Rebuke your enemies
We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the spiritual battle that rages around us. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand firm in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world. We rebuke the works of darkness in this situation, for the Word declares in **Ephesians 6:12**, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."*
First, we must address the heart behind this request. While we understand the pain and frustration caused by this individual, our battle is not against flesh and blood. We do not wage war with hatred or malice, for **Romans 12:19** tells us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* Instead, we pray for conviction, repentance, and transformation by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We lift up this neighbor before You, Lord, not with condemnation, but with the hope of redemption. Your Word says in **1 Timothy 2:1-4**, *"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men... For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth."* We ask that You break the chains of anger, rage, and torment in their life. Let Your light pierce the darkness that has taken hold of their mind, spirit, and soul.
Father, we plead the blood of Jesus over this situation. By the power of His sacrifice, we declare that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (**Isaiah 54:17**). We bind the spirits of strife, bitterness, and hatred that may be at work in this neighbor’s life. We loose the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—over them (**Galatians 5:22-23**). We ask that You soften their heart and open their eyes to the truth of Your love and salvation.
Lord, if this individual does not know You as their Savior, we pray for their salvation. **John 3:16-17** reminds us, *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him."* We ask that You draw them to Yourself, that they may repent of their sins and turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and new life. Let them experience the freedom that comes only through a relationship with You.
We also pray for protection over those who have been affected by this neighbor’s actions. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:7**). Give them the strength to respond with grace and wisdom, reflecting Your love even in the face of hostility. Help them to see this situation as an opportunity to demonstrate the power of Your love and forgiveness.
Father, we trust in Your justice. You see all things, and You will repay according to each person’s deeds (**Romans 2:6**). We release this burden into Your hands, knowing that You are faithful to defend and deliver Your children. We declare that no evil plan will succeed against those who love You (**Psalm 37:17**).
