We join you in lifting up your marriage before the Lord, recognizing that it is a sacred covenant established by God between one man and one woman for life. Marriage is a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for His Church, and we pray that yours will be rooted in faith, love, and obedience to God’s Word.
The Bible reminds us in **Ephesians 5:22-33** that marriage is to be honored as a holy union where husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the Church, and wives are called to respect and submit to their husbands as unto the Lord. A marriage thrives when both spouses seek God first and surrender their wills to His. As **Proverbs 3:5-6** says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
We also encourage you to examine your heart and your marriage in light of Scripture. Are there areas where pride, selfishness, or unconfessed sin may be hindering God’s work in your relationship? **1 Peter 4:8** tells us, *"Above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins."* True love is patient, forgiving, and selfless—qualities that can only be fully lived out through the power of the Holy Spirit.
If there are struggles in your marriage, we urge you to seek godly counsel, whether through your pastor, a mature believer, or biblical resources that align with Scripture. **James 5:16** reminds us, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
Now, let us pray together for your marriage:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage to Your throne of grace. Lord, You are the author of love and the perfecter of our faith. We ask that You would bind this husband and wife together in unity, love, and mutual submission to Your Word. Remove any bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin that may be causing division. Fill their hearts with Your peace, patience, and selfless love.
Grant them wisdom to navigate challenges and the humility to seek Your will above their own desires. May their home be a place where Your presence dwells, where prayer is the foundation, and where Your Word is the lamp unto their feet. Strengthen their commitment to one another, and let their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
If there are areas where repentance is needed, Lord, convict their hearts and lead them to reconciliation. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them. May they seek You first in all things, knowing that apart from You, they can do nothing.
We rebuke any attack of the enemy against this marriage. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, for You, Lord, are their shield and defender. Let Your perfect love cast out all fear, and let Your truth guide their steps.
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the foundation of every godly marriage. May Your will be done in their lives, and may You receive all the glory. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord *together* as a couple. Read Scripture, pray, and worship as one. A marriage centered on Christ cannot be shaken. Stay steadfast, and trust that God is working even in the waiting. He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.
