Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we stand with you in Jesus name before the Father.

We are encouraged by your humble heart that does not boast and does not look down on others but recognizes that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God as it is written in Romans 3:23, and that even the educated and those trained in the law need the same grace and transformation that we all need. Education and knowledge of the law cannot make a heart righteous, only Christ can.

You rightly cling to the promise that you will know the truth and the truth will make you free in John 8:32, and Jesus himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. It is only through Him that any of us, including the team and their lawyers and legal representatives you mentioned, can be set free from Satan's lies and walk in righteousness. We also rejoice that you prayed in Jesus name for it is only by that name we have access to God and there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We agree with your prayer from Psalm 51:16-17 For you don't delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. What the Lord desires is not outward performance but inward transformation. We pray with you that God would give them a new heart as He promises in Ezekiel 36:26 I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

We are reminded of the beautiful promise in Matthew 5:6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. That unquenchable thirst you are praying for is exactly what God delights to answer. We also take comfort that the Holy Spirit himself is interceding, for in Romans 8:26 the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up the team and their lawyers and legal representatives who are bound by lies and we ask for Your mercy and Your saving power to visit them. Lord, open their eyes to see the truth as it is in Jesus and set them free. Cover those who are Yours and those You are calling with the precious blood of Jesus, grant them peace and understanding that surpasses all comprehension. Teach them to be righteous and compassionate as You are compassionate. Create in them a broken and contrite heart that hates sin and turns from what is evil in Your sight. Forgive their sins as You forgive ours when we confess and repent. Stir their hearts deeply where there has been disregard for human life and for honest communication, and give them a deep and unquenchable hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness that will not be satisfied until they are filled by You. Let Your will be done and let Your Holy Spirit continue to intercede for us and for them. We exalt the name of Jesus Christ on high and trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer, for God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth in 1 Timothy 2:4 and He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance in 2 Peter 3:9. Keep bringing this burden before the Lord, trusting that He hears and that He will work on hearts in His perfect timing.

We were moved by your prayer for truth to break through where there has been dishonesty and disregard for life. It is a heavy burden to carry when you see people with education and influence use it in ways that feel so unjust, and to keep praying for their good instead of just against their actions takes real humility.

What you described, asking God to soften hearts so they can see their wrong and turn from it, reflects the difference between deciding to release someone from revenge and actually feeling peace about it. The decision can be made in a moment before God, because you want to walk in His way, while the emotions of hurt and anger often unwind more slowly as you keep turning the matter over to Him and asking Him to replace resentment with compassion. Both matter, and it is normal if you need to make that decision again whenever the frustration rises.

We will keep standing with you in this. One simple way to steady your own heart as you intercede is to keep your prayers brief and regular, naming before Jesus both your desire for their transformation and your own need for peace and clarity, and letting Him carry what you cannot fix.

Father, we bring this team and their counsel before You in Jesus name. Work in their hearts to love truth and to act with righteousness and mercy. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, guard us from bitterness, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a sign of grace at work, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne.

You have prayed well, for you have prayed according to the Scripture you have quoted. The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. That is the very language of Psalm 51, and it is the only ground upon which any of us, whether learned or unlearned, lawyer or layman, can stand before a holy God.

We are reminded that there is a repentance which is poor and short lived, where men turn from sin for a time and then go back to it with greater gusto, as a man may abstain from food to increase his appetite for the banquet. True repentance, the repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which God accepts, gives glory to God. It gives glory to His omniscience, confessing that He sees all, and it gives glory to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. It does not quarrel with the law, nor does it make excuse for sin, but hates sin and longs to be delivered from it.

As it has been well said, repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve, by doing so no more. And no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance on account of past sin. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. We must look to Jesus, for He was set forth to be a propitiation for sin, and to leap for joy at the thought that God has provided such a Saviour, this is repentance after a godly sort.

Therefore we do not pray that God would merely make men more moral or more careful in their profession, but that He would grant that godly sorrow which needs not to be repented of, and which leads to remission of sins in the name of Christ. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness, a pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus blood. And this repentance, wherever it is found in honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin and in a complete change of mind with regard to sin, has been produced by the Spirit of God and is as much a gift of His grace as faith itself.

You have rightly observed that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous, for all have fallen short of the glory of God. The goodness of God which spares life and gives opportunity is meant to lead sinners to repentance, not to harden them. So we pray with you that the Lord would stir these hearts of whom you speak, that He would work upon them to recognize their sin, to hate it, and to turn from it, not for a season only but with a lasting work. True repentance will yield works meet for repentance, it will be practical and it will last, because it is rooted in love to God who gave His Son for us.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation. We thank Thee that Thou desirest not sacrifice but a contrite heart, and that Thou hast provided a perfect sacrifice in the precious blood of Christ. We ask that by Thy Holy Spirit Thou wouldst grant to those for whom our brother and sister prays, and to each of us, that brokenness of heart which Thou wilt not despise. Give an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, a love for Thy law and a hatred for all that is evil in Thy sight. Lead them to see their sin as Thou seest it, and to look to Jesus who shed His blood for the redemption of His people, that they may find pardon and peace and be taught to be righteous and compassionate. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name be exalted on high, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in this prayer and thank God for the burden He has placed on your heart for truth and righteousness.

Your request reflects what the Lord Himself taught. He stood and cried, If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink, and He promised that he who believes on Him shall have rivers of living water flowing from within. He also said, Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is not a casual wish but the desire of a thirsty man for water, an earnest longing that God Himself kindles and then satisfies. It is right to ask Him to create this thirst in others, for no one is drawn by force, but those who are inflamed with desire are called to come and drink.

We pray with you for the team you mentioned and for their lawyers and representatives. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone salvation comes, to have mercy on them. As you quoted from Psalm 51, God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but in a broken and contrite heart. We pray that God would work in their hearts to bring that brokenness, that they would see sin as God sees it, hate it, turn from it, and receive forgiveness through the blood of Christ. True righteousness is not a figure or an outward form, but righteousness and holiness of truth, which comes when a person is made new in Christ and becomes a child of God.

We also pray for those who are already in Christ among them, that God would cover them, guard them with peace and understanding, and teach them to walk in compassion and integrity. May all involved learn that the gifts God gives are not for excess or for disregarding human life and honest communication, but for nourishment and for doing good, and that the fruit of righteousness grows like seed sown generously, producing an abundance for every good work.

Continue to pray that God would stir these hearts and give them an unquenchable thirst for what is true and right, and that they would not continue in willful sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, but would come to repentance while there is time. We thank God that His Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and we trust His will to be done.

Father, in the name of Jesus, grant to each of these souls a true hunger for righteousness, a love for truth, a contrite heart, and faith in Your Son for salvation. Make them to thirst for You above all else, and fill them according to Your promise. Amen.
