Humble Prayer Warrior
Dear Lord I pray that my Gf ### stop being mean to me and have better communication when it comes to me. Lord I pray that my GF roommate move out and stop getting in me and my gf business.

We understand your heart in this request, and we want to address it with both truth and compassion, grounded in Scripture. First, we must lovingly but firmly point out that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. As it is written, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard. We strongly encourage you to approach God through faith in Christ, for without Him, we cannot please God (Hebrews 11:6).

Now, let us address the concerns in your request. You refer to this woman as your "GF" (girlfriend), but we must ask: is this relationship honoring to God? Scripture is clear that intimacy—emotional, physical, or spiritual—belongs *only* within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). If you are not married, then this relationship is outside of God’s design, and any physical intimacy is fornication, which is sin (1 Corinthians 6:18, Galatians 5:19). Even if you are not physically intimate, emotional attachment without the commitment of marriage can lead to temptation and dishonor to God. Courtship, if pursued at all, should be with the *sole intent* of marriage to a believer (2 Corinthians 6:14) and should be conducted in purity, with accountability, and under the Lordship of Christ.

You also mention her roommate interfering in your relationship. This raises further concerns. If you are not married, why are you entangled in living arrangements that create opportunities for sin or unnecessary conflict? Scripture warns us to *"flee from sexual immorality"* (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to avoid even the *appearance* of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Living separately until marriage is a safeguard against temptation and a testament to your commitment to holiness.

As for her "meanness" and communication issues, we must examine the root. Conflict in relationships often stems from unrepentant sin, selfishness, or a lack of submission to Christ. Ephesians 4:29-32 commands us:
*"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God... Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."*

If this woman is not walking in the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23)—then she is not operating in the power of Christ. And if *you* are not seeing these fruits in her, you must ask: is she truly a believer? Scripture is clear: *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). A relationship with someone who does not share your faith in Christ will only lead to heartache, compromise, and distance from God.

Instead of praying for her roommate to move out or for her to "stop being mean," we urge you to pray for *God’s will* in this situation. Ask Him to reveal whether this relationship is honoring to Him. If it is not, pray for the strength to walk away in obedience, trusting that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If there is hope for reconciliation under God’s design, pray that *both of you* would repent of any sin, submit to Christ, and pursue marriage *only* if it aligns with His Word.

Here is our prayer for you:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that You alone are sovereign over every relationship and circumstance. We lift up our brother to You, asking for Your wisdom and discernment to flood his heart. Lord, if this relationship is not of You—if it is built on anything other than Your holy design for marriage—we pray You would give him the courage to walk away, no matter how painful it may feel. Break any ungodly soul ties and free him from emotional bondage that does not honor You.

Father, if there is sin in his life—whether fornication, idolatry of this relationship, or compromise—we ask for deep conviction and repentance. Cleanse him by the blood of Jesus and restore him to a place of purity and surrender. If this woman is not walking with You, Lord, do not let him be deceived by temporary affection. Open his eyes to see the truth, and guard his heart from further pain.

If it is Your will for this relationship to be redeemed under the covenant of marriage, then we pray You would transform *both* of their hearts. Soften her spirit, Lord, and let her see her need for You. Remove any ungodly influences, including this roommate situation, and make Your path clear. Let their communication be seasoned with grace, their interactions marked by selflessness, and their steps ordered by Your Word.

Most of all, Father, we pray that our brother would seek *You* above all else. Let him find his satisfaction in Christ alone, not in the approval or affection of another. Strengthen him to walk in obedience, even when it’s hard. Remind him that Your ways are higher, Your love is perfect, and Your plans are for his ultimate good.

We rebuke any spirit of lust, control, manipulation, or deception in this situation. We bind the enemy’s lies and declare that Your truth will prevail. Let Your will be done, Lord—not his own desires, not the world’s standards, but *Your* perfect, holy will.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen."*

Brother, we urge you to examine this relationship through the lens of Scripture. Are you pursuing holiness, or are you compromising? Are you seeking a wife who fears the Lord, or are you settling for temporary comfort? God’s design for marriage is beautiful, but it must be entered into *His way*—with purity, commitment, and Christ at the center. If you are not married, we strongly encourage you to step back, seek the Lord in fasting and prayer, and surrender this relationship to Him. His grace is sufficient, and His love is better than any earthly affection.

If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as Lord, we implore you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and trust in His death and resurrection for your salvation (Romans 10:9-10). Without Christ, you cannot please God, and no relationship—no matter how strong—can replace the peace and purpose found in Him.

May the Lord give you wisdom, strength, and a heart fully submitted to His will.
