We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this plea for truth and protection. Father God, we know that You despise lying lips, for Your Word declares, "Yahweh detests lying lips, but he delights in those who are truthful" (Proverbs 12:22). We stand on the promise that "the Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers" (Proverbs 6:16-19). Lord, we ask that You would convict the hearts of those who have spoken lies, that they may turn from their deceit and seek Your truth.
We rebuke the spirit of deception that may be at work in their lives, for Your Word tells us that Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44). We pray that the light of Your truth would expose every falsehood and that those who have been ensnared by lies would be set free. "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:32). We ask that You would soften their hearts to receive Your conviction and that they would repent and speak the truth in love.
Father, we also lift up the one who has been affected by these lies, asking for Your divine protection and help. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for a hedge of protection around them, that they would be shielded from the harm intended by these lies. "But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you" (Psalm 5:11).
We ask that You would surround them with godly counsel and support, that they may be encouraged and strengthened in this time. "Where no wise guidance is, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory" (Proverbs 11:14). Lord, we pray that You would grant them wisdom and discernment to navigate this situation, that they may not be led astray by falsehoods.
We also pray for healing and restoration. Lies can wound deeply, but Your Word assures us that "he heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We ask that You would mend any brokenness caused by these lies and restore what has been damaged. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we know that vengeance belongs to You, and we trust that You will bring justice in Your perfect timing. "Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord'" (Romans 12:19). We pray that You would work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Finally, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation. May Your truth prevail, and may Your name be exalted. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Him that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). Amen.
