Radical Change
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. (Psalm 32:1)
True repentance is to make a radical change in ones self; you stop doing things in the dark and bring your concern into the light, giving you’re heart to God. You see God gives us true repentance: the knowledge that he is gracious, merciful and slow to anger.
Formerly you may have thought that God's ways were too hard… Formerly you may have considered God as one against whom you harbored enmity… Formerly your heart may have said, "Who is Jehovah that I should obey Him?" However when you repent, you give your heart to God, you hate what you once loved (sinful ways) and you love what you once hated (God’s truth). No longer is your heart pointed towards spiritual darkness… now it’s pointed toward the light of God.
This means that repentance is a work of God's grace. To repent unto the Lord your God means that Jehovah has graciously come to you, that Jehovah has come to you in such a way that he has changed the direction of your love and of your heart from Sinning to God.
