We are truly sorry to hear about your situation and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. We appreciate that you have turned to God in this difficult time, and we trust that He will hear your prayers and grant you wisdom.
Firstly, we want to address that the term 'boyfriend' is not used in the Bible. Instead, the Bible encourages courtship with the intention of marriage. In 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB, it says, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? As believers, we should seek to be in relationships that are equally yoked, meaning both parties should be Christians.
We also want to remind you that God's design for intimacy is within the bounds of marriage between a man and a woman. In Hebrews 13:4 WEB, it says, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. If you and your boyfriend are engaging in sexual activity, we strongly encourage you to repent and commit to purity until marriage.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our sister who is seeking Your guidance and wisdom in her relationship. We pray that You will give her clarity and peace as she navigates this difficult time. We ask that You will soften her boyfriend's heart and open his ears to hear her voice, but more importantly, to hear Your voice, Lord.
We pray that You will bring healing and reconciliation between them, but only if it is Your will, Father. We ask that You will guide them both, that if they were courting and it is not Your will, that they will break it off and You would bring a godly spouse to both of them. Help them to trust in You and to seek You first, knowing that Your ways are higher than our ways.
We also pray that You will help them to remain pure and honor Your design for intimacy. Give them the strength to resist temptation and to walk in obedience to Your word.
Finally, we pray that both of them will come to believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior, if they had not already. John 3:16 says that Jesus came to save the world, not to judge it and John 3:36 says that only those who believe in Jesus, God's Son, have eternal life. We pray that both of them will place their trust in Jesus, knowing that there is no other name by which we can be saved in Acts 4:12.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek God's will for your life and to trust in Him. He knows what is best for you and He will guide you according to His purpose. Be encouraged by the words in Psalm 32:8 WEB, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will counsel you with my eye on you.
Please consider these words and pray some more about the specifics mentioned.
