We come before the Lord with your request, lifting up your need for wisdom as you seek references for the job you’ve applied for. The Bible tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We stand on this promise, believing that the Lord will guide your steps and provide the discernment you need in choosing the right people to speak on your behalf.
Heavenly Father, we ask that You would open doors of favor for our brother/sister in this process. Grant them clarity of mind as they consider who to ask for references, and give them peace as they reach out to those who can testify to their character and work ethic. May the words spoken about them be filled with truth and integrity, reflecting the faithfulness You have placed within them. Lord, we also pray that You would prepare the hearts of those reviewing their application, that they would see Your hand at work in their life and career. Strengthen them with confidence, knowing that You are their ultimate Provider and that Your plans for them are good.
We also encourage you to lean on Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is not just about securing a job—it is about walking in obedience to God’s will for your life. As you seek Him in this process, He will direct your steps.
