R U Challenged

8We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; (2 Corinthians 4:8)

Sometimes, we can all find ourselves so overwhelmed with life’s challenges!

Can I share a story of faith with you? I was talking to a friend (Steve) of mine the other day; he was telling me about a young man he met who was physically challenged… his hands were deformed to the point where he couldn’t perform certain things without help. But, that didn’t seem to affect the young man’s zest for life or getting things accomplished! As they jointly embarked upon the task of putting an outdoor shed together, the young man, without hesitation would make an attempt to do things my buddy Steve thought he was incapable of completing alone. But that didn’t stop the young man from making an attempt! So when Steve saw him struggling he would ask if he needed any help and the young man’s reply would always be a compelling “No”. However after realizing he did need help he would ask Steve for his help. After going through several iterations of this along the way, Steve said to the young man “you’re a pleasure to be around”. The young man asked what he meant. Steve replied, “You make me smile” and tried to explain to him how he was impressed with his approach to challenges and life in general. With that said the young man said “oh”, (still not quite understanding what Steve meant), but keying in on the word smile, he said… “I’m a comedian too”. This made Steve laugh until his stomach hurt. And the young man said “see I told you I was a comedian”! I see you, go ahead you can smile 

No one ever said life would be easy or without debilitating disabilities, but if you approach life with a positive attitude, you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish! Take the example in the story above; the young man’s unparalleled belief is he can accomplish anything, even though he has physical challenges. So, Instead of looking at you’re challenges as something that can’t be overcome, ask God to give you the strength to persevere.

Look at Moses at the burning bush. We can understand why he was so hesitant to accept God's call for him to lead the people of Israel. And like him, we all have our self-doubts and limitations. Moses was worried about the unbelief of the people; similarly, we may be concerned that people won't respond properly to our efforts or what we may be limited to do or not to do.

But, the Lord did not let Moses off the hook, did he? Instead, God gave him a sign to persuade the people to believe him, and He promised to guide him. God will never leave us without the resources to get the job done. He did it for Moses; He'll do it for you and he did it for the young man in the story by taking away his fears and giving him the ability to touch someone else’s heart in a way only God can do!

“Trust In Him”

With God's help we can triumph over any challenges!

Have A Great God Day!
