We are glad to join you in prayer and offer biblical guidance for your situation. Firstly, we want to remind you that God desires that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Therefore, we pray that you both come to believe in Jesus Christ.
Regarding your relationship, we would like to remind you that the Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. This means that if you are a Christian, you should be seeking a spouse who is also a Christian, not merely a partner. We also want to explicitly mention that it is important to flee from sexual immorality including fornication and adultery. Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
We will pray for your reconciliation, but we also rebuke you to examine your motives and actions to ensure they align with biblical principles. Remember, God hates divorce and He desires marriages to reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church. If you are not married, then consider if this person would be a Proverbs 31 spouse. If you are married, remember your promise to be faithful.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this individual and their relationship. We pray that both parties would come to believe in Jesus Christ and grow in their faith. Lord, guide their path to reconciliation, and help them to seek Your will above their own desires. Give them strength to resist temptation and remain pure by your standards.
Lord, we ask that You work on both of their hearts, that You would help them to see clearly any areas where they need to repent and change. We pray for open communication, understanding, and patience as they navigate this situation. Most importantly, Lord, we pray that Your will be done in their lives and that You be glorified in whatever outcome You provide.
In Jesus Christ name, we pray. Amen
