Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we are deeply encouraged by the humility and burden of your heart.

You have prayed according to the heart of God, for it is written blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled Matthew 5:6 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. We agree with you that Satan is the father of lies and blinds the minds of those who do not believe, as it is written the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them 2 Corinthians 4:4. We also agree that education and knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous, for we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 and there is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death Proverbs 14:12.

We love how you quoted Psalm 51:16-17, for you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise. That is exactly what these lawyers and legal representatives and the team at the place you mentioned need, not just outward correction but inward transformation. Only God can replace a heart of stone with a heart of flesh, as He promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you Ezekiel 36:26. We also rejoice that you came in Jesus name, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We lift this burden together before the throne now.

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that You are holy and just and merciful. We ask that Your will be done in this situation. Lord, we pray for the team and their lawyers and legal representatives who are bound by lies and deception. Shine Your light into their darkness and expose every lie, and give them a holy hatred for sin and a relentless thirst for truth and righteousness that cannot be quenched by anything of this world. Grant them broken and contrite hearts that recognize their sin and turn from it in true repentance toward You through faith in Jesus Christ, for You desire that all people should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. We ask You to forgive those who repent and wash them in the precious blood of Jesus. For those who are chosen and belong to Christ in the midst of this trial, we ask You to cover them, keep them in Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7, and give them wisdom and understanding and compassionate yet righteous hearts. Teach us all not to boast and not to look down on others, but to walk humbly with You, to love mercy and to do justly Micah 6:8, and to trust that You will bring justice in Your perfect time, for You have said vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay Romans 12:19. Stir hearts, Lord, that human life and honest communication would be honored as You command, and let Your Holy Spirit intercede and work powerfully where we cannot. We exalt Your name, Lord Jesus, and we trust You to complete the good work You have begun. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in this intercession, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much James 5:16. Continue to hunger for righteousness yourself and to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, knowing that God is not only able to restrain evil but to save even those who seem farthest from Him.

Thank you for pouring out such an honest prayer for truth and righteousness to prevail. We hear both your grief over dishonest and harmful actions and your humility in not wanting to boast or look down on anyone even as you name the wrong.

That ache you described when human life and honest communication are disregarded is real, and it makes sense it would weigh on you. We are grateful you are bringing it to the Lord instead of carrying it alone, asking Him to work in hearts toward what is right and compassionate.

One insight that has helped others carrying a similar burden is that releasing hurt to God often has two parts. One is a settled decision not to pursue revenge and to will good even for those who have done wrong. The other is slower, the gradual easing of resentment and bitterness as God replaces it with peace. Both matter, and the second often takes time and repeated prayer. You do not have to force either one or pretend the wrong did not matter.

We will keep standing with you, asking God to stir a deep thirst for truth in all involved and to guard your own heart with peace and clarity as you continue to intercede.

Father, we lift this team and their lawyers and representatives to You and ask You to gently work on hearts toward truth, righteousness and compassion. Cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, and keep the one praying close to You, protected from bitterness and strengthened in hope in Your justice and mercy. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a prayer after God's own heart, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace. Blessed indeed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and that hunger itself is often the first tender work of the Holy Spirit within the soul.

You have well quoted the Psalmist, for the sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. You ask rightly that the Lord would work upon the hearts of these men, the team and their lawyers and representatives, that they might not only feel a terror of judgment but be brought to that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. There is a repentance that springs alone from terror and comes up in a night and withers in a night, a superficial repentance that only affects the surface of the man and is hardly more than skin deep. It does not give God glory. But true repentance, the repentance unto life, gives God glory, because it loathes evil as hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone, it is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone.

We therefore do not preach repentance after the manner of Moses, as a thing to be drawn up from the depths of your own heart as water from a well, but we preach repentance in the name of Jesus Christ, as the gift of God. Christ lives to give repentance and remission of sins. If any man's heart is turned away from sin, it is the sure and infallible sign of pardon, for the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Repentance is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul. And that repentance which saves is never alone, it is inseparable from faith. Any repentance that keeps a man from believing in Christ, that makes him think Christ will not save him, needs itself to be repented of. True repentance purges the soul from dead works and faith fills the soul with living works, the one pulls down and the other builds up, and both look out of self to Christ and to Christ only.

We will pray with you to this end. That the God who delights in mercy would cover those who are His own with the precious blood of Christ and give them peace and understanding in the midst of this trial. That He would teach all concerned, learned and unlearned alike, that wisdom without grace cannot make a man righteous, and that He would in His goodness lead sinners to repentance. For it is the goodness of God that leadeth to repentance, and when the heart is truly broken, frivolity and trifling are gone, and the soul becomes serious, solemn and in earnest before God. May the Lord grant to these men not a carnal and fleeting sorrow, but a practical repentance that yieldeth works meet for repentance and that lasteth, a continual lifelong act that groweth as grace enlighteneth the understanding and affecteth the heart. May they be brought to hate sin and to love truth, to disregard no longer human life and honest communication, but to thirst for that righteousness which is found only in Christ, who is the Sun of Righteousness and the center of all truth.

We cast this burden upon the Lord Jesus who ever liveth to make intercession for transgressors. May His will be done, and may He be glorified both in the showing of mercy and in the doing of justice, through Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
