You prayed with such humility, not wanting to boast or look down on them, and that matters. God sees a broken and contrite heart, and true turning is more than feeling sorry for a moment; it is a change of mind that leads to a change of direction.

One thing that may help as you keep praying is to give this burden a steady place before the Lord and then leave the outcome with Him. Continue to bring them to Him consistently, ask for that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness you described, and ask Him to keep your own heart at peace and clear as you wait on His will.

Father, we lift this team and their representatives to You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts, show them where they have done wrong, and give them a deep desire for truth and for what is right. Cover Your people with Your peace and keep us faithful to walk honestly ourselves. Let Your will be done, amen.

Your prayer is a right and weighty one, and we join our hearts with yours at the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone there is salvation.

You have asked well, for it is written that the truth shall make you free, and our Lord Jesus Christ is Himself the truth. The whole testimony of God about Christ is the truth, and the work of the Holy Ghost in the heart is to work in us the truth. Men are saved and the same men that are saved come to the knowledge of the truth, and these two things very much depend upon each other. It is a saving knowledge of the truth that delivers the soul from despair and from the love of sin. We pray with you that the team of whom you speak, with their lawyers and representatives, may come to that knowledge, not merely to know about the law of man, but to know the Truth of God's salvation, which is a great reality and not a shadow or a myth. That salvation has substance in it, for there is a real fall, a real sinnership, and a real atonement by the precious blood of Christ, and when the heart comes to know this truth, it is saved.

You pray that they may be brought to hate their sin and to thirst for righteousness, and this is the very heart of true repentance. We must remember that judgments, even the most terrible of them, do not in themselves produce a satisfactory repentance in the minds of men. Judgment may produce a carnal repentance, a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature, but it is not of that holy, healthy, heavenly sort which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives God glory. It is not a proud boasting, nor a looking down upon others, but as you have quoted from Psalm 51, a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart, which O God, You will not despise. This is repentance unto life, the act and germ which contains all the essentials of salvation. It lives as long as faith lives, for repentance and faith are inseparable graces.

We do not preach repentance as a preparation for grace, as if a man could by himself take the first step, but repentance is the first result of grace working within the soul. It is the gift of God. We are to preach repentance in the name of Jesus, which means we are to tell sinners that God gives repentance, that it is one of the free gifts of His grace, and that whoever has it may rest assured that the hand of the Lord has been upon him for good. Any repentance that keeps a sinner from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. The repentance that brings salvation leads the soul to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, trusting in His finished work upon Calvary's tree, His active obedience which renders recompense for our breaches of the holy law, and His blood which alone can cleanse from blood guiltiness and all sin.

Therefore we bow with you and pray that the Lord will be pleased to work this repentance in these hearts by His Holy Spirit, through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. That He would open their eyes to see their sin as God sees it, to grieve over their disregard for human life and honest communication, and to turn from it with a holy hatred of sin. That He would give them, as you have asked, an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, which is found only in Christ, who is God's salvation itself. Wherever our eyes spiritually light upon the Christ of God, there we see God's salvation. We ask that He would cover with His precious blood those who are His chosen, and that He would extend mercy to those yet outside, that they too might believe on Him and not be ashamed, for with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation, and whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.

We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we commit this burden to Him who delights not in mere sacrifice but in truth in the inward parts. May the Lord teach all who are concerned to be righteous and compassionate, to walk in the truth, and to give Him glory by a humble faith in Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation. We will continue to plead that His will be done, and that Christ may be seen as God's salvation in the lives of many.

Let us keep on teaching and praying the truth, for truth alone can work results that are true.
