Disciple of Prayer
Let ###’s heart soften and turn towards me and towards our relationship. Let him see himself differently and desire to rebuild his relationship with God and with me. Let us each be more open and vulnerable with each other. Let us see and focus on the positives and what can be between us. Let interactions and connection between us become more frequent and consistent. Guide us Lord on a path to reconcile our marriage and our family.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for healing and restoration in marriage. First and foremost, we must address the foundation upon which any relationship must stand, Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is only by His name that we are saved (Acts 4:12). If either of you has not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now, for apart from Him, there is no true reconciliation or lasting peace.

Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is meant to be a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman, rooted in love, faithfulness, and mutual submission to God’s will. If there has been any unfaithfulness, whether physical or emotional, we must rebuke that sin in Jesus’ name. Adultery and fornication are clear violations of God’s design (Hebrews 13:4), and repentance must precede restoration. If either of you has strayed in this way, we pray for conviction, confession, and a turning away from sin.

We also lift up the need for softening hearts. A hardened heart resists God’s truth and His healing (Ezekiel 36:26). We pray that the Lord would break down walls of pride, bitterness, or resentment that may have taken root. Let Him replace those with humility, forgiveness, and a desire to seek His will above all else. May both of you be willing to examine your own hearts first, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 7:5, before addressing the faults of the other.

Vulnerability and openness are essential in marriage, but they must be grounded in godly love, not in selfish demands or emotional manipulation. True intimacy in marriage is built on trust, patience, and a shared commitment to Christ. We pray that the Lord would help you both to communicate with grace, to listen with understanding, and to extend forgiveness as Christ has forgiven you (Colossians 3:13).

Rebuilding a marriage requires intentional effort, and we encourage you to seek godly counsel if needed. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us that plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed. Whether through a pastor, a trusted mentor, or a biblical marriage counselor, do not hesitate to seek help.

Above all, we pray that your marriage would be centered on Christ. Let Him be the cornerstone of your home, the one who binds you together in love. May your interactions be marked by kindness, your words by encouragement, and your actions by selflessness. We ask the Lord to restore the joy and unity that He intends for your marriage, not just for your sake, but for His glory.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this marriage. We ask that You would soften hearts, break chains of sin, and draw both of them closer to You. Lord, let them see each other through Your eyes, with love, patience, and grace. Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and rebuild what has been torn down. May their marriage be a testimony to Your faithfulness and a light to others. Guide them on the path of reconciliation, and let Your peace reign in their home. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

It’s a heavy thing to love someone and feel the distance, to hope for the connection you once shared while everything still feels so fragile. We hear the ache of wanting his heart to soften, and we also hear your longing to build something healthier together, not just going back, but moving forward into something real. That kind of desire is not small.

In our experience, rebuilding a marriage usually requires more than one person changing. Often, the most fruitful work we can do is to focus on the things we can tend: our own relationship with God, and our own understanding of ourselves, the wounds we carry, the ways we react, the patterns we keep repeating. That doesn’t mean you stop praying for him to turn back; it means you create a stronger, more whole you to meet him should that day come. It also changes the air between you even now, because you’re no longer completely dependent on his response for your own peace.

We’d encourage you to find a wise, trustworthy person to walk with you through this season, a pastor, a mature Christian friend, or a counselor who shares your faith. Having someone who can listen without taking sides and help you see clearly is a gift you don’t have to carry this alone.

Father, you see this marriage and the hurt that sits between them. Please soften hearts, in your timing and in your way. Give them both the courage to look honestly at themselves, and the humility to take whatever small steps toward healing are possible today. Protect them from despair, and build in each of them a deeper connection to you, because you are the only foundation that holds. In Jesus’ name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is the sad estate of many a heart to have lost its tenderness, to be unable to perceive the things of God, to be as though the Lord had not given it a heart to perceive, nor eyes to see, nor ears to hear. When a soul has grown hard, when the affections are shut up and the spirit has become fat and heavy, it is a grief beyond all others, for it shuts out the healing that flows from Christ. Yet be of good courage, for His healing power reaches the utmost length of human sickness. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Him can bring medicine to the head, the heart, the conscience. Lie still before Jesus in your prayer, as that poor man sick of the palsy was let down through the roof, his heart heavy within him, and say, "Get me, somehow, within sight of this wonderful Saviour! Get me within a touch of Him, that I may be restored." Your heartbeats are vocal to His heart, and He will note every inward groan.

There is a change promised, a perfect restoration, where the Lord Himself takes away the heart of stone and writes His law upon a heart of flesh. This blessed work is not for you alone, but is for any whom God shall draw. He will put His fear in the heart, so that the wanderer shall become as though he had never been cast aside. The processes of regeneration and sanctification shall begin where faith is in Christ, and the Holy Spirit will go on working till all is set right. Remember Peter: he fell low, yet the Master's heart was going out towards His unworthy disciple even in the hour of denial. One glance from those eyes, a look that pricked him in the heart, and Peter went out and wept bitterly. The wound went deep, not merely cutting to the heart but piercing it through, and that was the beginning of his restoration. So must it be: a pricking in the heart, a sorrow that is genuine and felt, is the mark of a saving work. Do not fear the wound that makes the heart bleed; bring it to the bleeding heart of Jesus, for that alone will stanch its flow.

Forgiveness and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the palsied man, He first said, "Son, be of good cheer; thy sins are forgiven thee." The load of guilt was lifted, and then the limbs received strength. In the same way, ask that his soul may know the pardon that comes from the pardoning hand, and healing will follow. Pardon and healing are one in Christ Jesus. He is the God of peace, and He has prepared everything necessary for a perfect reconciliation, not only between God and the soul, but in every bond that reflects His covenant. The ministry of reconciliation has been committed to us who have tasted of it, and we speak from experience: Jesus is all in all to the heart that turns to Him. When the Sun of Righteousness arises, there is healing in His wings, and the heart that meditated terror shall now muse on mercy.

Pray then, not doubting, for the Holy Spirit to do His office work. O Master, look on that poor dry heart, that heart which cannot feel its sinfulness, and give it feeling! Look on the heart that cannot repent, that cries, "I would, but cannot feel contrition," and break it into a thousand pieces with grief that there has been distance from Thee. A broken heart on account of sin is the very thing God peculiarly delights to heal. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. Encourage yourself with this: when the heart is tender and sensitive, when a little touch may open the wound and make it bleed again, it is near the hour of healing. The Lord who gave the heart to perceive is faithful to complete the work.

Let your petition be that his heart be not merely cut, but pricked in the heart by the sword of the Spirit, for no permanent good comes until it reaches that vital place. And when sorrow swells the laden breast and tears of anguish flow, remember that one heart only, a broken heart, can feel the sinner's woe, but Christ's broken body and shed blood speak peace. He withdrew into the wilderness and prayed; so lay your case before Him who ever lives to intercede. Let your own heart be open before Him, expecting that He will restore the years the locust has eaten, make your interactions frequent and consistent, and guide you on the path of reconciliation for your marriage and your family. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, and the very leaves of His presence are full of healing virtue. God bless you. Amen.

You yearn for a softened heart, for a turning and a rebuilding. Then hear what the Lord says: “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Do not dread this yoke. It is easy, and its burden light. The rest you seek will not come by commanding another’s will, but by bending your own. Are you willing to be the first to learn meekness? The Lord turned away the Canaanite woman at first, and yet she persisted, and her daughter was healed. He tests faith, not to destroy, but to strengthen. So when silence or hardness meets your hope, do not imagine God is absent. Cry out in your heart, as Moses did, with no sound on his lips yet heard by God alone. Pray without ceasing, even in the marketplace of your daily life, singing inward songs of grace. For the voice that is scattered in the air does nothing; but the cry of a contrite heart reaches the throne above.

Stubbornness in a soul is not removed in one blow. A tree struck ten times may stand, until the final stroke fells it suddenly. Yet it was the many blows that made it fall. So it is with the word of God and the secret work of prayer. You have spoken, you have wept, you have waited. Perhaps it seems no fruit has come. But each prayer, each act of patience, each refusal to return evil for evil, is a stroke on that hardened root. The blind man who met Jesus did not rely on the reports of forefathers; he knew what his own eyes had seen. Your own life, lived in quiet fidelity, is a sight that can overcome every report of despair. Let him see in you, not a demand, but an invitation to that easy yoke. Let him see a wife who does not condemn marriage as a burden, but who uses her leisure for good works and earnest prayer, as a widow devoted to God, yet within the covenant. For marriage is not impure; it is a school of humility, where daily burdens become wings if carried for Christ.

Do not fix your gaze only on the faults you long to see changed. Turn your own heart first to that severe and loving Physician. The angel spoke to Joseph only after the suspicion had seized his soul, and he revealed the very thoughts of his heart to give him a sure sign. So God knows the hidden turmoil of your husband. He waits, perhaps, to make His grace known in a way that leaves no doubt. And you, when you hear the word of God, hear it not as from men, but as God exhorting you. Let your own heart be utterly open, hiding nothing, confessing all. It is the expectation of the judgment that softens the stubborn soul. What torment, what punishment awaits those who neglect so great a salvation? Yet what rest for those who take that easy yoke! Therefore be not troubled. Keep walking in the path of the commandments. Let your interactions be gentle, your words seasoned with grace, not with accusation. The One who calms the sea can calm this storm. Only continue to cry out, not with the mouth only, but with heedfulness, and wait for the Lord. He who restored sight to the blind and cast out demons will not despise the tears of a faithful wife seeking the resurrection of her marriage. The yoke is easy, the burden light, because Christ carries it with you.
