RELENTLESS PRAYER FOR an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness and we agree with you before the Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus.

We are encouraged by your humble and compassionate heart in this request. You are not boasting and you are not looking down on others, but you rightly recognize that education and position, even being learned in the law, does not make a person righteous, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23. We too grieve when human life is disregarded and when honest communication is abandoned, because our God is a God of truth and justice who hates dishonest scales, Proverbs 11:1.

We stand on the promise you quoted that you will know the truth and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me, John 14:6. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that anyone can be saved, Acts 4:12, and we thank you for coming to the Father in Jesus name. We also cling to the beatitude that blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, Matthew 5:6. That is the very thirst you are praying for over this team and their lawyers and legal representatives.

We lift them up together and ask for the Lord to do a deep work in their hearts. We pray that the precious blood of Jesus would cover those who are His chosen and bring peace and understanding that passes all understanding, Philippians 4:7, and that He would draw those who are still bound by Satan's lies out of darkness into His marvelous light, 1 Peter 2:9. We ask that God would give them a broken and contrite heart, for you rightly prayed from Psalm 51:16-17, For you do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. We pray with you that the Lord would teach them to be righteous and compassionate and to hate their sin enough to turn from it, and that He would give them a new heart and put a new spirit within them, Ezekiel 36:26. We remember also that to obey is better than sacrifice, 1 Samuel 15:22, and we ask that they would learn obedience to the Lord rather than continuing in what is evil in His eyes.

We thank the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered, Romans 8:26, and we trust that He is interceding for us and for them even now. We do not pray for vengeance but for salvation and transformation, that they would be forgiven and would no longer do what is evil, but would walk in truth and righteousness for His glory.

Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to pour out Your mercy on the team at the organization mentioned and on their lawyers and legal representatives. Save those who do not know You, forgive their sins through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross, and cover Your children among them with Your peace and wisdom. Break and soften hard hearts, create in them clean hearts and renew a right spirit within them, Psalm 51:10. Stir them, Lord, to hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness and let them find fullness in You alone. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, Matthew 6:10, and let Your name be exalted. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear the burden in your prayer for truth and righteousness to prevail, and for hearts to be softened. It is painful to watch honesty and respect for human life feel disregarded, especially when it involves people in positions of trust like legal teams, and we are grateful you are bringing that grief directly to the Father in Jesus' name.

We join you in asking for His covering over those who are vulnerable, and for His work in the hearts of those you mentioned, that they would come to see what is true and turn from what is harmful. Praying this way for others, even those who have caused hurt, is a faithful and often wearying kind of intercession.

One thing that helps many who carry this kind of concern is understanding that the decision to release a wrong to God and the quieting of the hurt inside often move at different paces. You can choose before God to let go of revenge and to desire what is right for the other person, while still needing time for resentment and sorrow to ease as you keep bringing it to Him. If those feelings rise again, it does not mean your prayer has failed.

We will continue to stand with you for that unquenchable thirst for what is true and right to grow, and for your own peace as you wait on the Lord.

Father, we lift this burden to You in Jesus' name. Cover those who need Your protection with Your peace and wisdom, work in the hearts of those who have acted unjustly to bring conviction and a love for truth, and guard our friend's heart from weariness. Let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is a right and needful prayer, and we join with you in it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ.

You have prayed according to the Scripture which says, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise. This is the true sacrifice which God accepts, not outward forms or learned arguments, but a heart humbled before Him. We ask with you that the Lord would work such a heart in those for whom you intercede, the team and their lawyers and all who are concerned, that they may not rest in a superficial repentance which only affects the surface of the man and is hardly more than skin deep, a repentance that springs alone from terror and withers as quickly as it appears, but that they may receive that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit.

For judgments and terrors alone can never work evangelical repentance in a single human heart. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone, it is a sense of blood bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone. True repentance gives God glory, it makes the sinner loathe sin because it is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. It is a repentance unto life, practical, yielding works meet for repentance, lasting and growing continually, not a transient feeling but a lifelong act.

We pray therefore that God would grant repentance as His own gift in the name of Jesus Christ. You are not to seek to draw up repentance from the depths of your own heart as you might draw water from a well, but to ask Christ to work repentance by His Holy Spirit through belief of the truth as it is recorded in the Word of God. For Jesus lives to give repentance and remission of sins, and He lives to make intercession for transgressors. Any repentance that keeps a soul from believing in Christ is a repentance that needs to be repented of. The repentance we preach is one connected with faith, the repentance which purges the soul from dead works and the faith which fills the soul with living works, the repentance which pulls down and the faith which builds up on Christ the sole Master of the heart.

You have rightly observed that education and knowledge of the law cannot make a man righteous, for the demand for a change of heart is absolutely necessary. The goodness of God is meant to lead men to repentance, and He delights in mercy and His mercy endures forever. We pray that His goodness and His holiness may prick the heart, for a saving impression is always a prick in the heart, painful yet operative, causing the soul to cry, what must we do, and to turn with earnest inquiry to Christ.

We pray that the Lord Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness, who is the center and King of all truth, would shine His light into every dark place, that lies may be scattered and truth loved, that human life may be honored and honest communication restored, and that those who are His may be covered by His precious blood and kept in peace and understanding, learning to be righteous and compassionate as He is.

May the Lord grant to you perseverance in this relentless prayer, and may He grant to those for whom you pray that broken and contrite spirit which He will not despise, and that faith which looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, that they may hate sin, forsake it, and thirst henceforth for truth and righteousness for His glory. We ask this trusting not in our own pleading but in the intercession of the Holy Spirit and the finished work of Christ, that the will of our heavenly Father may be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is good and right, and we join our prayer to yours before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

The Lord Himself cried out, If any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. He does not draw us by force, but He calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come as thirsty men come to water and drink eagerly. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. This is the thirst you have rightly asked for, not only for yourself but for those who are bound in lies, that they might come to the living water which springs up into everlasting life and never thirst again.

You have prayed well for those lawyers and representatives and for all who are entangled in sin. It is true that learning and position do not make a person righteous. There was a righteousness of outward observance, but the true righteousness is in holiness of truth, when a person is made new and becomes a child of God. That new life comes only through faith in Christ, for the word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart, that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. So we pray that those for whom you intercede may come to this confession and this faith, that their eyes may be opened to the truth that sets free.

You also quoted rightly from Psalm 51. God does not delight in outward sacrifice alone, but the sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. Such a heart does not rise up in pride or seek vengeance, but is quiet and ready to be corrected and to turn from sin. We ask with you that God in His mercy would grant such a contrite and humbled heart to those who have disregarded what is good and honest, that they would recognize their sin, hate it, and turn from it. For God gives this kind of heart, sober and awestruck and full of repentance, and we are in great need of it as we wrestle against spiritual wickedness.

We pray also as you asked for those who are in Christ, that the blood of Christ would cover them and that they would be kept in peace and understanding. May they put on the breastplate of righteousness, a life of universal virtue fixed in the heart, so that they may stand firm and not be overcome.

Let us continue in relentless prayer, giving thanks for all things, showing mercy, remaining humble, and seeking the Lord with a sincere heart. May the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us work in every heart according to the will of the Father, and may all be brought to hunger and thirst for what is true and right in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself pleasing to God, and it reflects the very promise Jesus gave when He said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. That kind of hunger is not natural to our fallen nature. God Himself places within every person a deep thirst for Him, and we often try to satisfy it with other things, but it is only satisfied when we come to Christ. Jesus said if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink, because He alone can quench the thirst of the spirit.

You are right to pray that those who are opposing what is true and disregarding human life would come to see their need. Education, position, or knowledge of the law cannot make a person righteous. Scripture is clear that we are not made righteous by our own works or by trying to establish our own goodness. Righteousness is given by God through faith in Jesus Christ, who became a curse for us on the tree so that His righteousness might be credited to all who believe. The ones you are praying for do not need only better understanding of legal matters, they need a new heart.

That is why your reference to Psalm 51 is so fitting. God does not delight in outward performance or sacrifice alone. What He desires and will not despise is a broken spirit and a contrite heart that recognizes sin, hates it, and turns from it. God looks not on outward appearance as people do, but on the heart. Only He can search the heart and show a person what is truly there, and only He can create clean hands and a pure heart. Those who have that purity will see God and will receive blessing and righteousness from the God of salvation.

Jesus said the truth shall set you free, and He Himself is the truth. When truth and mercy meet together and righteousness and peace kiss, as the Psalm says, there is life and freedom. But when people hold the truth in unrighteousness, the wrath of God is revealed against that. What is needed is what you prayed for, an undivided heart that fears the Lord and walks in His truth. Our hearts are easily divided, pulled between desire for God and desire for the things of the world, and we need God to unite our hearts to seek Him wholly.

It is also right that you pray with compassion and not with a spirit of looking down on others. It is easy to pray for ourselves with a plea for mercy and grace, and to pray for those who have wronged us with a desire for judgment. God calls us to pray for mercy for our enemies as well, asking Him to do a work in them that leads to repentance and salvation. Do not blame God for the evil and tragedy that people do. Evil comes from sin and from the enemy who still works in this world. Our hope is in the coming kingdom of God when Christ will set all things right, and until then we pray Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.

We join you in asking the Father in the name of Jesus to work deeply in the hearts of each person you mentioned, including their legal representatives, to convict them of sin, to bring them to a broken and honest confession before Him, to grant them repentance and faith in Christ alone for salvation, and to cover those who are His with the blood of Jesus, giving peace and understanding. May He create in them a true and lasting thirst for truth and for His righteousness, and teach them to walk in compassion and honesty. We trust the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us to continue this work according to the will of the Father.
