We join you in bringing this honest confession before the Lord and we thank you for your humility in acknowledging that you have been in relationships you should never have been in. It takes courage to admit this, and God honors a broken and contrite heart. We hear your desire for Him to mend what has been broken for yourself and for others who have been affected, and we stand with you to seek His forgiveness, healing, and restoration.
The Bible makes it clear that relationships between a man and a woman are to be entered into with great intentionality and purity, with courtship being for the purpose of discerning marriage to another Christian believer, and marriage itself being a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman that honors God. We are told not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers in 2 Corinthians 6:14, to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that marriage should be held in honor among all and the marriage bed undefiled in Hebrews 13:4. Any relationship that involves sex outside of marriage is fornication, and if it involves someone married to another it is adultery, and these things grieve the Lord, wound our own souls, and harm others. When we step outside of God's design for relationships, even with good intentions, we cause confusion, pain, and consequences that can linger long after the relationship ends. We gently rebuke those choices while also rejoicing that you now see them rightly and want to turn from them.
There is wonderful hope for you because God is merciful and ready to forgive when we confess and forsake sin. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9, and though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow in Isaiah 1:18. He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy in Proverbs 28:13. We encourage you to fully repent, which means to turn away from fornication and from pursuing relationships that are not aligned with Scripture, and to ask God to create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you as in Psalm 51:10. Going forward, we encourage you to pursue purity and to seek a godly spouse only in the Lord's timing and in His way, rather than simply seeking a partner or companionship.
We also want to lovingly point out that your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus Christ. We want to make sure you know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is by placing your faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, that your sins are forgiven and you are made right with God. If you have not already done so, we urge you to call upon the name of Jesus in repentance and faith.
We are encouraged that God is able to mend and restore what has been broken. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3, and He promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten in Joel 2:25. We know that God works all things together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose in Romans 8:28, even when we have made poor choices.
We pray together with you now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one who has confessed being in relationships that were not Your will. Lord, we ask for Your complete forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. Wash away all sin and cleanse this heart. Create a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within. We pray that You would bring healing to every wound caused to this life and to the lives of others who were hurt through these relationships. Mend broken trust, soothe painful memories, and restore what the enemy has damaged. Help this one to walk in purity from this day forward, to flee sexual immorality, and to wait upon You for a godly marriage if it is Your will, seeking only a spouse who loves You and walks with You. Give wisdom, discernment, and strength to say no to temptation and to set godly boundaries. Fill the heart with Your peace and assurance that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. May this life be a testimony of Your grace and restoration. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Mediator, amen.

There is forgiveness with God, and your honest acknowledgment that you have been in relationships you should never have been in is heard before Him. We thank you for bringing this burden into the light, and we will pray with you that the Lord will mend what has been broken by these choices, both for yourself and for others who have been affected.
The Scriptures teach us to weigh our repentance with great care. There is a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, a regret that fears consequences, and there is a true repentance which is the work of the Holy Spirit in the renewed heart. True repentance gives God glory. It stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven through the finished work of Christ, and then it grieves all the more that such sin was laid upon the Savior. It is not a passing feeling to be gotten through at the beginning of the spiritual life and then set aside, for repentance lives as long as faith lives. It is inseparable from faith in Christ, the repentance which purges the soul from dead works while faith fills it with living works, the one pulling down what is evil and the other building up what is holy.
You ask whether God can mend problems caused by the past. We point you to the certainty that there is forgiveness with Him, through Jesus Christ alone. It is a divine forgiveness, for He says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. It is a surprising forgiveness, so great that it seems to surprise even the declaration of it, and a complete forgiveness, as when a creditor cancels the whole debt for one who has nothing to pay. It is not only forgiveness at the first, but a continuous and eternal forgiveness for all who put their trust in Christ. Where God draws no limit, we need not draw any, for there is forgiveness for whatever your sins may have been if you come to Him through His Son.
True repentance unto life will show itself as practical and lasting. It yields works meet for repentance and it endures. It makes us weep and abhor our past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it makes us avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for us. It leads us to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, for salvation.
So we pray for you, that the Lord would grant you that gracious, godly repentance which needs not to be repented of, and a clear faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your only hope. We ask Him to forgive you freely for Christ's sake, to cleanse your conscience, to heal the wounds you have caused to others so far as it is in His mercy to mend them, and to give you grace to walk henceforth in purity according to His design, that sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. May He guard your heart, make your repentance fruitful in a changed life, and keep you near the Savior where forgiveness is found. We will continue to ask that He who has begun a good work in you will make it evident in daily obedience, in humility, and in love for Him who has forgiven so much.
