REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS

REJOICE IN THE LORD ALWAYS

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

The world experiences joy and happiness in direct proportion to their circumstances. Bad circumstances produce sorrow and depression, while good circumstances produce joy and a sense of peace. Believe it or not that is bondage my friend, and that should not be the case with Christians. Our joy is not dependent on things or circumstances, but rather in the person of Jesus Christ who is our peace and joy.

The way we can take advantage of this joy and peace in the midst of tribulation, is found in Colossians 3:1-2 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. Note: we are to have our minds and hearts stayed on things above and not on things of this earth. Remember this, 2 Cor. 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. In light of these scriptures, the problems of this life grow very dim when we compare them to the glory of God that is ours through Jesus our Lord.

We can rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4) because rejoicing is a choice, not a reaction to our environment or circumstances. Joy is a gift from God that was given to us the day we were born again. It was placed within our spirit and it doesn't fluctuate or diminish; it is constant. The Lord has put the joy inside us and we can "work this out" by choosing to obey this command in scripture.

Many people are not experiencing true joy because they are waiting to rejoice when things are going good, and most of the time in this fallen world that isn't the case. We are suppose to "rejoice in the Lord always." That means we are supposed to rejoice in who the Lord is and what He has done for us.

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Romans 8:18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Psalms 16:11 Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

I WILL REJOICE BY LUKE GARRETT

Thank you for the post! Yes there are times when it feels as if he has His hand on my shoulder or is covering me and there have been times after pleading in prayer answers have arrived from heaven. I felt a strong strong peace come over me once when I was reading the beginning of the books that begin with Peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ, and I felt that supernatural peace. To feel that again it was like nothing else! I have felt His arms around me and heard Him speak to my very soul saying my child none of these things are true when I was thinking terribly negative things. He is the true living God and you are never the same once you experience His love. I thank God for the faith He has given me a some faith perhaps but sure. More love to thee Lord I I pray for a closer walk with thee! Thank you for this reminder Don and for all that you write and share. We are all blessed by you dear brother! There's a glitch here and translate won't leave screen so I am typing in the dark a bit. Hope some of this message gets through perhaps I can edit it later! God be with you and all in this ministry in Jesus' name Amen
