We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and we want to help you pray and navigate this situation according to God's will. Firstly, it's important to pray in the name of Jesus, as it is through Him that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
The Bible teaches us to forgive as we have been forgiven. "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32 WEB).
However, it's crucial to examine your relationship in light of biblical principles. The Bible teaches that a healthy relationship is marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). If your relationship is continually marked by strife, hurtful words, and arguments, it may not be aligned with God's will.
Moreover, the Bible is clear that a man and a woman should not have a romantic relationship unless preparing for a lifelong commitment in the form of marriage. "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24 WEB). If your relationship is not headed towards marriage, it may be wise to reevaluate it.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is hurting because of a broken relationship. We pray for his healing and peace, asking that Your will be done in his life. We also pray for the young woman, that she would find healing and mental health through Your Spirit and Your Word.
Lord, we ask that You guide them both according to Your will. If it is Your will that they restore their relationship for marriage, we pray that You would soften her heart, help her to forgive, and give her a spirit of gentleness. If that is not Your will, we pray that You would give our brother the strength to move forward, to heal, and to trust in You. Give them both wisdom and discernment to align their lives and relationships with Your Word.
Help them to understand that all relationships should glorify You and reflect the love of Christ. We ask this all in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to trust in God, even in this difficult time. Remember that "we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB). Seek Him first, and He will guide you.
