Beloved of All
The ache for a love that is strong, faithful, and unconditional is not a foolish thing. God Himself placed within a woman a deep need to be loved securely and cherished supremely. That longing is real, and it points to something greater than any human relationship can ultimately provide. Before you dream of a man who will love you without condition, you must first be rooted and grounded in the love that alone has no limits and no end. God is love. Everything we truly need in love is found in knowing Him through Jesus Christ. When we come into that new relationship with God, not through ritual or effort but by faith in His Son, the love we receive begins to overflow into every other part of life.
Walking in this love means your life is no longer shaped by the world’s cheap counterfeits, impurity, empty talk, or self-centered desires. You become a child of God, known by Him, and your desire to do what pleases Him grows strong. That is the foundation. Only from that place can you rightly hope for marriage as God intended it: a lifelong duet, not a duel. Two lives becoming one in harmony because the husband loves his wife as Christ loved the church, giving himself up for her, and the wife submits to her husband as to the Lord. God made men and women with different needs, and His commands are perfectly fitted. A husband is commanded to love totally because God understands a woman’s heart. A wife is given one simple rule because God understands the man’s tendency to resist. When both follow this design, marriage becomes a taste of heaven on earth.
So I pray that you would first settle your whole heart on your first love, the Lord Jesus, and let His love satisfy you. Let His will become your deepest desire. Then, if He calls you to marriage, He will bring it about in His time and in a way that honors His holiness. I ask God to guard your mind and your body in purity, that you would abstain from anything less than His will for your sanctification. May He give you the patience to wait for a man who truly knows the Lord and will love you not with shallow emotion but with the self-sacrificing love that flows from Christ. And may the life you desire become swallowed up in a life that glorifies God, whether single or married, because you have learned that his love is better than life itself.
