Relentless prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.

Kensem

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, we come to you in Jesus name

It is written, 'The truth shall set you free.'
Lord Jesus, we pray that you save the team at ###, their lawyers and legal representatives, who are bound by Satan's lies.
We ask your precious blood over those who are chosen and Christians. May you cover them and give them peace and understanding.
May you teach them to be righteous and compassionate.
As we can see, even those who are lawyers and studied law can engage themselves in horrible sins.
Lord, I pray you forgive their sins and let them not do anything that is evil in your eyes.
Lord, we do not wish to boast before You, nor do we wish to look down on lawyers who fall short of Your glory.
However, we humbly acknowledge that we cannot always expect the educated to act righteously.
Lord it is written in Psalms 51,
16For You do not delight in sacrifice, or else I would give it;
You are not pleased with burnt offering. [1 Sam 15:22]
17My sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit;
A broken and contrite heart such, O God, You will not despise.
Lord, I pray in Jesus name that you work on their hearts so that they can recognise their sins and hate their sins enough so that they don't continue to live a sinful life.
Lord it grieves my heart how these people are disregarding human life and honest communication.
Stir their hearts, Lord, and give them an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness.
We thank Your Holiness and Your Holy Spirit who is interceding for us and them all the time.
We exalt your name on high, Jesus Christ.
Let your will be done, Heavenly Father, amen

We join you in this fervent cry for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness, for we know that only in Christ are these found in their fullness. Jesus Himself declared, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6 WEB). This hunger is not of the flesh but of the spirit, a deep longing for the things of God that only He can satisfy.

We lift up the team at ### and their legal representatives, praying that the scales of deception would fall from their eyes. The enemy seeks to blind minds to the truth of the gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4), but we stand in the authority of Jesus’ name to break every chain of lies. The blood of Christ has power to cleanse from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7), and we plead that blood over them now. May they encounter the living God in a way that shatters their reliance on worldly wisdom and exposes the emptiness of sin.

It is a sobering truth that even those trained in the law can become instruments of injustice when they reject God’s law. As it is written, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death" (Proverbs 14:12 WEB). We do not judge them, for we too are sinners saved by grace, but we boldly declare that apart from Christ, there is no true righteousness. Their education, their positions, their arguments, none of these can justify them before a holy God. Only repentance and faith in Jesus can save.

We rebuke the spirit of pride that blinds them to their need for a Savior. The Lord resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). We pray that their hearts would be broken over their sin, not in despair, but in godly sorrow that leads to repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10). May they hate their sin as much as God does and turn from it with all their hearts.

Father, we ask that You stir within them a hunger for Your Word, a longing to know You as You truly are. Let them taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8). May they be convicted by the Holy Spirit, not just of their actions, but of the condition of their hearts. Give them a thirst that can only be quenched by the living water of Christ (John 4:14). Let them see the futility of their ways and the beauty of Your holiness.

We also pray for the Christians among them, that they would stand firm in the faith, not compromising with the world’s standards. Strengthen them to be salt and light in their spheres of influence (Matthew 5:13-16). May they walk in the fear of the Lord, not the fear of man, and may their lives be a testimony to the transforming power of the gospel.

Lord, we acknowledge that Your will is perfect, and we submit to it. If it is Your will, bring these individuals to repentance and faith. If they continue in hardness of heart, may Your justice prevail, but let it be tempered with mercy. We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you intercede for this team and their lawyers. It is disheartening when education and position do not lead to honesty and compassion, and we join you in grieving the ways truth has been disregarded.

We appreciate your humble posture in this prayer. You are not asking to look down on anyone, but asking God to do what only He can do, to soften hearts so that wrong is recognized for what it is and turned from, and to give a real thirst for what is right and true. That kind of change is a work of the heart, and we are encouraged that you are entrusting it to Him rather than trying to force it yourself.

One thing that may help as you keep praying is to give this burden a steady place and then a resting place each day. Bring these names before the Lord at a set time, ask for His will and His mercy over them, and then consciously leave the outcome in His hands. It can keep relentless prayer from becoming a relentless weight on you, and keep your own heart guarded in peace as the Holy Spirit continues to intercede.

Father, in Jesus name we lift this team and their representatives to You and we lift our friend praying for them. Work in every heart involved, bring conviction where it is needed and a deep desire for truth and righteousness, cover Your people with Your peace and understanding, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is itself a sign of grace at work, for it is God who puts such hunger into the heart. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled, and that hunger is never satisfied with the husks of this world but only with Christ himself.

You have prayed well in quoting that the truth shall make you free, and the Scripture shows us that men are saved and come to the knowledge of the truth together. There is no salvation apart from knowing the truth as it is in Jesus. Salvation is not in man, nor in ceremonies, nor in learning, nor in the wisdom of lawyers, but in the precious blood of Christ alone, who was nailed to the cross for sinners. When the heart comes to know this truth, that Christ is both very God and very man and that He has offered a real atonement for real sinners, then it is saved from despair and from false confidences. You who feel your sin and theirs, you are the very ones for whom there is truth in God's salvation.

You ask rightly that God would work upon their hearts to give them a broken and contrite spirit, which He will not despise. Take care to know what true repentance is. There is a repentance which is not better than the flesh and which God abhors, a superficial sorrow that soon returns to its sin. But true repentance hates sin as sin, loathes its sweetness because it has found deadly poison in it, and turns from it with purpose of heart. Such repentance gives God glory, for it stands at the cross and sees sin forgiven and then grieves more than ever that it should have wounded Christ. It is the repentance which ejects sin as an evil tenant that Christ himself may enter and reign as sole master of the heart. Pray then not only that these souls may be sorry, but that they may have that dove eyed repentance which looks at His bleeding wounds and feels that the heart must bleed because it wounded Him.

Be encouraged that Jesus Christ lives to give repentance and remission of sins. He lives to make intercession for transgressors and to give to sinners the Holy Spirit to work in them true belief and true repentance. He could not pass by a sorrow stricken heart when He was upon earth, and He is the same now. He binds up broken hearts, even those most despised and most hardened, and is mighty to save and to do for them what they cannot do for themselves. There is joy in the heart of God himself over every sinner's repentance, and He is able to break the gods of gold and of pride and of self righteousness that keep men from looking to the living God.

So let us join you in prayer to the Father in the name of Jesus. May the Lord cover with His blood those who are His, and keep them in peace and understanding. May He stir the hearts of those at that place and their lawyers and representatives who are yet bound by Satan's lies, and grant them to see their sin as God sees it, to hate it and to forsake it. May He give them that unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness which only He can satisfy, teaching them to be righteous and compassionate and to love honest communication and regard for human life. May He grant them a whole heart to give to Him, for a divided heart is no heart at all, and may they open the door to Christ and receive Him by faith to become the sons of God.

Continue steadfast in this intercession, for the Lord preserves the faithful and He shall strengthen your heart as you hope in Him. Trust, and the work is done, and you shall know the truth of His salvation more and more. Let your will be done, O Lord, and let Christ be exalted on high. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the Lord.

It is good and blessed to ask for this thirst, for the Lord Himself said blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. And again He stood and cried, if any man thirst, let him come to me and drink. He does not draw us by force, but calls those who are inflamed with desire, who come to Him as thirsty men come to water, eager to drink and to retain what is given. This is the thirst you have rightly asked for, not a passing feeling but a continual longing that is kindled and kept alive.

You have prayed well for those who are entangled in lies and who disregard truth and human life, including the team and the lawyers of whom you spoke. We do not ask God to bless what is evil or to overlook sin, but we do ask Him to have mercy and to save. Even the educated and the learned can fall into horrible sins, as you have seen, for knowledge of the law does not make a person righteous. True righteousness is not in outward form but in truth, and it comes only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and new life in Him. We pray that God will open their eyes, convict them by His Spirit, and grant them repentance.

You quoted the Psalm rightly, that God does not delight in outward sacrifice but in a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart which He will not despise. That contrite heart is itself a gift from God, sober and humble and ready to be corrected, not rising up to boast or to strike back. We ask the Lord to work such a heart in those who have done evil, that they may recognize their sins, hate their sins, and turn from them, and that they may come to thirst for what is true and right. As Christ said to the woman at the well, whoever drinks of the water that He gives shall never thirst again, but it shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. Only He can satisfy that thirst.

We also pray as you did for those who are chosen in Christ, that the Lord will cover them with His peace and understanding and clothe them with the breastplate of righteousness. That breastplate is a life of virtue lived in Christ, and it keeps a person firm when many wound him, so that even the adversary cannot cut through. May God keep His people in such righteousness and compassion.

Do not grow weary in this prayer. Continue not with boasting or with looking down on others, but with humility and with love, knowing that we all fall short of the glory of God and that we too need mercy every day. Bring your petitions with a contrite heart, with thanksgiving, with prayer and with doing good to others, for God has given us many ways to seek His mercy.

So we pray together, Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son who alone is our salvation, grant to all who are bound in falsehood a true thirst for truth and righteousness. Grant them a broken and contrite heart, forgive their sins through the blood of Christ, and teach them to walk in righteousness and compassion. Guard Your people in peace, and let Your will be done. Amen.

Your prayer for an unquenchable thirst for truth and righteousness is pleasing to God, and it echoes the promise Jesus gave that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled. That hunger is not natural to us. It is God who stirs the heart to long for what is right and true, and He delights to answer that prayer.

You are right to ask that those who are bound by lies would come to know the truth that sets free. Jesus Himself is the truth, and He has given the Holy Spirit to guide into all truth. In our own strength we cannot open blinded eyes. The enemy works to keep people in darkness, but through persevering prayer his power can be bound and eyes can be opened. When a person sees the truth clearly, the good news that God has made a way for sinners to have peace with Him through the blood of Jesus becomes plain and precious. Continue to pray that the Spirit would do that work, and that these men and women would be set apart by the truth of God's Word.

You have also noted wisely that education and knowledge of the law do not make a person righteous. Scripture teaches that righteousness does not come by the law or by our own efforts to establish it. Even those who are zealous and learned fall short of the glory of God, as we all do. True righteousness is received as a gift. Abraham believed God and his faith was counted to him for righteousness, and in the same way God imputes the righteousness of Christ to everyone who believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, not to the one who tries to earn it by works. Pray that they would see this, that they would stop trusting in their own standing and receive the righteousness that comes through faith in Jesus alone.

Your reference to Psalm 51 is at the heart of this. God does not delight in outward sacrifice while the heart remains hard. What He desires and will not despise is a broken spirit and a contrite heart. There is a sorrow that is only regret for being caught, and if a person is sorry yet keeps doing the same thing, that sorrow leads to death. Godly sorrow is different. It leads to repentance, and repentance always means a change. It is to recognize sin, to hate it, and to turn from it and no longer walk in it. Pray for that kind of work in their hearts, that they would not only feel remorse but would turn away from what is evil in God's sight and learn to love what is good, to act with compassion and honesty and to regard human life as God does.

God is gracious and full of compassion, long suffering and patient, and He waits to show mercy. Yet His throne is founded on righteousness and judgment, and He will in His time judge the earth in righteousness and truth. He preserves the souls of His saints and delivers them from the hand of the wicked, and light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. Do not blame God for the evil and death and dishonesty in this world. Those things are the fruit of sin and of the enemy's rule. Instead long for and pray for His kingdom to come, when He will set all things right and Satan will be cast out. Until then He calls us to hate evil, to love righteousness, to give thanks for His goodness and mercy which endure, and to endure as good soldiers in a corrupt world.

Keep praying as you are doing, with supplication for all people and with the covering of the blood of Christ over those who are His, that God would grant peace and understanding. Ask Him to teach all of you to walk humbly, without boasting and without looking down on others, remembering that we too depend wholly on His grace. May He increase your own thirst for truth and righteousness as well, and may He answer by drawing many to salvation and to a changed life.
