Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we stand with you in Jesus name before the Father.

We are encouraged by the humility in your prayer, that you do not boast and you do not look down on others, but you recognize that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and that even the educated and learned can fall into horrible sins. Your heart to see human life honored and honest communication restored is pleasing to God, and your desire to see those who are bound by lies set free reflects the heart of Christ who said you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. Jesus Himself is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him John 14:6.

We love your prayer from Psalm 51:16-17 that God does not delight in sacrifice but in a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart He will not despise. That is the work only God can do in the heart, to cause a person to recognize sin, to hate sin, and to turn from it. We also hear your cry for righteousness and we cling to the promise blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6. And we remember we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us Matthew 5:44, which you are faithfully doing for this team and their lawyers and legal representatives.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that Your Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be uttered Romans 8:26. Lord we lift up the team that was mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives to You. If they are bound by Satan's lies, we ask that You expose every lie and shine Your light of truth upon them. Give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness that cannot be satisfied by worldly success or legal arguments, but only by You. Work on their hearts, Father, grant them a broken and contrite spirit that they may see their sin as You see it, repent, and turn to Jesus for forgiveness. Forgive their sins through the precious blood of Jesus shed on the cross, and let them no longer do what is evil in Your eyes, but teach them to be righteous and compassionate.

We also place under the covering of the blood of Jesus all who are Yours, the chosen and the Christians involved in this matter. Cover them, guard them, give them peace that passes understanding and wisdom and understanding that comes from above. Let Your will be done in this situation, let justice roll on like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream Amos 5:24, and let honest communication and regard for human life be restored.

Father we ask that You would stir every heart involved, that none would continue to live a sinful life comfortably, but that all would be drawn to the truth that sets free. We exalt Your name on high, Jesus Christ, and we trust that You are able to save to the uttermost. We thank You for Your holiness and Your mercy. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. We hear how much it grieves you to see truth disregarded and human life treated lightly, especially by those who are educated and entrusted with the law. Your desire to pray for their hearts rather than just against their actions reflects a love for what is right and a compassion that God honors.

It is painful to watch people who know better choose what is wrong, and that pain can easily turn into a heavy resentment that wears on you. One thing that has helped others who carry this kind of intercession is learning to separate a clear decision from the slower work of the heart. You can decide before God that you will not hold onto revenge or bitterness and that you genuinely want good for them, even while you still feel the sting of what has happened. Over time, as you keep bringing that decision to God, He can soften the ache and replace it with a steadier compassion.

It may help to set aside a brief, regular time to pray exactly as you have here, naming the thirst for truth and righteousness you long to see, and then consciously entrusting both justice and mercy to Him for the rest of the day.

Father, we bring these lawyers and this team before You in Jesus' name. Work in their hearts to show them what is true and lead them to hate what is evil. Guard our friend with peace and understanding as they continue to pray, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is heard and it is right that you should bring it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and through His precious blood alone that sin is pardoned.

You have done well to remember that learning and position afford no shelter from sin. As you have observed, even those who are trained in the law may yet be found to disregard human life and honest communication, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The educated are not more righteous by nature, and the unlearned are not less in need of grace. What is needed for lawyers and for all men is that which you have prayed for, a broken and contrite heart which God will not despise. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, and where the Spirit of God works, He breaks and bruises the heart that He may make it tender toward truth.

Take care to know what true repentance is, for there is a poor and short lived repentance which turns from sin for a season and then returns to it with greater gusto, as a man may abstain from food only to increase his appetite for the feast. True repentance, which is the work of the Spirit of God and which gives glory to God, is of another sort. It gives glory to the omniscience of God and to the righteousness of His law, saying with the penitent, Thy law is holy and just and good, the fault is with me, for I am carnal, sold under sin. And it looks to Jesus Christ who was set forth to be a propitiation for sin. Repentance, as the children's hymn well puts it, is to leave the sins we loved before and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. No repentance is true but that which consorts with faith, and no faith is true but that which is linked with hearty and sincere repentance for past sin.

This is the repentance which we must ask for those for whom you intercede. We do not preach repentance as a preparation which man can work in himself, nor as a compensation for sin, as though sorrow could pay for wrongdoing. Repentance and remission of sins are to be preached in Christ's name, and where there is real sorrow for sin and an honest determination by God's grace to cease from sin, that repentance has been produced by the Spirit of God and is as much a gift of His grace as pardon itself. Where there is no repentance there can be no remission, but where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness, a pardon for crimes of deepest dye, a pardon bought with Jesus' blood. For those who truly trust Him there is no condemnation.

Therefore continue in relentless prayer, and pray not only for a momentary stirring but for a practical and lasting work. True repentance will yield works meet for repentance and will last. It will not come upon a man and go away suddenly, but will abide and bring forth fruit. Pray that the goodness of God, which spares and sustains even those who now walk contrary to Him, may lead them to repentance. Pray that they may look to Jesus and weep to think that their Saviour bled and their Sovereign died for sin, and that looking to Him they may hate sin and turn from it because of love to Him who died for them.

We join you in asking the Father that He would cover those who are His with the blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding, and that He would work upon the hearts of those who are yet bound by lies, that they may come to know the truth that sets free, even Jesus Christ who is the Sun of righteousness. May He give to them and to us an unquenchable thirst for righteousness, that we may choose it though there were no reward for it, and may He keep us all sorrowing for pardoned sin at the feet of Jesus, where sweetness is developed through breaking.

Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, and let Christ be exalted on high. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness has been heard and we join you in lifting it before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. It is good that you hunger and thirst for righteousness, for the Lord Himself said blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Christ also cried out, if anyone thirsts let him come to Me and drink, and He promised that whoever believes in Him will have rivers of living water flowing from within, a well springing up into everlasting life, so that he will never thirst again as he does with water that fades.

We agree with you in praying for the team you mentioned and their lawyers and legal representatives, that God in His mercy would save them through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way of salvation. We ask that He would grant them what only He can give, a broken and contrite heart, for the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a contrite and humbled heart which He will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up or seek to justify itself, but is quiet before God, ready to confess sin, to hate sin, and to turn from it.

You have spoken truly that education and knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous, and that even those who know the law can fall into terrible sin and disregard for human life and honest communication. True righteousness and holiness are not of outward form or mere learning, but are of truth in Christ, created anew in righteousness and holiness of truth. Therefore we pray as you have prayed, that God would work in their hearts, bring them to confess with the mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in the heart that God raised Him from the dead, and so be saved, and that He would clothe them with the breastplate of righteousness, a life of virtue that guards the heart and keeps it firm.

We also pray for those among them who are already in Christ, that the precious blood of Christ would cover them and keep them in peace and understanding, and teach them to be both righteous and compassionate, sober and watchful in the conflict against spiritual wickedness.

Let us continue together in prayer, in humility, in repentance and in doing mercy, giving thanks for all things and seeking His will above all. May the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us continue to intercede for them also, and may the Father's will be done. We thank you for sharing this burden and we stand with you in it. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness reflects the very heart of what God desires to work in every person. That hunger is not natural to us, it is awakened by God Himself, and Jesus gave a clear promise that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled.

You are right to see that education, position, or knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. Scripture shows this clearly. Those who tried to establish their own righteousness by keeping the law never attained it, while those who simply trusted God by faith were counted as righteous. Righteousness is not earned, it is given. God credits faith as righteousness and clothes us with the righteousness of Christ when we believe in Jesus. No one can boast before Him, for all have fallen short, and only through faith in Christ can anyone stand righteous before God.

You also prayed from Psalm 51, and that is exactly what God looks for. He is not impressed by outward offerings or religious performance. What He desires is a broken spirit and a contrite heart that honestly recognizes sin, hates it, and turns from it. When a heart is broken in that way, He does not despise it. He forgives, cleanses, and creates a new heart within.

That deep thirst you described is at its root a spiritual thirst. Every person is body, soul, and spirit, and while the body thirsts for water and the soul longs for emotional fulfillment, the spirit thirsts for God Himself. People try to satisfy that thirst with achievements, possessions, or even power and influence, but Jesus said that if you drink of that water you will thirst again. It never satisfies. He alone can quench the thirst for God because He is God, and He invites everyone who thirsts to come to Him and drink. The Holy Spirit then bears witness within us to the truth, giving an inner assurance that we have found what is real.

You asked for truth to set people free, and Jesus is that truth. Mercy and truth met together and righteousness and peace kissed each other at the cross. There God remained just, because the penalty for sin was paid, and at the same time He could be merciful and forgive the guilty. That is how righteousness and peace come together for us, only through Jesus. Apart from His reign, the world cannot know lasting righteousness, love, or peace, no matter how much people strive for it.

So we join you in praying that God would stir those hearts you mentioned, including the legal team and all involved, and also every believer who needs covering and strength. We pray that God would give them a true sight of themselves in His light, which always creates a hunger for His righteousness, and that they would be driven to Jesus to receive it. Salvation is near to all who will call upon Him, and Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. It is never too far off, it is as close as the mouth that confesses Jesus as Lord and the heart that believes God raised Him from the dead.

May the Lord cover those who are His with His blood, grant them peace and understanding, teach them compassion, and guard them in truth. And may He work in every heart that is still bound by lies, granting repentance, a hatred for sin, and an unquenchable thirst for what is right and true, until that thirst is fully satisfied in Christ.
