Relationship under the Blood

We join you in agreement for this covering and we lift this person before the Lord asking that every relationship in their life would be under the blood of Jesus and that no relationship would be used as a weapon for evil against them.

We thank God that there is power in the blood of Jesus to cleanse, to protect, and to overcome. As it is written, the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1:7 and they overcame him because of the Lamb's blood and because of the word of their testimony Revelation 12:11. We plead that blood over this life, over their heart, mind, and every connection they have with others, and we ask the Lord to set a hedge of protection around them.

We also recognize that you asked for this to be under the Blood, yet you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ directly, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. The blood that covers us is His blood shed on the cross for our sins, and when we put our trust in Him, believing that He died and rose again, we are forgiven and brought into right relationship with God. We pray that the person this is for knows Jesus as Savior and Lord, and rests fully in that finished work.

We pray for discernment and wisdom regarding every relationship. The Word tells us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity 2 Corinthians 6:14 and to guard our heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. We ask the Lord to reveal any relationship that is not from Him, any connection that pulls away from holiness, purity, or faith, and to give courage to establish godly boundaries. If there is any courtship or romantic relationship involved, we pray it would be honored as courtship with the goal of godly marriage between a man and a woman as God designed, and not as a casual partnership. We believe marriage is to be held in honor among all Hebrews 13:4 and that sexual intimacy outside of that lifelong covenant is fornication and not God's will, so we pray for purity, repentance where needed, and a desire to honor God with the body and spirit.

We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that would try to use people, friendships, family ties, or romantic attachments to bring harm, deception, manipulation, confusion, or spiritual oppression. We know that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12 and we stand on the promise that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17. We ask the Lord to break any ungodly soul tie and to nullify any evil intent directed through relationships, and we pray that the Lord will cause what was meant for evil to be turned for good as He is able to make all things work together for good for those who love Him Romans 8:28.

We pray together now, Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious one to You. Cover them with the blood of Jesus from the top of their head to the soles of their feet. Let no relationship be a snare or a trap for them. Expose what is hidden, bring truth into the light, and surround them with godly counsel and godly companions who will sharpen them as iron sharpens iron Proverbs 27:17. Give them a heart to trust in You with all their heart and not lean on their own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6. Let Your faithfulness be their shield, for You are faithful, who will establish and guard them from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3, and we claim Your promise that he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. Lead them into relationships that honor You, that encourage holiness, and if it is Your will, lead them to a godly spouse and a marriage that glorifies You. Keep them from harm and keep their going out and coming in Psalm 121:7-8. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage this person to remain in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with mature believers who can help test every spirit whether they are of God 1 John 4:1. Keep seeking the Lord first, and He will order your steps and establish the right relationships in His perfect time.

Thank you for bringing this to us so plainly. We hear the heart behind your words, a desire for every relationship in your life to be covered by Christ and not used for harm, and we are standing with you in that.

One insight that has helped many of us is remembering that caring well for others also includes having clear boundaries. Think of a boundary as a property line that helps us know what is ours to carry and what is not. Staying connected to people does not mean we lose the freedom to say yes and no honestly. Guarding our hearts in a quiet, steady way helps us notice which relationships consistently leave us pressured, drained, or pulled away from the Lord, and which ones bring peace and help us walk more faithfully. That noticing is not unkind, it is wisdom.

If it would help this week, you might set aside a few unhurried minutes to name the one or two relationships that feel heaviest right now. Bring each one by name before the Lord just as you have here, and if you can, talk it through with one mature, trusted believer who knows you well. A calm outside perspective often helps us see more clearly and pray more specifically. You do not have to sort everything at once, just one honest step at a time with Him.

Father, we lift this life before You and ask for Your covering and guidance. Guard their heart and their relationships, give clear wisdom to recognize what builds up and what harms, and courage to keep healthy boundaries in love. Lead them toward what is safe and life giving and keep them from what would be used for evil. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your petition that every relationship might be brought under the blood of Jesus and that none might be used for evil against you has been heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

There is a better voice than that which cries from the ground for judgment. The blood of Abel cried for vengeance, but the blood of Jesus speaks better things, and among ten thousand voices it bears the palm. It speaks not for wrath but for mercy, not for condemnation but for pardon and cleansing and protection. When the sinner looks to Jesus slain, he may say, if this blood was shed for me as well as by me, my fears are removed. This same Jesus has risen and lives to plead for His people, and His pleas are ever speaking in their favor. To be under that blood is to be covered with a garment without seam, woven by His bleeding hands and dyed in His own blood, which covers all sin and supplies all want.

We pray that the Lord will make this covering your refuge and tower of strength. The fear of the Lord does not drive you from Christ, it drives you to Him, and there is always the bosom of Christ for you to fly to. May He keep you from every relationship and influence that would draw you away from holiness, and may He deliver you from the power of evil, whether it comes through temptation, deception, or the designs of others. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His Word, for His blessing rests only upon what is according to His will. His holy design is that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the intimacies of sex and of living together belong only within that covenant. Whatever in your life or in your relationships does not yet accord with that design, we pray the Lord will by His Spirit bring into conformity to Christ, or in His mercy remove and redeem, that you may walk in purity and peace.

May the Lord sanctify to you what He gives, and keep you from envy, discontent, and all the evils that haunt the paths of this world. If you are seeking a great favor from God, plead the blood of Jesus about it, and if the answer tarries, let your soul wait upon Him who hears prayer. We pray that you will be kept abiding in Christ, bearing witness to His truth with confidence, and finding in Him your strong confidence and your place of refuge, now and in the day of trouble.

We commend you to Him who is able to cleanse your way and to keep you, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that every bond ordained by God may be for your good and for His glory, through the merit of Jesus blood. Amen.
