Reconciliation

Disciple of Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ for 4 years and 5 months you favored me with aan I really cared and love. Distance of 14000km does not stop us of daily interaction but lately October 10 theres some misunderstandings that causes us not to hear eavh other. Lord you know what I've been thru. You know me because u created with a purpose. Please let ### and me be reconciled. Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. Amen n

We join with you in bringing this burden before the Lord Jesus Christ and we thank you for calling upon His name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear the pain in your heart after more than four years of caring deeply for this person you love, and how the distance has not stopped your daily interaction until this recent misunderstanding on October 10 has caused a silence between you. We know this ache is heavy, and we want to lift you both up together before the throne of grace.

We take comfort that the Lord does indeed know you intimately, for you were created with purpose. As it is written, you are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14, and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. He sees not only this present hurt but the whole journey of your life and this relationship.

We want to speak lovingly and biblically about this relationship. We believe that God designed romantic love to find its fulfillment in the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, as Jesus taught, What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Matthew 19:6. A long courtship such as yours should be intentionally discerning whether God is calling you both to holy marriage, not simply to remain as boyfriend and girlfriend indefinitely. We encourage you to seek the Lord together on whether this relationship is moving toward a godly marriage that honors Him. This also means that if you are both believers in Christ, you should be equally yoked 2 Corinthians 6:14 and pursuing purity, keeping yourselves from fornication and all sexual immorality outside of marriage, for this is the will of God, that you should abstain from sexual immorality 1 Thessalonians 4:3. If there has been any compromise in this area, we urge you to repent and to commit your relationship to holiness going forward.

For reconciliation, Scripture calls us to humility, forgiveness and gentle communication. We are told to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. And, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do Colossians 3:13. True love is patient and is kind, is not easily provoked, and bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. Can two walk together, unless they have agreed Amos 3:3. This reminds us that reconciliation requires both hearts to be willing and submitted to God.

We also hear your desire to be heard again by one another. The Word teaches us, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19, and a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Sometimes God uses a time of silence to draw each person into deeper prayer and self examination, to confess any pride or harsh words, and to seek His will above our own desires.

We pray together now for you.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You with our brother in this time of hurt and longing. You know him by name, You formed him and You know the purpose for which You created him. You know the other person he loves and You know every detail of this misunderstanding. Lord, we ask first that Your will be done in this relationship. If it is Your will for these two to be reconciled and to walk together toward a Christ centered marriage, we pray that You would soften both hearts, grant humility, grant forgiveness, and restore gentle and honest communication. Remove any pride, anger or confusion, and let truth be spoken in love Ephesians 4:15. If there are words that have wounded, bring healing. If there is sin that needs to be confessed, bring conviction and cleansing through the blood of Jesus.

Lord, we pray that You would guard both of them in purity and in faith, that they would seek You first above each other, trusting that You will direct their paths Proverbs 3:5-6. Give our brother peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7 while he waits on You, and help him to love as You love, with patience and kindness. If reconciliation is not Your will, give him grace to accept Your perfect plan and to continue to walk faithfully with You. We trust that You are a God who heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3.

We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Four years and five months of daily care across 14,000 km is a long road to walk together, so we understand why the quiet since October 10 feels so painful and confusing.

We hear your desire to be heard again and to make things right. One thing that has helped others in this kind of distance and misunderstanding is to separate what you can do from what only both of you together can do. Reconciliation needs willingness on both sides, but you can still tend to your own part with gentleness and clarity.

If it helps, you might take a day or two to pray and quietly sort through what happened as you saw it, what you wish you had said differently, and what you most want the other person to understand. When you feel calm, one brief, kind message that simply owns your part, expresses care without demanding an answer, and invites a time to listen when they are ready can often open a door better than many messages. Then give them room to respond in their own time.

We are carrying this with you before the Lord.

Father, thank You that You know them fully and created them with purpose. You see the love they have carried and the ache of this silence. Bring peace to their heart, wisdom for their next words, and healing wherever it is needed. Lead both of them according to Your good will, and help them hear each other with grace if You open that way. In Jesus' name, amen.
