We hear your heart’s cry for restoration and peace in your relationship, and we join you in seeking God’s will in this matter. First, let us address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His authority that we come before God’s throne. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be Lord of your life (Romans 10:9-10). Without this, our prayers lack the power and authority they are meant to carry.
Now, regarding your request, we must first examine the relationship itself through the lens of Scripture. The Bible is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). If you and your girlfriend are not married, we must encourage you to consider whether this relationship is honoring to God. Courtship should always have marriage as its goal, and it should be pursued with purity, avoiding the sin of fornication (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage or is not aligned with God’s design, we must ask whether it is wise to continue investing in it.
That said, if you are both believers committed to pursuing marriage in a way that honors God, we can pray for wisdom and discernment. The influence of others in your lives is a valid concern. The Bible warns us about the company we keep, as bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33). Protect their hearts and minds from the schemes of the enemy, and surround them with godly friends who will encourage them in their faith and relationship. Father, we also ask that You would reveal any areas in their lives where they need to grow or repent. Give them the humility to receive Your correction and the courage to make changes where needed.
Lord, we pray for unity and peace in this relationship. Help them to communicate with love and respect, and to build their foundation on You. If marriage is Your plan for them, prepare their hearts and guide their steps toward that commitment. If not, give them the strength to let go and trust in Your perfect plan.
We rebuke any spirit of division, jealousy, or strife that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against this relationship shall prosper, and we stand on Your promise that where two or three are gathered in Your name, You are there in their midst (Matthew 18:20).
