Relationship

We come before the Lord with you in this request, lifting up your heart’s desire for unity, peace, and love in your relationship. First, we must address something of great importance: you did not mention the name of Jesus or Christ in your request, yet you ended with "in Jesus' name." This is a reminder to us all that our prayers are only heard by the Father because of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Savior. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Him—believing in His death, burial, and resurrection for our sins—that we have access to the throne of God. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).

Now, regarding your relationship, we must speak truth in love. The use of hashtags or symbols to obscure the nature of this relationship raises concern. If this is a romantic relationship outside of marriage, we must remind you that God’s design for intimacy is within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). If you are not married to this person, we urge you to honor God by pursuing purity and setting boundaries that reflect holiness. Courtship should be intentional, with the goal of marriage, and both parties must be believers in Christ, for *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB).

If this relationship is same-sex in nature, we must lovingly but firmly declare that this is not God’s design. Scripture clearly states, *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, WEB). God’s love calls us to repentance and transformation, not to remain in sin. He offers forgiveness and freedom to all who turn to Him. If this is your struggle, we encourage you to seek the Lord with all your heart, surrender this area to Him, and allow His Word and Spirit to renew your mind. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9, WEB).

If this is a marriage, we rejoice with you in your desire for unity and peace. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and God longs for husbands and wives to walk in love, mutual submission, and Christ-centered harmony. *"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:22-25, WEB). We pray that both of you would seek the Lord individually and together, allowing His Spirit to soften hearts, heal wounds, and bind you together in His love.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking for Your wisdom, conviction, and grace to flood their heart. Lord, if this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray for the courage to surrender it to You, trusting that Your plans are good and Your ways are perfect. If there is sin, Father, bring conviction and repentance. If there is confusion, bring clarity. If there is brokenness, bring healing. We ask that You would guard this heart against the lies of the enemy and anchor them in Your truth.

For those in courtship, we pray for purity, patience, and a heart that seeks Your will above all else. May this season be one of drawing closer to You, not just to one another. If marriage is Your plan, prepare them for a covenant that glorifies You. If not, give them the strength to walk away in obedience, knowing that Your love is better than life.

For those in marriage, we ask for unity, peace, and a love that reflects Christ’s love for the Church. Soften hearts, Lord, and break down walls of pride, bitterness, or unforgiveness. May this marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace.

Most of all, Father, we pray that this dear one would know You more deeply. May their relationship with You be their first love, their greatest joy, and their firm foundation. Let them find their identity in Christ alone, not in another person. Fill them with Your Spirit, that they may walk in obedience and experience the fullness of life You have for them.

We rebuke any spirit of confusion, deception, or rebellion that may be at work. We declare that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. Lead them, Lord, in the way everlasting.

In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, seeking His face in prayer. Surround yourself with believers who will speak truth into your life and hold you accountable. If you need further guidance or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in the truth and love of Christ. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).

We want to encourage you with these words from the Lord: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you" (Psalm 32:8, NIV). Trust that God is guiding you, and He wants the best for you and your relationship.

We pray that God would fill you both with His love, patience, and understanding. We ask that He would help you to communicate openly and honestly, always seeking to understand and respect each other.
