We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, seeking His wisdom and guidance in this matter. First and foremost, we must address the foundational truth that our prayers are heard only through the name of Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so, for He is the only mediator between God and mankind (1 Timothy 2:5).
Now, regarding your request, we must approach it with both compassion and biblical truth. The desire to reconcile with someone from your past is understandable, but we must examine this situation carefully in light of Scripture. The Bible tells us that love keeps no record of wrongs and does not hold grudges (1 Corinthians 13:5), but it also instructs us to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23) and to be wise in our relationships.
If this relationship was marked by sin—such as fornication, emotional unfaithfulness, or other behaviors not aligned with God’s design—then we must first repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness. The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this was the case, we must rebuke the sin and ask the Lord to cleanse and restore both of you in holiness.
If this relationship was not rooted in Christ, we must also consider whether it was ever God’s will for the two of you to be together. The Bible instructs believers not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), and if your ex-girlfriend is not a follower of Christ, we must question whether reconciliation is truly in God’s plan. Our priority should be seeking a spouse who shares our faith and commitment to the Lord.
That said, we do pray for healing, forgiveness, and wisdom in this situation. If it is God’s will for reconciliation, we ask that He soften both of your hearts, remove bitterness, and guide your steps in righteousness. If it is not His will, we pray for the strength to accept His plan and move forward in faith.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this situation. Lord, we pray for forgiveness where there has been sin—whether in thought, word, or deed. Cleanse and renew both hearts, that they may be aligned with Your will. Father, if it is Your desire for reconciliation, we ask that You remove all barriers, heal past wounds, and restore communication in a way that honors You. If this relationship was not of You, we pray for the strength to release it and trust in Your perfect plan.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of unforgiveness, bitterness, or pride that may be hindering this situation. We declare that grudges have no place in the lives of Your children, and we ask that You replace them with Your peace and love. Guide both individuals to seek You first, to walk in obedience, and to prioritize Your kingdom above all else.
Father, if this relationship is to be restored, we pray that it would be built on a foundation of Christ, with both individuals committed to purity, holiness, and mutual respect. If it is not to be, we ask for the grace to accept Your will and to move forward in faith, trusting that You have something better in store.
We surrender this situation to You, Lord, and ask that Your will be done. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
