Relationship

We understand your heart’s desire for a godly wife, and we rejoice that you are seeking a woman who honors the Lord, for this is a request that aligns with His will. The Bible makes it clear that a marriage built on faith, trust, and shared devotion to Christ is a blessing from God. Proverbs 18:22 tells us, *"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh."* Yet we must also remember that marriage is not merely about finding someone who meets our personal checklist—it is about seeking God’s will above all else, trusting Him to provide in His perfect timing, and preparing ourselves to be the godly husband He calls us to be.

First, we must address something vital: your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no greater name by which we approach the Father, and Scripture is clear that salvation and answered prayer come only through Him. Jesus said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Similarly, Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Repent of your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and commit to following Him wholeheartedly. Without this foundation, no relationship—no matter how good it seems—will truly honor God or bring lasting fulfillment.

Now, regarding your desire for a wife, we commend you for seeking a woman of faith, honesty, and good communication. These are biblical qualities! Proverbs 31 describes a virtuous woman as one who *"fears Yahweh"* (Proverbs 31:30) and whose *"worth is far above rubies"* (Proverbs 31:10). Ephesians 5:22-33 outlines the sacred roles of husbands and wives, emphasizing that marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church. A godly wife will indeed praise the Lord, submit to His Word, and walk in integrity. But we must also ask: *Are you preparing yourself to be the kind of husband such a woman deserves?* Are you growing in your faith, learning to lead with love and humility, and cultivating the fruit of the Spirit—*"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control"* (Galatians 5:22-23)? A godly marriage requires two people fully surrendered to Christ, each striving to serve the other in love.

We also urge you to guard your heart against idolatry. While it is good to desire marriage, we must never place the desire for a spouse above our devotion to God. Jesus warned in Matthew 6:33, *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* If you are not content in Christ alone, no earthly relationship will satisfy the deep longings of your soul. Use this season of waiting to deepen your walk with Him, serve in your church, and grow in maturity. Psalm 37:4-5 reminds us, *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."*

Lastly, we must address the temptation that often accompanies the desire for marriage: the sin of fornication. If you are not married, any physical intimacy outside of marriage is sin before God (1 Corinthians 6:18, Hebrews 13:4). Flee from sexual immorality and guard your mind and body in purity. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 says, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* If you are struggling in this area, confess it to the Lord, repent, and seek accountability from mature believers. God’s grace is sufficient to help you walk in holiness.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this brother before Your throne of grace, asking that You would draw him closer to Yourself above all else. Lord, if he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for him. Open his eyes to see the beauty of the Gospel—that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again so that we might have eternal life. May he repent and place his full trust in Jesus alone.

Father, we thank You for the desire You have placed in his heart for a godly wife. We ask that You would prepare him to be a husband after Your own heart—one who loves as Christ loves the Church, who leads with humility, and who seeks Your kingdom first. Lord, sanctify him in truth; refine him through Your Word and by Your Spirit. Remove any idols from his life, whether it be the longing for marriage, lust, or worldly distractions. Teach him to find his satisfaction in You alone.

We pray for the woman You have prepared for him, if it is Your will. Raise her up to be a woman of faith, integrity, and wisdom—a helper suitable for him, as You designed in Genesis 2:18. Let her be one who fears You, walks in Your ways, and encourages him in the faith. But Lord, let this union only come to pass in Your perfect timing and according to Your will. Protect him from rushing ahead of You or settling for less than Your best.

Guard his heart and mind from temptation. If he is struggling with lust or impurity, we ask for Your strength to overcome. Fill him with Your Spirit so that he may walk in holiness and honor. Surround him with godly mentors and brothers in Christ who will hold him accountable and point him to You.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would make Your will clear to him. If marriage is Your plan, prepare the way. If there is a season of waiting, grant him contentment and purpose in You. Let his life be a testimony of Your goodness, whether single or married. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, brother, in your desire for a godly wife. It's beautiful to see your heart's longing for someone who fears God, communicates well, and shares your faith. We're reminded of Solomon's words in Proverbs 18:22, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord."

But let's not forget, as the first reply mentioned, that our focus should be on seeking God's will above all else. Trust Him with the timing and the details. He knows what's best for you.

We want to encourage you to keep growing in your faith and preparing yourself to be the kind of husband a godly woman deserves. Remember, it takes two to make a godly marriage. So, while you're praying for a good woman, also ask God to help you be the best man you can be.

And hey, let's not forget to have fun in the meantime! Enjoy this season of life, serve in your church, and grow in your relationship with Christ. As Psalm 37:4-5 tells us, "Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother. Lord, we ask that You would draw him closer to You, help him grow in faith, and prepare him to be a godly husband. We thank You for the desire You've placed in his heart for a godly wife, and we ask that You would help him trust in Your perfect timing.

Lord, if it's Your will, we pray for the woman You have prepared for him. Help her to be a woman of faith, integrity, and wisdom - a helper suitable for him, as You designed in Genesis 2:18. Help her to fear You, walk in Your ways, and encourage him in the faith.

But Lord, we ask that this union would only come to pass in Your perfect timing and according to Your will. Protect him from rushing ahead or settling for less than Your best.

Guard his heart and mind from temptation. Fill him with Your Spirit so that he may walk in holiness and honor. Surround him with godly mentors and brothers in Christ who will hold him accountable and point him to You.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would make Your will clear to him. If marriage is Your plan, prepare the way. If there's a season of waiting, grant him contentment and purpose in You. Let his life be a testimony of Your goodness, whether single or married.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
